ALL Star Batman and the Boy wonder (#5 and beyond)

Yeah he did do that laugh in Dark Knight Returns. Maybe not to the extent that he did in the latest issue of All Star. But, regardless...the point that Miller seems to be making is that this Batman is really into what he's doing.

And you're probably right that in this universe he hasn't met Joker yet. So, yeah.

What's even more interesting about this is that Miller's Batman laughs or at least smiles, while Miller's Joker seems to only rarely laugh or smile. :o

I would've really liked to have seen Joker in this title (Miller's run anyways)..maybe we will?

Probably will--Lee's already done most of the people he mentioned in his sketchbook.

I hope so, because then that would mean there's a good chance to see The Question. And anything with The Question is instantly awesome, espicially Frank writing him--he was probably one of the best parts of DKSA.

I've come to terms with the fact that this is just a parody book now, but I still can't enjoy it as such. I think he's trying too hard.

I was just impressed that Superman said more than "Damn!" in this issue. Miller's branching out...

Miller has absolutely no idea who these characters are. not Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman.

well, maybe except Robin. and Plastic Man.

the only thing bearable about the whole run is Jim Lee's artwork.

the All Star line-- these are essentially Elseworld right?

No, it's all in continuity.

Maybe, but he also isn't trying to write them as we're used to. Obviously.

No. All-Star Batman and Robin takes place in the Dark Knight Universe which is bound to receive a designation number in the multiverse. All-Star Superman appears to have no set continuity so far.

Morrison's crazy mind?

Does that mean that the Dick Grayson that we see in these very issues will one day turn into a crazy mutant clown freak who kills super heros?

We will. Miller talked about it

FM: Actually, I find the most terrifying character circling around Batman remains the Joker, and I can’t keep may hands off of him. As I see it, there shouldn’t be anything funny about him. His name should be irony.

NRAMA
: What is it with the Joker and you? Is it similar to your attraction to Batman in that you can always find a new facet to him?

FM
: The thing is, the Joker is a sociopath and psychopath, but I would rather play up his evilness rather than his craziness. The Joker that I’ve always tried to portray, and now I get a chance to do it when he’s young – he’s satanic. He’s not laughing all the time.

thanks for clearing it up man.

well heck he has to something significant about him. half of Joker's usual craziness is in Batman already.

cant shake the feeling that Miller created INO characters in this title :(

i can careless, i like his take on batman. someone who is bat crazy insane. a batman thats ruthless, he does'nt kill of course. but he will punch the **** out out of you!

can't wait for millers joker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

When I read that I couldn't help but think that that was Miller giving every single hater the finger.

There's a word for a person who revenges himself upon those pointing out that he's soiling his pants, by continuing to soil his pants.

This book isn't humor or parody, it's a chronicle of an author's descent into dementia.
