Unhinged would probably have been a better word.

I can sort of see where you're coming from, but I ultimately disagree. Bruce is definitely angry, but I think he's doing a fine job of keeping his composure. He's passionately expressing himself with a logical argument, which isn't what I'd expect from an unhinged or demented person.

Since when has jmc liked anything? lol it's his shtick at this point.

I'm curious. What do you gain from mocking someone who has a different opinion than you?

Anger, paranoia, and obsession is built into the core of Batman. This is such a non-issue.

He lost Robin, his employees died, he is losing his mission in life as the war on crime is not stopping as the Joker kills more people, and the hope of finally stopping someone who appeared to "bring the war" to him is providing a newfound passion he didn't realise he had. Yeah, I'd say the "intense" reaction is appropriate :mnm:

Why are you saying this to me? I don't have a problem with the characterization in the TV spot.

I'll put it this way - the angrier an interpretation of Batman gets the less likeable the character is to me.
I didn't think you were giving serious opinion which is why I just did the gif. Everyone is entitled to opinion of course. I'm a bit surprised that you aren't stoked to see the real Bruce at times being able to channel the anger, rather than the public rich guy no cares in the world playboy act.

Didn't see people complain about anger in the past trilogy. [YT]/watch?v=cuej22Iy-GU[/YT]

Now it matters? :whatever:
Kind of a different thing. Batman's whole goal in that movie was to use fear against the criminal element. Just trying to scare the dude.

Exactly.

I'm curious how you could interpret it as mocking or for the sake of only having a different opinion. That's just absurd and a tired defense that gets overused.

JMC might want to skip the whole Extended Universe together and wait for a reboot

As I've stated before I'm on Batmans side. Batman fan boy for life and all that crap.
But for the love of the trinity HE IS NOT PERFECT.
He's been wrong in the comics, even out right stupid. But his character is so strong and interesting because he is the very definition of a 'die hard' (sorry John McClain)
When he believes in something he is nothing but steadfast in his mission. When his parents died he arrogantly NEVER forgot it. He's a little crazy like that.
On into his adult years he still just can't let it go. That's what makes him so damn endearing. Wether you agree with him dosent matter because he's always been true to himself and his motivations will not be swayed. He is the BATMAN

I love how these spots focus on each character's POV of each other.

If I were to nitpick one thing that leads to speculation, when Bruce is angry at Superman for doing (what he thinks he did) the destruction of Metropolis, did anyone have this thought: "if they survived, why not check the cameras?"

I don't think Bruce questions that Superman was defending the Planet. The issue is the implications that come with that kind of power left unchecked

And stoicism.

Do I exist? Are we FINALLY getting COMIC Batman? :wow:

Pretty sure if someone had the time and the motivation they could easily come up with a whole post full of comic panels and YouTube video links that prove that this unhinged intensity is perfectly in line with the character of Bruce Wayne.

Where I'm a coming from is Batman is a more relatable character to me if it isn't pure rage and paranoia the fuels him. The character to me is better when he's using his brains not his emotions.

I don't think there is a need. Most of us seem to be grasping those intangibles in the performance.

"Since when does he like anything? lol."

It sounds like you're mocking him to me.

I'm working on it JEEEZ

Thats kind of Batman's thing though. I'm all for different opinions but on this one it sounds like it's the character you don't jive with and not so much the characterization they're portraying.

Dressing up as a bat and fighting criminals is pretty unhinged.

For a long time now Batman has been described as psychologically unhealthy, a borderline villain, etc.

Nah, let them mock. Their 'boos', their 'hisses' only makes me stronger, lol.

Except he's using his brains to take down Superman.

It's a crazy idea, but I've never thought Batman was crazy for doing it, if that makes sense.

For a long time now Batman has been described as psychologically unhealthy, a borderline villain, etc.

Personally, I hate those interpretations. In my mind, Batman is a rational individual who's firmly on the side of good. He's human, so he's capable of being consumed by his own rage, but I'd be very uninterested in seeing him like that all the time.

Batman is born out of obsession.

His parents we're killed when young, cant get over it, so he becomes Batman and takes on criminals. He sees himself more as Batman more than Bruce.

Superman appearing in the Metropolis destruction resulting in more death thus leading to Batman's current reaction falls in line to what the character is.

Thanks to Mrs. Wayne for the gif of Bruce in Metropolis:

As I said in the other thread, don't know if this was deliberate, but there's quite a visual similarity here.
