I don't wish to be mean, but while figuring out a thematically satisfying solution in defeating/hindering a character that's basically a god, you've just pinpointed the one thing that's even less cinematically interesting than shoving a green rock in the guy's face.

We go with the rock.

How is it cinematically interesting when we've seen a guy shove a green rock to Superman's face ever since Christopher Reeve's era?

It's about as cinematically entertaining and interesting as watching a rerun of an old sitcom keep on airing for 24 hours straight.

This rock will show up to defeat Superman.

There is going to be a diner scene. Maybe instead of it being a scene about Lex, they filmed the last scene in the movie involving Clark and Bruce at that diner. Also went to that diner recently and I noticed that they put up a Superman plush toy above the counter.

judging from this pic I bet they shot classic Bruce/Clark scene like this one.

Snyder loves this little things, he never let us down :)

It's in the details. It is just a teaser, but it's a teaser that shows Superman as this distant larger-than-life figure, and when big chunks of the previous film did just that as well, it gives off the vibe that they're skipping over the more important aspects of a benign character. It's cool to see complexity and real world reactions built in, but as long as they don't focus on the things that they've been skimping on, people will remain worried. That teaser did nothing to avoid those knee-jerk reactions.

Mmm. Okay, I can see what you're saying here. I hadn't really thought about it from that perspective, so thanks for explaining it better.

I mean, I'm a Supes girl myself, so I do understand feeling protective of the character. I guess I'm just so intrigued by the fact that they're running with this idea of Superman being regarded in a (fictionally) "realistic" way - as an alien presence - instead of the people of the world kind of uncritically shrugging and going, oh cool, a superhero! that I'm willing to give them some latitude to work it out.

(and thank you all for the welcomes. I can deal with cray-crays. I'm kind of cray-cray myself, but I usually try to pass in polite company. :cwink:)

I know it's been said, but I really hope they can work a cafe scene in at the end of BvS with Clark and Bruce - that would be really funny...at least to the people who watch HISHE...which is basically everyone, right?

Hmm, I wonder if Superman orders decaf since I'm not sure caffeine would do anything to him.

The fight will end when Batman realizes there's no chance in hell of making Superman bleed and then he has to run away like a little schoolgirl. :o

either that or Batman distracts Superman with his collection of nude pictures of Ernest Borgnine, causing Superman severe psychological damage.

(brownie points for anyone who gets the George Carlin joke. :cwink:)

You can't offer brownie points, and then give the answer away.
Do you know how brownie points WORK!!! DO YOU!

I, too, am intrigued by the "realistic" response to Superman's presence that they seem to be going for. especially considering we've never dealt with that in a Superman movie before.

so, it's a refreshing change.

Oh, and welcome to the Hype!!

always great to see a fellow Superman fan! :woot:

I think BvS will explore Superman wanting to get away from the whole Jesus debate. You can tell he never wanted that and its been played out. It was one of gripes critics has about MOS.

Did the teaser trailer seriously get an Honest trailer, a Cinemasins and a HISHE video? Kind of crazy.

Can anyone please tell me what the deal with Batman using that riffle? I know its n the comic but I have yet to read it.

Thanks in advance.

If ya'll look for the Snyder vid about all the concerns regarding superman. He talks about what kind of power it would take to hurt this Superman.

Also, I don't mind kryptonite in this universe. I will wait for Supe fans to complain about that. :oldrazz:

Isn't it hypocritical for Miller's Batman to claim that guns are the weapons of the enemy, and yet he retrofits a rifle to be a grappling gun?

Remembering everyone that in a couple of hours there will be the Warner Panel at Cinemacon..Wondering if there's going to be something BvS related after all the goodies they gave us this week..
