Boy do i hope these future DC films turn his stance on critics hating him around.

Tis a good dream.

Critics have a history of turning up their nose at groundbreaking cinema.

It's the audiences that cause film to ENDURE, and then the critics start reading into cinema they should have been WATCHING to begin with.

I think this is starting to happen with Watchmen. I think it's being reexamined.

And of course, Ebert being ahead of his time. He will be missed :'(

So if I make a movie with mixed critical reviews upon reception that audiences love, I know I've done something right :)

PS. I want to be a director. PM me your screenplays ;)

Ah yes, Robert Ebert, one of the most respected reviewers in the industry and actually liked most of Snyder's films, indeed he will be missed. :csad:

Uh, I though you was not going to this anymore, man?

Mrs. Wayne, call the cops!

:oldrazz:

I think if Batman were NORMAL, he would just move on, or seek therapy, or take up a hobby.

Bruce was a weird kid who got DAMAGED.

Never knew the worlds finest were best buddies as kids.

I want to see this as cannon in the DCEU, especially BvS.

I wouldn't want it in the DCEU, but I think it could make for a good episode on Gotham.

Blegh, ive never been a fan of that. And it wouldn't make any sense in the dceu.

But without them realizing it would've been interesting.

Like what was Clark doing when the Wayne family funeral was on the news 24/7 etc.

I'm having #4 on repeat. It's that good.

If I'm honest, no I haven't seen anything that's particularity wowed me. Mostly because there's a history of the guy in charge promising so much in his trailers and coming up short.

If that's the case, it's disingenuous to say you're being skeptical. Skepticism is neutral. You're being cynical due to preconceptions based on admittedly the previous movie and the director. That's what informs the pattern which is made only by yourself.

Yeah Affleck's speech on the 4th tv spot is top notch.

He's clearly giving it his all for this role.

And the 3rd spot made me really excited to see all the regular banter that goes around in the daily planet.

While I have no problem with your overall stance, I have to disagree with the bolded.

Something looking awesome doesn't mean it is awesome, and there's enough past evidence from the creator to suggest that it would be foolish for one to jump to the conclusion he has knocked it out of the park or fixed his previous weaknesses. Not believing the hype is not cynicism.

People who are optimistic or hyped or favorable of the movie aren't necessarily jumping to conclusions. They're reacting to what has been shown. That's not a judgement on the movie itself which hasn't been seen.

The director is not the creator. Movies are made by a team of people. Previous movies are not evidence of another movie's quality.
