Comics "Alpha Mutants": The Official Discussion Thread

And with Storm, anyone could say that she IS Omega. Uncanny X-men #147 where Claremont says she has Infinite power..which is Omega. And that Twelve Storyline where she trancends into an elemental being. So you can never say never with Storm.

I can see how Storm could be construed as an omega and later on the writers may very well classify her as one and it would be beliveable but at the moment she is not an omega, simple as that. I know the definition for Omega is not very clear and many people have different definitions but so far Storm does not really match up to many of them. I do understand there are some times when Storm has fufilled certain criteria but those types of behaviour or expression of her power have only been seen briefly or in a very small number of cases. Also, some of these stories have occurred in different timelines so they don't really count. Another reason Storm is not an omega level mutant is she hasn't be classified to eb one. I know that the term omega mutant is fairly new but if Storm were really that high a power than she would have been one of the first mutants to have been classified. Though she is powerful and is very creative with her power she does not have inifinte power or infinte potential. Also, Storm often exaggerates her power or status often to indimidate opponents or stop fights and it is a very good tactic. It may be possible thats some of the things she says she can do are lies she uses to indimidate her opponent.

I KNOW SHE IS NOT OMEGA. Why do you keep saying that. I said she CAN be Omega. Or could be called an Omega.

Please people please!!! THIS IS MADNESS!!!!

She is not Storm, she is not Ororo... she is QUEEN ORORO :p

Don't blame Storm, blame the writer who made her say it.

Well just because she said her powers are infinite doesn't really mean anything. I could say I can bleed waffles out of my eyes but I really can't.

Storm is the writer who writes her.

I wasn't posting that in response to what you said. I was talking to HoF. Anyway how would you guys class people with super strength? It seems a strange question but it depends what perspective you take.

Queen Ororo does not lie. If she says her power is infinite, then it so is.

Super-strenght, being a physical power... I'd classify it as beta. Unless there is massive super-strenght, like Hulk level or Thor level

The thing is, the writers write that for her. Clarmont was the writer for that issue.

I agree with you...on the super strength thing. I too would classify it as a beta level because if you think about it there power if confined to their bodies.

Sure is. Isn't the Hulk's power confined to his body right? Cause Sebita said besides Hulk and Thor.

Yer that's where I don't agree. I would say all super strength is a beta level power. I think Sebita classified him as an alpha because he is the exceptionally strong.

Has any of the FFbeen classified as Alpha? If so, then Johnny should be Alpha for sure.

Well I dunno know because this type of classification has only been used for mutants and the Fantsatic Four ain't mutants.

Thisis just a ranodm qwuestion on FF. Since Reed and Sue aren't mutants, is Franklin a mutant?

Hulk isn't a mutant either (even though in the movieverse he is a latent one... damn that movie). I merely said Hulk Level Strenght, or Thor Level Strenght, which is far too immense to be purely physical.

Yes he is. Just because they are not mutants doesn't mean anything. Mutants can be born from normal parents and often are. Reed and Susan are just radiated

So how does that make him a mutant?

Because he was born with the X-gene. Your parents dont have to be mutants for you to be born a mutant(didint I just say that?)

The way I see it is that Sue and Reeds genes got messed up or maybe they both carry the dormant X-Gene and they passed it on.
