But plenty of women are capable of exaggerating abuse claims for that amount of money.

That's an insane amount of annual income.

How does one exaggerate abuse claims? Either someone was abused, or they weren't.

She told them they simply argued. Very easy to hide things and refuse to talk about it. Maybe when she decided to get the divorce, she decided not to hide it anymore.

On bruises as evidence. People do realize it usually takes one or two days for bruising to show up. You get the initial redness, and if there is a cut, it changes things. But bruising can take awhile.

So while it is possible she is faking them, it is even more possible she did not show signs of bruising the night of, even if she was hit.

You could get into an angry shouting match with someone where both parties are verbally abusive to claiming the other person wrecked the house and physically beat you up.

I do believe there is a historical precedent of a woman faking an abusive relationship due to the fact she needed financial support because she was transitioning into a cat. Now yes, both times the woman was the one claiming abuse, however I don't believe human to cat transitioning is a gender specific thing and in both cases it could've easily been the man (Hell, in future cases it could even occur to a same sex couple).
