I just saw a journalist saying that BVS looks "super problematic". If you have issues with the movie at this time, I suggest you express them away from me, because that has honestly put me in a throat-slitting mood. :o

Problematic? Eat ****, 14 year old girl on Tumblr trying to look socially responsible.

shh... shh... it's ok Sawyer... the bad man's gone... you're with allies now... you're in a safe place... it's all alright.

No, no... Tell us how you REALLY feel Sawyer... This is a safe place where all opinions are welcomed. :cwink:

Campea hasn't been keen on this movie but I don't think he was against Ben's casting.

I read a few of the top comments on the IGN link posted a couple pages back.....god damn the hate is real, and the sheer amount of ignorance is outstanding. Ignorance is the one thing that grinds my gears when it comes to this movie/the DCEU.

Wasn't Campea one of them people?

Nope. He was one of the defenders of the casting of Ben from the start.

Off topic...

I like Campea A LOT. I think his operation is one of the best, despite that there have been many times when I have disagreed with him. When Movie Talk discusses rumors, they make damn sure they tell you, "Hey, this is a rumor, it's not been confirmed by credible sources, it's just something in the pop culture ether right now and we are going to discuss it, but that don't make it so" or word to that affect.

It's a good group and for the most part I think they are giving us their honest takes on the Entertainment news of the day. Do I think Campea is being unfair (less recently) to Gal Gadot? Sure. It's a bit over the top. But he and the others are entertaining, insightful and passionate and are not TOO fanboy bottom of the barrel, which is why when those types are guests are on the shows. The new narrative is that Campea and the Movie Talk Crew are anti-BVS and that people only ever liked him around here because he has publicly stated how much he loves MOS. See... If they see BvS and all HATE IT, well... if I end up liking it, then I suppose that's just one more point of disagreement I would have with him, but that wouldn't affect how I view the show or how I enjoy the product he brings to us pretty much daily.

Anyway... How bout dat Dark Knight fighting dat Man O' Steel?

I'm pretty sure Jon Campea has been keen on the movie from the very first time it was announced, he almost always spoke highly of it apart from Gal Gadot's casting and the doomsday reveal trailer. He was the only one who thought WB might approach Ben Affleck for the role of Batman before it was announced that Ben was Batman. He and Schnepp were the only two youtube personalities who spoke highly of the decision WB made.

Campea has been quite the booster for BvS for YEARS now. He just didn't like the casting of Gal or the Doomsday reveal in the last trailer. But other than that I can't recall him being particularly down on this film at all. He's said that it's high on his list of 2016 films multiple times.

Ah my mistake, I've only taken notice of his negativity in recent months and the way people talked it seemed like it had been ongoing for a while. But I did remember he was supportive of Ben.

Eh, I'm convinced Campea likes nothing more than the sound of his own voice, he gets far too over the top for my liking.

Judging from the new tv spot Affleck is NAILING it.Calling it now hes going to be the star of the Movie

I have no opinion on him, tbh. Never watch the show myself. Though I do feel people seem to put too much stock in him as a "scooper." When he's saying stuff they wanna hear, anyway.

You should do yourself a favor and not read any of the IGN comments. That community is a very toxic one.

I like the concept of the show as a daily movie news blog, but he makes it very difficult to watch. The show is too fanboy-ish IMO. I wish there was better version of that show because the concept itself is good, it's just let down by the people in front of the camera.

Off topic... Again... (sorry) :csad: :woot:

I think it would be unwise to put any faith in Campea as a "scooper" at all since that's really not what he does on Movie Talk, like, at all. He doesn't break scoops per se and the set up of the shows is about discussion and analysis (and some funny stuff too) more than breaking stories. You should watch the daily MOVIE TALK show flick, along with the weekly HEROES from COLLIDER.

Any way... Bats v Supes...

I'll have to give it a shot one of these days, I suppose. Like jmc, I do like the concept, at least.

Campea's an alright dude on BvS and DC.

But man his hate for Gal as Wonder Woman is real.

Say whaaaa? John Campea has been one of the biggest defenders of BvS and Ben Affleck

I had one of the few conversations I've had regarding BvS and the DCEU a couple of days ago with two friends.
I tend to avoid the topic because it gets me nowhere and typically just ends up being me saying I'm excited and anyone else saying a bunch of inaccurate stuff because they don't follow the information, which isn't their fault really. But it's a tiring conversation cycle.

One, who liked MoS, restated his view that while he thinks SS looks great, he thinks BvS will end up bloated. That he may end up liking it but ultimately they're trying to cram too much stuff into to set up the universe. He loves the Marvel cinematic universe and basically believes if DC wants a shared universe they should be patterning themselves after that. I showed him the WW footage which he liked.

The other isn't a DC fan so didn't have much to say other than he said he thinks they're trying to make WW a "female Superman" and also that she's basically DC's Thor. He said the footage looked like TV(no idea how but whatchagonnado?). He also thought she was riding a motorcycle which tells me he barely paid attention.

Either way, I'm just gonna be glad when BvS is released. Not only for my own viewing pleasure but so we can finally move past the rumors and misinformation stage.
Then finally we can know for sure all these ideas that are debated prior to release. "Is it too packed?" "Is DC forcing this stuff too much?" "Is Terrio any good?" Etc etc.

Considering its now exactly 2 months until release, how many more trailers (excluding TV spots) do you think we're going to get? And if so, when do you think we'll get them? Marketing is really ramping up now.
