I've heard a couple of his CD's. Maybe I think too much about what he's really saying and just don't find him all that funny as a result. He's humorous at times but I really find him to be overrated.

Yeah, I think it's amazing how hit or miss comedy is. More so than music. I think guys like Dane Cook, Daniel Tosh, and Nick Swardson are pretty damn hilarious; but I always found it funny how much I disliked Mitch Hedberg(R.I.P.) and mosr people thought he was Jesus.

Jerry Seinfeld is not a cerebral comedian, most of his material is just general observations, doesn't require a lot of thought. That's not to say I don't think he's funny, just don't find a lot of thought in his comedy. I find George Carlin and Dennis Miller more as cerebral comics. That's just the way I'd classify them though.

He's observational, yes, but he's rather verbal about it and the goof about his act is that he's being somewhat cerebral about nothing at all (sort of like his television series). No, he's definitely not a full on cerebral comic like George Carlin or Dennis Miller or Lenny Bruce by any means, but he's more cerebral than Dane Cook in my opinion.

Daniel Tosh is funny as hell. Not everything appeals to everyone, and comedy's no exception. As for Cook, I hope the guy grabs it while he's hot and makes a kabillion dollars with his success.

He's really smart with his money; he doesn't squander it at all. Reminds me of a Chris Rock joke about him still driving an Altima regardless of how much money he has.

Ah, the "nerd" comics. They're pretty good. David Cross is a comedic genius.

yup, they're the nerdy fan-boy comics, well, at least Oswald is. they're three of the most intelligent and ballsy comics out there these days.

For nerd comedians you don't get better than Brian Posehn IMO.

his name alone annoys me.... let god throw a meteor on top of him and end the madness already.

Check out some of John Leguizamo's live one-man shows, particularly the HBO specials he's done. If you like guys who can act spazmodic and be funny while still having some really fresh, original material, he's your man.

i never liked leguizamos stand up... he is just TOO much, you know... like robin willliams. like you can tell he's trying too hard or something.

seriously... he needs to change his ****ing name.

It's his real name though.

how many *******s in hollywood change thier names?

why not just name the bastard apple, or coco.

he'd be better off using my names

apple cook or
coco cook

well, enough people think he's funny. last summer, he had the #1 album on the Billboards MUSIC chart, and sold something like 300,000 the first 3 days...I'd say he has a funny reputation.

Plus, humor isn't universal. that's why most of you wiseguys are on here instead of making your own comedy album. It's just like how most comedies in the U.S. don't bank at the BO overseas. B/C humor is different EVERYWHERE...

I agree w/both sides. The CDs are funny the first time, and he was GREAT on SNL, but his stuff wears after a while (at least for me)...I'm sure that's why he's trying to move into movies while he can.

I like all forms of comedy except that 3 Stooges slapstick kind of humor. I think that's why I got bored of Farley(R.I.P.) so quickly. Hooray, you fall down a lot.

He apparently became extremely upset watching Beverly Hills Ninja, because he had let himself go so much with both food and drugs, and the whole movie was "I'm fat, hijinks ensue".

It and "Almost Heros" came out after he died.

He's a comedian who doesn't have the talent to be a rock and roll star, so just pretends he is and jokes about it (drum kit on stage and all).

You know, if Dayne Cook would have started on SNL we wouldn't even be having this conversation b/c the media would have propped him up to be the next Will Ferrell. Therefore, everyone would have accepted him b/c they were told to...

^You dissin' the Stooges?

Get outta here, man. That stuff never gets old. :D
