You can't worry about the future so much that you ignore what's going on in the present... Bats is totally wrong for doing this...and he's likely going to be kicking himself later for being so focused on Supes, because it kept him from seeing the real enemy: Lex. So, he's going to learn that his attitude was wrong; he'd have to in order to team with Supes.

Can say the same thing about Superman. He's going to be kicking himself later for asking Batman to hang up his cape. They're both going to learn the hard way, it certainly won't be a one way street.

Still curious as hell as to what is going on in this shot though...Is that Bruce? Is he just killing those people?

I hope it's a frame-up or a dream :yay:

I'm still convinced someone (Lex) might be framing Bats, to make Supes think he's worse than he is, in order to inflame Bats' paranoia.

Um.... again, nope. Bruce is an idiot... focusing on potential problems instead of real problems is ALWAYS the wrong answer. Think Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tony is so damned worried about aliens destroying the planet that he creates a machine that-- surprise-- almost does the very thing he was worried about!

This is not about applying ordinary standards to extraordinary beings; this about the fact that paranoia and worry are more destructive than any Superman could be. Bats attacking Supes is like trying to destroy a country just because they could destroy your country..... imagine what the world would be like if people really operated that way.

Bats has reason to be worried, sure, but his obsession with Superman's possible evilness is clearly blinding him....which I suspect will allow Lex to operate under his nose and create Doomsday, a factual problem rather a potential one which, if Bruce hadn't been so focused on Supes, might have been avoided.

Well while Bruce maybe be wrong in the end he has great reason to feel what he feels before hand. You say we shouldn't operate out of fear. But he shouldn't take things lightly. Personally I think there is something that pushes Batman in that direction.

Secondly, Clark/Superman has a problem with Batman. That conversation he has with Alfred probably comes after confronting Superman and things went a certain way to confirm Batman's views.

Either Bruce has crossed his line or it's something like Lex controlling the jet and killing people to set him up.

Maybe like this, but with Lex behind the controls instead. There's a clip of Batfleck with his teeth grit, maybe that's when he's lost control of the Batplane.

I think it would be interesting if Bruce helped Lex in some way not realizing that Lex was the real villain. Like if Lex needed something that helped him gain access to the alien technology or whatever. All because Bruce is consumed with Superman.

It's probably Lex. But I would not be suprised if that was Bats,

I'm for that. I'm disliking Bats' position on Supes because it's based on fear of Supes' power. But power can be acquired and developed by just about anyone...not just aliens. Ultimately, humanity can be a bigger danger to itself than any one alien....given the right circumstances. Bats' biggest mistake is forgetting that.

That would be Bruce's fatal flaw in the movie. This all sounds epic.

The individual parts - certainly the first - should be able to stand on their own, though. MOS, in my opinion, did very little to satisfactorily address its own themes, and that's part of what makes it such an underwhelming film. The same can't be said for E7.

Man, I totally disagree with this. I enjoyed both movies, but to me they both suffer from similar issues and felt like something was missing. The difference being that fanboys choose to look past those issues for SW.

The dialogue was quite strong as well. Nice job, Mr. Terrio.

Jesse? Is that you?

Oh, nice catch! I could definitely see that shot being Lex taking over the Batwing.

It's a dream sequence. Batsy doesn't kill. :o

I picture an angry, mentally drained Batman feeling lost and a little helpless after the attack on Metropolis. Luthor sends him that newspaper with "You let your family die." He causes the Batjet to 'malfunction' and kill those criminals. He invites Bruce Wayne to a party where he knows a reporter who isn't exactly a Batman fan will be. And then he lets slip to Bruce that he has a mysterious radioactive rock that might be harmful to Superman in his possession. Hopefully nobody takes it...

Batman dreams of killing people using the Batplane because he always wanted to but he never went all the way.

Fair enough.

"Batman dreams of killing people using the Batplane because he always wanted to but he never went all the way."

^ That's my ideal scenario. His worst fear.

Okay let's break down what the human race in this world has seen

One normal day in metropolis you see the news reports rolling in of a ufo sighting. This isn't fake this is the REAL DEAL. It's scares everyone, this is going to change what we know about the universe. That's enough to shake you right there. Then It gets worse,, the aliens send a message. A message that would leave anyone chilled to the bone. If you don't give us back this one thing we will destroy you. My gut reaction isn't to shelter this thing (because I'm not brave) my reaction is "find that thing and give them what they want for god sakes!".
From there we all know what happened. Metropolis is falling apart, this feels like end times. This is how the human race dies. You don't know what the hell is happening. All you can see is two flying destructive things hitting each other, causing wreckage everywhere they go.
Then...it all stops. We are left to put the pieces back together, count our dead and ask ourselves 'what the hell just happened?
We as humans want to give reason to something. If wrong was done, we need to find a culprit to punish. We feel someone needs to be held responsible in the wake of a tragedy.
The only culprit left is superman. No one asked him to be our savior, in fact he may offend those with strong religious beliefs but that's a whole other side.
Just look at from a new side and you'll see where Bruce is coming from.

No haha. It's definitely Lex's doing. We heard Snyder say Lex is the puppet master in this. Lex wants to pit Batman and Superman against each other.

And Bats takes it cause Supes has tried shutting him down, and he thinks that he's responsible for the "malfunction" as a result. Perfect set up.

1. Superman saved the planet...even Alfred knows this.
2. No doubt Lois has written about this.
3. Bruce has high up contacts who must have told him that he is not an enemy.
4. Batman provokes Superman somehow leading to first contact with Superman, who does not harm him. Only warns. By busting up his wheels...Batman mad... Batman jelly.
5. Batman provokes Superman...again. He is the aggressor.
6. Superman lets him live.
7. They come to an understanding.

Maybe batman is testing him to see if he can be pushed to harm or kill if antagonized. When he doesn't and maybe sacrifices himself again, Bruce finally understands and trusts.

...or not. :cwink:

Another new TV spot aired during the X-Files! Hopefully it's online soon.

I was honestly joking about it, but that would go nicely with this quote.
"If Clark wanted, he could use his superspeed and squish me into the
cement. But I know how he thinks. Even more than the Kryptonite, he's got
one big weakness. Deep down, Clark's essentially a good person... and
deep down, I'm not."
