The Amazing Spider-Man Already in Post-Production?!

WTF why can't this movie be out this summer then!? This could have been released in July.
I wonder if some of the actors are signed on to other films. Because it will not take more than year of post production. Why did sony start filming so early with a 90 day of shooting?

They stop filming by April. March is probably full of reshoots and stuff. They might film a special trailer like they did for Spider-Man 1.

I KNO, RITE?

Just look at another classic, box-office smash hit rushed out that did just fine: GI Joe!

SO YAH. I agree. SPIDERMAN SUMER 2010!

GO JOE!

Nobody takes 16 months for post production. That is ridiculously stupid. GI Joe's script was terrible. It wasn't because they needed one extra month to edit the movie.

The more time to process the film with all the 3D effects, the better :)

you could argue that spidey has some of the most complex effects you can have, a human doing superhuman things. it has to move right and have weight and I'm pretty sure that stuff takes time.

It's not in post yet. Like others have said, they finish in April. Also, they still have to film in NY for two weeks.

Not 16 months. That's ridonk. I bet they are 100% done and sitting on this movie before fall.

NOBODY...?

But yah. Let's be honest. Everything was terrible about GI JOE...

and the next one will be even teribbler!

Have mercy!

If people are expecting Avatar quality effects for this movie due to the 16 month post production...then they are crazy:o

Then again Avatar was in 'production' back in 2005.

Maybe we'll get SUPER lucky and we'll get some Avatar quality acting...!

A boy can dream.

As far as we know there has to be alot of editing

Guys, it's not about 16 months of post-production! This movie could be ready for this Christmas but there are already Chipmunks 3, Mission: Impossible 4, Tintin, Sherlock Holmes 2, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and War Horse! There's no space! March and April are good for smaller films like Clash of the Titans or Fast Five. In May: Avengers, Madagascar, Battleship and Sony's Men in Black. And the other big summer season month is July so it was an easy decision! A lot of stupid messages here...

I could have sworn Dyskstra (visual effects supervisor) said the train sequence took 2 years.

This means they'll have plenty of time to make the visual effects superb, same for the 3D. :)

Yes, they can start editing before they finish shooting, but usually it works out so they finish production first, then import all the footage, then edit it with the whole studio working on it, as oppose to one part of the studio, which in this case would be. So it could be either way.

and DDRSkata... fyi they'll be using Avid not Final Cut. :p lol

I was saying they won't be using Final Cut, although now that I think about it, they might because it's the best thing to use with RED, and they're shooting with the new Epic.

Can we please stop posting threads based on IMDb.

I just wanted to add that GI Joe was pure and utter garbage the filmmakers should serve jail time.

The end.

there was only 2 years between the releases of 1 and 2.

Actually that's a good point. They're Codec is only released to Apple, or at least that was last i heard. Even so they'll be ways to transfer the footage into Avid. So who knows, guess it'll be up to the studio what they want to do.

TBH i don't really care what they edit it in, just as long as it looks AMAZING. :woot::awesome:

They were still writing the script 2 years before the movie came out. They started filming in I think May of 2003.

^^ Yeah, you're right. Sam stated that the script was being written before the DVD for the first film was even out.

They are not taking 16 months of post production. They just happen to have the time.

Right...so why sit on this movie for a year? This could have easily been released this July. Plus this year...it wouldn't be up against TDKR which will immediately squish it.
