I'd take Smith over Pitt. The former has genuine charisma.
But the latter has a knack for inhibiting his roles far better than the former. And he's never been the type to hog the screen from other actors.

I'd easily take Pitt.

Why do we want any of the roles to be inhibited?

Tommy Wiseau for Deathstroke or I boycott.

Pitt plays varied roles, Smith plays himself, and talent trumps charisma imho. Pitt > Smith.

Agreed.

WillSmith doesn't like sharing the spotlight as well.

Yeah. Anyone doubting Pitt as Deathstroke needs to see Fury ASAP.

It also depends on which role. I mean by wanting Smith...they want a vet leader type for the team. It almost has to be Flagg or Deathstroke. Actors in Smiths age range are Pitt, Keanu and Stathams who could be vet leader types.

Than again he could be Manta.

Would anyone object to Superman having a certain level of arrogance in this movie when it comes to the confrontation?

We know these two are going to fight it out, so Superman saying something like "you're just a man" to Batman, how would people feel about this?

I don't want him to be super cocky such as the guy in Justice League War, but if the little snippet we got from Comic Con, Superman looks pissed off lol so I can see him maybe losing it a little. Maybe he will not instigate anything but Batman will just keep on using full force on him, causing him maybe to do a little more damage to a human being than he would ever do.

As a Superman fan first and foremost, I do not want him to be a doormat in this flick, I want him to give as good as he gets. Not like receives a punch to the face and say something on the lines of "can we talk about this?" etc.

Well... Let me answer this with how I think four different super heroes would handle a drunk picking a fight with them in a bar, and I mean just your average ordinary schmoe that goes up to them and says, "I bet I could kick your ass."

Superman: Supes would look the guy up and down, smile, then say, "Who knows... Maybe you could?" Then he'd fly off because he doesn't care what this idiot thinks and he doesn't want to have to take this guy to a hospital to bandage up his broken hands. Now if this guy had started something with another patron Supes would have interceded and made that guy look like a fool. But he doesn't have anything to prove.

Batman: Batman would take a step back, stare that guy right in the eye and say, "I'd like to see you try." And then just wait for whatever comes, but his assured confidence alone would probably make that dude urinate himself anyway.

Spider-Man: Spidey would start trying to joke and deflect this dudes aggression to placate him even though he could pulverize him to within an inch of his life with one arm webbed around his back. In a lot of ways Pete still acts like that picked on high school kid before he got his power.

Wolverine: Old Logan is the only one that has a two track response. He'd either A. Grin, finish off the mug of beer he has and then swiftly kick that guy in the nuts, or B. Grin, finish off the mug of beer he has and then leave out the front entrance... Then a couple hours later when that dude is fumbling around looking for his car keys in a drunken stupor Logan would reappear and then give him a swift kick in the nuts. Point being, either way... Logan is kicking in someone's nuts. ;)

What in particular is the thinking behind Pitt as Deathstroke? I don't necessarily dispute it but, being a fan of neither the actor or the character, I'm not on the same page.

Yeah, but we can't get him.

The man won't take a 20 million pay cut, mayne. Pitt is one of the few A list celebs who don't have to do these films.

cause angie makes all the money. :o

seriously though, i want both. if we get both alot of people here will be disappointed they're not going to be able to cut those checks in order for suicide squad to be under a 100 million dollars. :o

:woot: lol great response

Pitt also likes to be a part of ensembles and seems to actually work best when in that environment though.

Pitts been very focused on smaller films as of late. He just worked with a sub-100 million dollar film, incidentally with the same director who's about to direct Suicide Squad. What makes you think he wouldn't want to team up again?

He can take a paycut if he gets a percentage of the BO?

Lol

Sam just wants Jaden in the movie that's why he's poo pooing the Pitt suggestion.

More fan casting wishes.

Go ahead and cast Pitt. Oh lawd.

I'd believe it even more...if he were at least rumored.

Some sort of statement about the pointlessness of resistance, made in order to avoid a fight and anyone getting hurt, is fine. If it comes across as arrogance, it has failed, however.

I'm dying for supes to give bats the flippant response he gave swanwick about that wayne satalite.

Bats: that's a 12 million dollar piece of hardware.

Supes: it was.

You actually think he will do it? Come on. :oldrazz:

I betcha he won't.

If Squad is set up as a franchise or his character (say, Deathstroke) was going to be used in a later film (say, a solo Bat flick)? Who knows... (pa Kent voice) "Maybe."

:)

I never would have thought of it until seeing Fury. He played a lethal, hardened, grizzled, battlescarred, calculating and slightly sociopathic tank commander. I was already a fan of Pitt, but his performance in that film surpassed all my expectations. And I've always pictured Deathstroke as an older, experienced tactician who is tough as nails and intimidating as hell. To me, a performance by Pitt similar to what he did in Fury (which was also directed by Suicide Squad's David Ayer) would give us one hell of an awesome Deathstroke.

Provided he'd be willing to take a pay cut.

Hopefully not. Speaking personally, I could live without watching Brad Pitt prance around in an orange leotard.

I'd be thrilled if we could get the Phoenix, Pitt, Dicaprio, into this genre, but it doesn't seem likely. I'm just a realist, mayne.

Jake seems keen to be in one of these films. I don't know what DC/WB is waiting for.
