Andy Serkis IS Alfred Pennyworth

Given filming's started for Venom 2, with The Batman maybe starting extremely soon, this begs the question of how much Alfred will actually be in the movie. no?

All you need is Alfred on the grounds of Wayne Manor. Shoot the batcave & mansion scenes in what? A few days? A week? How long do we think Caine was on set for?

Caine was there the whole shoot, actually. Nolan keeps him around as a sort of mascot on his sets.

Possibly, although there are a few factors worth keeping in mind. For starters, as others have already pointed out, it could be that the bulk of Alfred's scenes in the film take place at Wayne Manor or the Batcave and Serkis could shoot all of his scenes in a few days to a week.

Heck, if the majority of Alfred's dialogue and footage in the film winds up being similar to the Arkham games with Bruce talking back and forth with him via a communicator of some sort, Serkis could actually hypothetically wait until The Batman is in the post-production stage and go into a studio with Reeves and knock out all of that material without audiences being the wiser.

The other factor worth considering is that apparently one of the primary filming locations for Venom 2 will be Leavesden Studios in London, England... which is also where Reeves will be filming The Batman. So with the two productions sharing a studio location, that might make it easier for Reeves to include Serkis' Alfred in other scenes located outside of Wayne Manor and the Batcave.

Alfred's the kind of character who could easily A) not have a massive amount of screentime, and B) have most or all of his scenes in Wayne Manor/Batcave. So Serkis probably doesn't actually need to be on set that long, most likely.

Jumping way ahead, Maybe Serkis will direct The Batman sequel while Reeves only Produces and is a Co-Writer.

I’m looking forward to seeing both the softer side and also physical badassery of Serkis as Alfref IF they go in that direction. It will be si unique and cool to see Pattinson opposite Serkis.

Do y’all think Serkis will be less involved with the action and be more of a proper butler or will he be similar to Irons?

I personally hope to see that softer side of Alfred primarily because

1. BTAS is my preferred Alfred

2. Because I feel like people are expecting a rough Alfred but Serkis can surprise a lot of people with a more calming take on him.

All that being said, if they can create an absolute perfect blend like Gotham did. Imo, then we've got something special on our hands.

Today I realized the potential that I had on my shelves.
Batman+Klaue=Alfred getting wild in the Batcave while Bruce is away.

I think it was reported Matt Reeves would direct the trilogy.
And I would love for that to be the case, but we’ll only really know that this is true once he’s actually done it.

That being said, I HIGHLY doubt they’re planting seeds for Serkis to take over. For one thing, because he’s already on board to direct an entirely different franchise.

I want to see the Safdie Brothers reunite with Pattinson for a ‘on the move’ Arkham Asylum movie. Following Batman around during the course of one night. 90 minutes. 2 hours max. After seeing Good Time and Uncut Gems, I wouldn’t mind Reeves giving the third film over to them.

And if they need a new Joker to appear in that movie, well...they did work with Caleb Landry Jones in Heaven Knows What.

The Safdie’s are so good at creating anxiety for the audience and their main character. And their lead is always extremely complex, working outside of the law.

I profoundly dislike the idea of Caleb as the Joker and the Safdies would be far vetter suited for a villain driven movie.

I'd rather this trilogy stay with Reeves till the very end. I don't wanna see anyone else come in.

They need to leverage their upcoming platform in HBO MAX and start churning out exclusive content. I would 100% be behind multiple miniseries’ featuring the cinematic universe casts. That’s where they can really blow the hinges open and explore more daring content under a non-blockbuster setting.

Wouldn’t be as costly as a typical blockbuster, therefore less expectations of performing like one. In turn, you can entice the lesser-known creators in diving into this world momentarily, like the Safdie bros.

Basically a countermeasure against the Disney+ MCU phase, but under more prestige settings.
