Annihilation Conquest

Incidentally, why are we calling it the Enigma Force? Isn't it the Uni-Force?

Fixed. All these "powers" and "forces" being thrown around have confused my deeply complex thought processes.

I thought they were interchangeable, but apparently the Enigma Force is the source of the Uni-Power.

The Uni-Power itself emanates from the Enigma Force, the exact nature of which, naturally, remains an enigma.

I usually call it the "Uni-Power" because it is easy to remember that it is linked to Captain Universe.

Wouldn't it be kind of cool if it went into Star-Lord for a bit? Not forever, just for a bit. It could make a nice "holy ****" moment. I doubt it, but you never know.

That power blips around all over the place, from Spider-Man to Daredevil to even X-23.

Worthless filler

True, but when they ran a series of Captain Universe one-shots that had the Uni-Power bounce across various heroes, from Daredevil to Silver Surfer to Invisible Woman and so on, X-23's sold the best. I didn't touch it with a ten foot pole, though.

But, during that "series" was when Gabe was first introduced, so it was cool that Giffen remembered him for STARLORD.

Those one shots were supposed to lead to a Captain Universe mini with Gabe. Guess that's out...

Yeah, unless the Uni-Power decided to resurrect him.

Hey, stranger things have happened. Epoch revived Gravity for instance. :p

You know, at the time I was annoyed with all the Wolverine crap and X-23 annoyed me. But I read the whole mini and I have to say that the X-23 issue was actually one of my favorates. It made me like her a little more, as well as the scorpian girl that was being pushed at the time. It was pretty good.

And I do have a feeling the Uni-Power will show up in Conquest again in one of the main characters. Starlord would make the most sense, but I'm afraid it'll be Warlock.

The only part of his run I actually read. It was pretty good. I only read the first 3 issues though because it felt mosty complete, though only halfway through the arc. I mostly read it for Gravity, Silver Surfer, and Stardust. Once they left, I left. Was the rest of that arc worth buying? I wasn't really interested in what Reed and Sue were doing.

Her name is Scorpion and she was one of the Renegades during WWH. She still is presumably involved with SHIELD so she likely will pop up again. One of the creations of the now-defunct AMAZING FANTASY relaunch.

The Uni-Power going into Warlock seems a bit much as he already is plenty powerful and ever-evolving. But who knows. I'd prefer someone who isn't on his level. Phyla may be possible. I mean DnA have plans for her and if her Quantum Bands are still empty...

If you were in the mood for by-the-books FF antics, then yes. If not, no. In some ways I feel sorry for McDuffie. Aside for mixing the team roster briefly for the first few issues he really tried to just do the FF as they should be, which was generic at times but after CW where Reed essentially become Arnim Zola, was probably needed. But, with sales down and Millar & Hitch aboard to boost things, his run will be forgotten. I've dubbed it the "Gerald Ford run". To me, people who disliked McDuffie's run because it wasn't "shocking" enough are the reason why the Millar's and Bendis' of the world feel they can kill & rape (character-wise) their way to infamy.

That said, the Millar/Hitch rebut was pretty good.

They wont be. They're only empty in Annihilation Conquest because of the barrier around Kree Space cutting her off from the bands' power supply.
That said it's fair to assume that at the end of AC the barrier will be brought down and the bands'll be thusly repowered.

Yeah, presuming that barrier gets down or they escape it. There were still lasting effects of the Annihilation Wave after Annihilus was toasted, who knows what will be left over after Ultron is dusted...

It'd seem kinda dumb to me if they just decide to leave the barrier up. I mean why limit the field from which you draw your story material after this story is done?

I'm not saying it's a sure thing, just that it's probably fair to assume.

Yeah, more than likely.

Look who decided to show up...

It's Warlock vs. Warlock!

And the best thing: it's a double-sized issue!

I can't ****ing wait! Conquest has been pretty ho-hum so far, but those pages alone have gotten me pretty psyched for the finale.

Where's Wraith been at? Dude was being hyped all up in the beginning, now he just disappeared. Any idea of the person he's hunting? I think it's Ronan.
