SupermanFanboy can react however he likes to my review. Let it go people.

You'd think that with the amount of times they used it in the movie they were overdoing it....but no, I never got tired of it, it never freakin' fails in getting you all hyped and excited. Adrenaline rush while sitting down.

Actually, they
only used it twice right?

JMC thank you for your review of the movie; it was a pleasure to read and considering it's the best comic book movie since TDK for you is always great to hear!! Especially from what I'm hearing is your not a huge fan of the first 3 DCEU movies! I hope you would love to go see it again

Wasn't a fan at all of the last couple of movies, and yes I will be seeing again. :)

I'm not gonna go back and check from your history from the get go, but from the past few weeks I've been here, you've been "worrying" a lot, to the point where it became unrealistic

Without checking Facts before accusing is not how you do things man!! Especially If your gonna go out on an attack and put out to everyone "Hey I believe he is a Troll? Anyone else agree with me!" Think before you act!

Also I'm still failing to see how I have been "worrying" a TON?? Especially as you said majority of my posts is "worrying"! Again your low post count speaks volumes and I don't know you and you don't know me but I can tell you right now I have shown nothing but majority support and positivity and had great conversations with multiple members on this forum about everything!! Period! That is all i will say! Hope to see you around more maybe you will get to know me better and hell maybe we will become friends! Just be careful dude with accusations

Awesome! That Sounds great I'm glad to hear it! Cool to note that people who liked/loved it...Loved it even MORE the second time! Would love to hear your second viewing thoughts after you see it again! I promise I won't be "worrying" :sly:

apparently Jenkins wants the invisible jet in the sequel..

I may as well get straight to the point. It's the best DC film since The Dark Knight.

8/10

Can't wait to hear that badass guitar theme again in the film.

Guitar? I thought it was an electric cello.

It's an electric cello.

jmc, excellent review. Sounds like you liked the other DCEU moves less than I did, which means I may well like this one more than you did, and you liked it quite a bit, so that's cool.

Um... on the subject of WW's theme, as others have pointed out, that is an electric cello, and the theme was co-composed and performed by this lovely lady here, Tina Guo:

She's a classically trained cellist who is into heavy metal, and has performed with a lot of a-list artists.

So this movie works because it embraces the superhero aspect, instead of trying to deconstruct it?

More the hero aspect than superhero. It doesn't question why someone wants to do the right thing.

Invisible jet is the dumbest thing in WW's mythos.

Oh, that's really cool to see.

I haven't felt this way since TDK. Full review when I get home.

Waaaaaat?? JMC liked WW?? So much so that he thinks it's close to TDK !!!!

The DCEU curse is broken !!!!! :D :D

If I have any concerns about the movie it's only that I really, really love MoS and BvS and am bored as hell with the Marvel movies at this point all being so samey... so I want WW to be a great movie and I'm glad it seems to have a broader audience appeal than BvS did, but the thing for me is, I've been watching superhero movies my whole life, and I'm 40 now, sort a geezer-geek, if you will, and I liked the fact that MoS wasn't trying to be like the Donner film and its sequels that I grew up with. I enjoyed that BvS was a deconstructionist superhero movie. I enjoyed the Shakespearean structure and the psychological depth to the characters.

I don't need all superhero movies to be like that, of course, but I certainly don't need them not to be. What I'm really concerned with is having something to think about after the movie, having something to talk about at some length. I write a blog about movies, current events, and whatever I feel like writing about, really; I do movie reviews. And I can't ever write reviews for the Marvel movies because there's nothing to sink my teeth into. I just hope that isn't the case with WW, but based on jmc's review it sounds like I don't need to worry.

Also from what I hear from many reviews, this film has a nice emotional center from an anti-war position, which leads up to WW fighting the Greek god of war himself, which is certainly thematic. I love a film with a rich subtext. People talking about a movie being fun as being what makes it good put in mind of a guy raving about how cool his car looks, but under the hood is nothing but a hamster in a wheel.

So how come there were all these showings on Wednesday night? I went to the theater today to see Pirates and there was a line for a WW showing. And now y'all already went and saw it. (Barring Aussies and the like.)

Oh, that's really cool to see.

It is. She's got a youtube channel, and there's a single version of the WW theme that she just released, I'd link the video but it's, uh... I mean it's not like she's naked in it... well okay she's naked in it, but you don't see anything, it's just... I'm not sure it'd go over well with the mods if I shared it here. But it's out there if you check out her channel.

The film definitely has a nice balance. It has its funny moments (plenty actually) that weren't corny, cringy, or forced at all. It has drama and emotional aspects that were really well portrayed, and it has social commentary also, mostly about the nature of mankind. The action scenes were well shot and choreographed also IMO. You'll enjoy this for sure. :woot:

Awesome! I'm pretty stoked, if occasionally nervous. :woot:

I gotta wait until Friday evening, though, my work schedule being what it is. :csad:

Just saw it and just loved it. It's a great ride and hits all the emotional and moral beats that a Wonder Woman movie should. There are weak points here and there (dialogue, directing and definitely CG) but they're mostly minor and few. The positives blow it all away.

Great movie. And Gadot sells every moment of it.

Well this is my favorite thing I've read about it yet.
