I think the series is good. I'll say this-- my feeling on the pacing is that it isn't perfect, at times it's clearly off but-- I think that Miller is constructig this elaborate (semi at least, work with me) plot over the course of these issues-- at the cost of pacing-- and I think he is going to take an issue (I pray sooner rather than later) to knock everything down in one big fight or something. I think everyone will be surprised-- especially the nay-sayers (if they didn't drop the book already).

I liked this issue. And I think it is also becoming apparent that while Batman is a central character in the mythos of the world, he isn't the only character in the world. In that sense I'm happy Miller isn't writing a story where Batman goes, gets Robin's killer and goes home. In that sense, we all know that story, and have read it again. I honestly believe Miller could've done such a simple story and done it well (although you may claim that the way he is writing this story proves otherwise). I claim that Miller chose not to write such a simple story but opted to tell a larger story with a more decentralized point of view than just the Godd*** Batman running around punching stuff, because we've read that already. In that sense I applaud him and think people were too upset that they weren't getting DKR with Jim Lee on art, or another straight action story like Hush.

Very dissapointed with All star Batman and the boy wonder(who at this rate wont be robin any day soon). This series just doesnt go anywhere. The past issue went nowhere then 2 steps plotwise. All Star superman covered a helluva lot more ground in its first 2 issues. Allstar batman has the pacing of a snail and the fact that besides some jokes, the series just is good. Miller could have condense all these past issues into 2 -3 issues.

Yeah. Did he seriously f#ck Black Canary right there in the middle of the blood and thermite and bleach and knocked out bad-guys? Damn. And they left the masks on because it's BETTER that way.
I hate to do it, but I agree with GAH. Frank Miller is just writing whatever pops into his drug-addled mind. And I don't mean that in a bad way, but it's getting harder and harder to defend this title.

the book is hilarious as ****, the dialogue in this was really f'ed up balck canary sounds like shes from the south.

Come on. I like Bats to bits, but I abandoned Batman stories in my early teens. The way they tried to make it all brooding and serious felt really juvenile - it was like a constant apology for the sillyness of the character (guy in batsuit). It didn't feel less silly, no matter how many loved ones the Joker killed, or how much Bruce stared at his parents grave or how many Justice Leaguer's he betrayed.
Then this title comes along. It takes the concept
"Crazy guy in halloween costume kicks everybody's ass. Cuz he can."
to a whole new level. And ater all: isn't that what Batman, the comic book character really is about? And it's hilarious. This book has foam on the edges of it's mouth.
And it laughs at itself (and ape**** crazy fans) on every page, which is a giant plus.
Although I admit it wouldn't be this funny without the Internet.

I like the way Miller is writing it. If he's PURPOSELY making the characters say "the goddamn..." all the time because of all the Internet *****ing and moaning...Frank Miller is, without a doubt, the greatest writer EVER. Yes, simply because of that. Nothing better than a writer, who actually lives the life, sticking it to jealous Internet fans.

But, that's probably not the case. Miller probably had that written for a while it seems to me.

Gotta give props to Batman for nailing a chick after beating ass like that.

And the last page is all we need to know that next issue is going to be Godddamn brutal.
