I just hated Pa Kent.

I was fine with him till that tornado scene. Why go alone into danger to save your dog when you have a super kid to do that for you? :P It would've saved the entire family some pain. I see the need to provide Clark some point in his life where he starts to question his existence though. That entire scene could've been re-written simply with Clark being somewhere else and notified a minute too late (because his dad wouldn't want Clark to worry), arriving just in time to see his dad being sucked into the tornado to be lost forever.

I wish they would explain why Jor-El gave his son a blue suit with a red cape when everyone else on Krypton had brown/bronze on.

The Kryptonian castes were color coded. Soldiers=Black, Royalty=Green/Gold. And since Supes found his on a scout ship Astronauts=Red/Blue.

That's what I took from it.

To be fair, that isn't saying much. I don't agree that MoS was a masterpiece, but it is definitely better then some haters on here insist. I just hated Pa Kent.

ETA: for me, Pa Kent was the biggest flaw. I got over the Jesus stuff, and liked the rest of it. I thought Lois and Ma Kent were wonderful, and I actually think Cavill will go down as the definitive live-action Superman. The rest of the stuff that I didn't like are nit-picks.

What? Pa Kent was the reason that Clark became Superman. You might not agree with his methods, but no two parents are the same. Especially not parents raising alien children.

I think because Clark was young and headstrong. Pa Kent sacrificed himself to drive the point home. Since he was raising a God, he had to go big. If he screwed up being an influence, it could cost the entire human race.

Pa Kent also taught him to be wary of the intentions of others (a good lesson for the like of dealing with Lex)

Pa Kent also fostered his love for the human race.

Pa Kent didn't hide from him who he was once he was old enough to understand it.

Pa Kent taught him (through his death) that self-sacrifice for something bigger than yourself is an acceptable decision to make.

GMA will be having a giant event to kick off the countdown to BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: Dawn of Justice!!! Pa Kent was brilliant character, and deep to understand by a random dummie (no offence)

Pa Kent's death was choice of himself and Clark. Whether Clark could save him? of course he could but he didn't "want".
Imagine you are the person who adopted the god damn alien from literally another planet in this real world we live in! how the hell would you deal with it??

As much as that was Clark's choice, that was Nolans, Goyers and Zacks choice, that is filmmaking you cant argue with choices.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm going to see the movie. Most people who will see the movie already have decided to go. The trailer hits when it hits. We have a tendency to over think things here.
