Including Mercy would be a nice way to tie Wonder Woman's mythology into all of this, and make for an interesting twist. Since she's an Amazon, if I remember correctly.

Why aren't people talking about non-Earth based villains anymore and only mentioning Lex, Metallo and the Joker? I still have very high hopes that we could see an alien threat in all this.

Considering on how MOS heavily featured the whole Alien Invasion/First Contact factor into it, I think it might be better to lay off the extraterrestrial threats for the next film and I do think that Brainiac being in this film would be overkill since there wouldn’t enough time to do him justice with everything that’s possibly going on in the film already.

I also think that he should be allowed to appear in a solo superman film later on and not be used for a JL film since I’d like to see Superman take down one of his main villains on his own.

Different films need different threats. The first one had the big alien threat, this next film will likely be much more Earth-bound. Take, for instance, the guaranteed inclusion of Batman and the probable inclusion of Lex, two human characters. That, plus the set-up at the end of "Man Of Steel" of Clark making a double life for himself that includes living and working among humans... Yeah, I think the next film is going to be more grounded.

That, plus a much more rush schedule to get the film going and done means much less time for big alien threat VFX.

The only thing I'm worried about with this one is the structure. For a Batman and Superman film maybe two villains the structure HAS to be nailed. Practically flawless. And that worries me as one of the issues with Goyer's writing is his structure.

People say that MoS is far too rushed when Cavill dons the cape but I disagree it just isn't placed at the right time. With Batman Begins it was all laid out perfectly. All the important, character building flashbacks were in order and before Bruce became Bats. Therefore when he finally had his first scene, it may have felt like a long time but it wasn't boring it felt right.

With MoS you had a few out of order flashbacks (which never helps character development IMO) and then you had him wear the costume, fly and then you had more flashbacks. I love MoS but it just doesn't work structured like that. When he has that suit on you are like "woah, already?" even if it is an awesome scene. Which it is. The flying scenes and the flashbacks are filled with great content and important content but with them jumbled up and the flying scene splashed right in the middle it doesn't work for me.

I think the flying scene would have been so much more had it been after the scenes where Pa Kent dies and he is being bullied. It would have felt much more like a "YES!" moment he he finally is in that costume flying for the first time. After all the crap he has been through and the choices laid upon him by his fathers THIS is what it amounted to.

Structure will be so important in SvB as each character needs their moment.

Both Avengers 2 and Episode VII are going to be shooting next year, both likely starting in spring 2014. With the buzz about filming locations and Snyder already prepping, seems like they want to start in January.

Chances are Goyer was working on a script before MoS was even released. WB had A LOT of faith in Man of Steel.

I hope Snyder had the clout to say "no 3D" when he agreed to make the MOS sequel into 'Superman vs. Batman'. Not only was the converted 3D half-assed, it didn't work with the handheld shots at all.

An alien threat would be too similar to what we got in MOS1.

I've always felt that it was the partnership of Superman and Batman that ran the Justice League, much like the partnership of Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons when they run KISS. Both would have equal say on the future of the JLA.

I think Jon Hamm will be cast as Batman

I also think a sequel to Superman vs Batman will be Trinity, used to introduce Wonder Woman, I don't think she'll get a solo film until she's introduced in Trinity.

I also think either Superman vs Batman or a solo Superman sequel will introduce Kara.

I'm guessing if the new Flash tv show is a success and they can cast a good enough actor as Barry that Arrow and Flash will be connected to the cinematic universe. I don't think Green Arrow will appear in any DC movies though.

I'm also guessing that any new Batman films will introduce the Bat family

Weird, I like Jon Hamm but don't feel he will be cast. Also I think the Trinity rumor will fall through and we will just get a JL beginnings film. I also don't see it being a VS movie.

I'm starting to like the idea of Lex Metallo and Deathstroke as the villains.

A solo Superman sequel could feature Lex and Brainiac

Then the JL film could feature Darkseid

You know the more I think about it the more I think its too soon for this film. Yes we have an established Superman in Henry Cavill, people have invested in his take already due to Man of Steel but this new Batman could be problematic with it been a new guy. We all say yes its Superman and Batman on screen together but it might not seem that way to most. It might be hey its Superman and so and so as Batman. My main point is that this new Batman hasn't had a chance for people to invest in him like Cavill has had and Bale had with the Nolan films. I really think this could make a huge difference to the box office numbers. WBs really should have rebooted Bats and done a MOS 2 before this.

What about the villains of the film being, primarily, Lex and United States government that he has incredible influence over? Instead directly adapting the President Lex aspect of Public Enemies, you have a reflection of our own reality in the film by having corporate/Wall Street entity Lex Luthor holding no political office, but still having having power over politics and, by extension, the military? I think that's more interesting than shoehorning in as many comic book villains as possible.

Yes, though, I'm sure there's still room for Metallo to provide some necessary punching scenes.

Brainiac's too soon. Save him for JL and perhaps throw in Starro(following a somewhat Lovecraftian style). Plus the audience by now wants stuff other than alien invasion movies as seen in movies like Avengers & MOS.

Is there any evidence to suggest Snyder is capable of delivering a good structure? He failed miserably with MoS and that had one superhero, how in the hell is he going to do two?
