Andy Serkis IS Alfred Pennyworth

It’s still weird to want to do a Dark Knight Returns thing with a guy who’s barely 40.

Keaton was right there!

I think this casting fits more:

No thanks

Delighted. Was hoping they'd mix things up and go with a slightly younger Alfred. I'd been assuming/hoping Serkis would be Alfred ever since Reeves was announced but I figured, like others have said, Venom 2 was likely to clash.

I mean Nolan did it with a guy that was 39.

And I thought I was weird! But at least that one had the leg brace thing and broken back and all that.

Batman v Superman also has everyone talking about Batman as this cryptic thing, he may or may not be real, ignoring the giant Bat insignia attached to the spotlight of the city’s police headquarters.

They gotta get Keaton back as Batman for some project, some Elseworlds one-off like Joker, at some point even if it isn't a continuation of the Burton continuity. Don't know if he'd do it or not but that could be something special.

Batman Beyond is the most obvious approach. I actually would like to see someone put a cyberpunk spin on Burton’s Gotham.

If they did Beyond without Keaton it would be hard not to get a little fanboyishly peeved about it. It'd be completely 110% understandable but so very, very disappointing.

May not happen?

lol, Venom made a billion dollars, and the cast, director, screenwriter, and cinematographer are all in place, they're not just gonna randomly say "eh.....nevermind".

Theatrical runwise $856,085,151 was made according to Box Office Mojo worldwide. Home release and streaming or broadcasting rights and other avenues could've brought it up though.

Still, Tom Hardy posting artwork I see as more of a tease if anything. Andy can't direct Venom 2 while being in The Batman. Shooting has been pushed back.

Delay, delay, delay equals developmental flux. Tom Rothman very well could be behind this.:cwink:

Fan art from Twitter. Tell me you don't see Alfred there.

Unless he still looks like a disgusting human being there. :o

So full beard or mustache? He looks great with a mustache in that fanart.

With Serkis, I can see them following the recent trend of portraying Alfred as a bit younger (not an elderly man), a little rougher around the edges, and possibly a capable brawler in his own right.

For that matter, young Michael Caine in the sixties was a total player with lots of girlfriends.

That fanart has probably spoiled me for whatever Serkis is actually gonna look like in the movie.
