Andy Serkis IS Alfred Pennyworth

Yeah, Irons used his regular speaking voice there, which is arguably quintessential imo.

I am partial to an Alfred who was originally hired by Thomas Wayne because he wanted a butler who could also double as a bodyguard. ( And then the Waynes get killed because even an ex-SAS butler can't protect you if you don't keep him around, ahem )

Anyway, Alfred should be young Bruce's first tutor, though not his last or only.

Alfred's look is like the best kept secret of this film :funny: Everyone has been shown now.

Did we ever establish whether that one guy was Barry Keoghan?

Also we haven’t actually seen Dano apart from buried under his whole outfit.

No the Barry Keoghan thing was just speculation, but some people at the set did say that it was him.

Most or all of his scenes are probably interiors at Wayne Manor or wherever Bruce lives, so tbh I doubt we’ll see him in set pics.
Speaking of Wayne Manor, I’ll be very curious to see that as well.

That this would be a drastically different Alfred than anything we've seen before. If he was going for a traditional butler I doubt he'd say that seeing how that's the version of Alfred that's the best known and that has been depicted the most.

Bold words, but we'll see. I mean...if you really look at all lot of the live-action versions of Alfred, they are all quite different in their own ways.

Even the Jeremy Irons version was quite different. He was more like a grungy, clever mechanic than a traditional, conventional butler. Sort of had his own look and voice for Alfred.

In Beware the Batman, the producers made Alfred into a younger Jason Statham type. Like a bald, ex-superspy, secret agent.

I would rather not have "rough and tumble" Alfred if we could but it's popular with people now.

I would like to leave the knuckle dragging to the versions that have already done that.

Maybe he can still be the bodyguard type and comes off sophisticated?

I always saw Alfred as a Higgins from Magnum P.I type. Someone with a dry wit.

After seeing so many versions of Alfred, I’m a tad bit open to his looks. However, the ultimate look for Alfred for me would be Vincent Price.ADC62FC9-8886-44F5-A2A6-A8FE714D0EEE.jpeg

There’s no real reason for me to be posting random nonsense that will never amount to anything here, and I love Ted Danson, so this isn’t a slam on him, but whaaaaaaa...??

I could see him being a good Gordon, but I honestly can’t even wrap my head around the idea that he’d be good Alfred. Even if Alfred wasn’t English, I can’t see it.

People like this see characters in the most basic and superficial of ways imaginable. What's worse, that's not even the Alfred from the comics on the right. So, it's a fail even by purist standards.
