I read somewhere that one of the titles considered for this book was Cosmic Avengers. I think I might almost prefer that over GotG. One the one hand, the last thing we need is another book using "Avengers" in the title, but on the other the book would definitely sell better and get a lot more exposure if it did include "Avengers" in the name. Plus, they're not the GotG.

It is pretty awkward to name them the Guardians of the Galaxy, especially if they actually call themselves that in the series. Taking an existing team's name and creating successors who borrow that name but are different a la the New Warriors is one thing. Taking an existing team's name and grafting it onto different people with a different purpose and no knowledge of the first team because the first team doesn't exist yet--in effect, making a team retroactively the originators of the team name--just feels weird to me. And it's really confusing to try and type out.
