I'm really excited by the notion that there are multiple visions by multiple characters, and the hints of Darkseid, as it, I hope, will help explain some of the out of character aspects of Bruce's thinking.
Namely, the "if there's even a 1% chance. . . we have to take it as an absolute certainty" crap.
That's not how Batman works.
Yes, he plans for even the most remote possibility, and is always prepared, but he doesn't preemptively put those plans into action before that 1% chance ever happens.
I'm hoping that Bruce's thinking is being influenced by Darkseid, or his coming presence, etc.
I like where they've positioned the character to push him in this direction, and the possibility of Luthor manipulating in the background, but it should take more than a Bat-mid-life crisis to push Bruce to the point of actually considering crossing that line.
