Rogue One All the Easter Eggs and References (Spoilers)

Did anyone else think they heard Freddie Prince Jr. aka Kanan as one of the background voices on Yavin? Could very well be my imagination.

So yeah DarkSaber was one of the project names.. reference to the book. What about any of those other projects?

There were a few different Rebels voices used in the film. I don't know about FPJ, but I know Sam Witwer and Dave Filoni voiced Stormtroopers, not to mention Stephen Stanton voiced Admira Raddus. It's possible Freddie had a role.

That's right, it was the Skyhopper.
Luke has a T-16 Skyhopper, and they do say T-15 on Rogue One. So what they are exactly referencing I guess is up to interpretation.

True, I just figured that T-16 would be the succesor to the T-15. The same with T-17 in Episode 7.

The Ghost on Yavin 4 and can be seen several times during the battle of Scarif

General Syndulla mention

Commander Sato ship

Chopper rolls by Mon Mothma when she learns rogue one has left

Pao says Karabast during the beach battle (Zebs curse)

The two from the cantina

Red leader :D

I need to see this again

Ah ha! It was the BT-15. I didn’t think it was the Skyhopper...

Stormtroopers discuss BT-15 becoming obsolete in R1, new BT-16 in ANH.

I'm bummed I missed Chopper, I was looking for him. I loved hearing "General Syndulla" over the coms though.

I got way too excited for Red and Gold leaders too. :funny:

Huh. According to Wookiepedia a BT-16 is one of those spider-droids from Jabba's palace.

Never fear. The 3 visual Rebel references:

In light of Carrie Fisher's death, the CGI (motion capture) Leia at the end is incredibly bittersweet and a tad bizarre.. that's not to say that anyone knew this was coming, but.. wow..

I may be misremembering it but was there some of that operatic prequel music in the Vader scene where he dismantles the rebels?

Eh, there were vocals but I wouldn't say it sounded anything like Duel of the Fates. If I did not know better I would think it was from a horror movie.

As I said I may be misremembering it, there was a lot to take in and I've seen the film once.

I love how they used extra footage from ANH for cockpit shots of the battle in the end to tie in the same 'pilots'.

I thought that was amazing, really surprised me in a good way.

I thought it looked a lot better here than in Revenge of the Sith. The way the vista looked from the windows of Vader's castle was beautiful. It makes me wish for a Disney-era version of the "duel at the volcano".

I knew that planet looked familiar! I just didn't get onto the fact in the movie though for some reason. Will be looking out for that on 2nd viewing.

Sure, I didn't mean to sound like an ass or anything :oldrazz:

The album is out on Spotify, and I'm sure you can find it on youtube as well. That particular track is called Hope.

After getting back now and thinking, Princess Leia got some some collective whispers, gasps, claps, and ahh from the audience.

Leia was the one thing we all reacted to together, I think I was the only one almost in tears though.

Okay... I'm going into n00b mode now...
So what's with the "ghost" references you guys keep talking about and what's it mean/origins?

Thanks.

You didn't don't worry :woot:

Thanks

Was Sam Witwer the pilot who bites the dust by hitting the shield? Tonight when I saw it, that came to mind.

So I just started watching Rebels, pretty cool series by the way, and after watching Rogue One for the 3rd time last night I caught a lot of the references

Didn't catch it the second time either, but when Cassian rescues Jyn, he calls out to another trooper by name. I thought it sounded like Hobby (Hobbie?) -- the snowspeeder pilot from Empire. But wasn't sure. Pretty sure we've had a Hobby reference in Rebels if I recall properly from the Antilles Extraction episode (of which... where was Wedge in R1?).

There are so many quick shots in this it's hard to be sure, but thought I saw one of the rebel pilots with a helmet like Bigg's .. and yes he had a moustache.
