I think the rumored casting list from that Ryan Unicomb guy back in May had Jason Clarke and Keri Russell as Thomas and Martha Wayne. But since he got almost everyone wrong, I'm not so sure lol.

That's a very superficial way of looking at it.

You should at least trust that Reeves knows the movie he's trying to make better than anyone commenting about it online at this point.

Wait and see has never been a bad approach to these things.

Serkis is maybe fine for Alfred. It really depends what kind of Alfred we get. Seems they might target going with Alfred similar to Gotham (TV) show. I just can't get behind Colin as Penguin. That's huge miscast.

He's in talks. That means WB and Reeves have chosen him and all they have to so now is sign paperwork, that can take days or weeks. When the deal is closed, Reeves will announce it via Twitter.

It doesnt matter to me. because I wont see him as Penguin. You can be greatest actor in world, yet be miss casted. And even if they try "redefine" Penguin as character it simply will be inferior to traditional one. Greatest thing about Batman's rogue gallery is they dont need to be redefined, remodernized or whatever.

Greatest trick in this case is believing this is somehow good casting because it's Reeve's interpretation of the character. And it's his vision. And yet just because it is, doesnt mean that's Penguin. Even if he is dressed as Penguin, talks as Penguin, has personality of Penguin, yet you dont believe it.

The main figures of Batman's rogues gallery have been exactly this. Especially in live-action. Arguably the reason they're so popular is they've been changed up so many times and somehow still become just as captivating as the last iteration.

Wait, so even if he's dressed as Penguin, talks as Penguin and has the personality of Penguin ... he's still not Penguin? Why, because he's not short? What's more important than how he's written and the way he's dressed (considering you don't seem to care about those things)? And also, nothing of what you wrote makes Farrell miscast. He might have been miscast in your version of the Penguin. But it's not your version, so it's too early to say that he's miscast. It's the exact same thing when someone says that Serkis is miscast. It doesn't make sense.
