Lol this cast
I wish they had done more promotion together

This movie has a weird attraction to it. I have seen it 3 times and I feel like I need to watch it again every time i listen to the soundtrack.

Would have been quite cool if they used the same scene in Justice League cartoon when Superman says to Darkseid about holding his powers back and then punches the hell out of him. They could have easily done that in Man Of Steel when he was fighting Zod.. specially seeing as he was bullied as a kid and always held back although he wanted so badly to hit them.

I saw 3 times too. I think after the second viewing I have a better feel for its world.

I'm really itching for a sequel. I think some people will appreciate MOS more after MOS 2 gives it better context.

Zod's suit on krypton was CGI?????whaaaaat??????????

:shock

Most all of the footage of the Kryptonians wearing that armor was CGI. I figured everyone kinda knew that by now... they use CGI in almost every scene these days for one reason or another.

Hell, in the movie Green Lantern his entire suit is CGI in every scene, pretty amazing but even so it just seems lame knowing they're moving so much to computer based stuff nowadays.

Clark standing at the edge of the helicopter platform and holding up the falling tower reminds me of Superman in The Mad Scientist standing on the edge of a rooftop and holding up the falling Daily Planet.

In Green Lantern it's lame, as the CGI is poor. In Man of Steel it's amazing, since the suits used in the Krypton scene don't look like CGI. At all.

I seriously hate the Green Lantern CGI suit :cmad:

The suits on Krypton were cgi
No..some had to be practical. 0.o
I mean the shot of the armor assembling on Jor was obviously cgi but aside from that.

So anyways, I have a question. I remember seeing references to Kara in this thread weeks ago. I've seen the movie and read the novel and there's no Kara at all, so what was going on there? Were you guys just reading too much into the Kryptonian ships?

Also, movie's missing a couple cool scenes. Check out the novelization. Not great but it's cool.

Can you give us scene descriptions?

If I recall, most of the Kryptonian suits were CGI, but Faora's was actually practical (except for the helmet).

Read the prequel comics,
Kara was inside the kryptonian ship

Any chance you read the prequel MOS comic? That would answer your question.

The ship that Clark found belonged to Kara from thousand of years ago. You can read the prequel comic here...

What cool stuff did they do in the novel?

I think she is in the prequel comic.

Edit: Too slow :oldrazz:

Can you give us scene descriptions?

A couple doctor visits as a child. One with baby Kal screaming so loud it breaks windows for miles in Smallville. Them going to many doctors to see what's wrong (never going to the same one twice). Jor El in full "Superman" outfit.

There's more, but I cannot think of it now. Only seen the movie today because of my achilles injury had kept me home for the past few weeks. It'll come to me.

Kryptonians closer to John Byrne designs from descriptions
All animals of Krypton are genetically engineered (Jor's flying creature is part sea mammal for intelligence and aerodynamic body, part insect for stable flight and part cybernetic)
Everyone has a name. Woulda never known the scientist on Zod's ship was Jax Ur
Captain of the ship marveling at the greenhorns ability to work like no other, not be bothered by the cold and conditions or the haziing from the other shipmates
The oil rig scene Kal in totally naked, also, there are lots of other ships helping the rescue effort not just the one
He goes by the name Joe when he's wondering the world
He communicates with the whales ... and revisits them later in the story after he learns how to fly
Jor in full Superman regalia
The two house robots described like Byrne era Kryptonian robots
Last Days Of Krypton heavily referenced
Kryptonian tech has a huge basis in biology. Everything that looked flowing and like bone in the buildings was actually bone. The weapons are part metal and part bone too. Weapons are handed down through families as is everything else (all the carvings on everything on Krypton tells the object's history, who used it, etc)

Will think of more later.

Prequel comic huh? How is Kara used? Is she still his cousin?
