Annoying People in the Movie Theater

You can't even go see an R rated flick late at night over here in the hood. They'll take those brats whenever and wherever.

That's reason number one i don't go to the movies in the hood….reason number two…

..loud mouth hoodrats!:cmad:

I can't believe people have the gall to write articles defending their "right" to talk in the theater. How arrogant can you get. It's not your living room and other people don't pay to listen to your stupid conversations.

It's insane how entitled people can get.
It reminds me of a poster who defended his right to talk in the Amtrak quiet car a few years ago.

at the showing of, X-Men Days of the Future Past, I went to, a group of guys came in about 10 mins into the movie, seat right in front of me and my friends

oh, an after the ending credit scene, some punk kid in the corner yelled out "what the hell was that?"

someone brought a fussy infant into X-Men Days of the Future Past; 7 pm show. they must have drugged the child because he/she stopped screaming in terror half-way through.
I remember back at the mid night showing of Batman Begins, I went to... some one brought there baby and like half way through it start screaming, the audience booed him out of the theatre

who brings a baby to a mid night movie? if you have a baby get your priorities straight, if you can't arrange someone to watch your kid, go to a different showing

Spider-Man 3 in 2007 was probably the all-time worst for me. Yes I know it was a terrible movie, but I paid to see it. These teens were shouting curse words and making fake farting sounds. I finally snapped and shouted "shut up." They then jumped their seats and started yelling in my direction "say 'shut up' again" over and over. Finally an usher came in and asked them to be quiet or leave. They were quiet... for about 10 minutes. Then back at it.

I also got threatened for telling a dude to be quiet during a showing of The Departed in the hood.

The only movie I've been at where the audience was actively heckling was Dragonball Evolution, and it wasn't any skin off my back 'cause I facepalmed my way through half that film. Sometimes there's a kid who's a chatterbox, but it's almost always a product of hype, so it's no big deal. The biggest theater nuisances are "that couple with the bright idea to bring their newborn with them" and "that person who'd rather distract everyone behind them with their bright smartphone screen than watch the movie they paid for."

The issue is that a lot of parents are young as **** and don't care about bringing their baby anywhere.

The smart phone screen is one of those things I can tune out, as long as it doesn't make any noise. Noise always bothered me a lot more than light. But I can understand why other people are annoyed by it.

I stopped going to films on opening weekend because of this.

Same here. I often go to movies during the week after it opens. Thursdays I can get a discount with my student ID, and the theater is less crowded, so I get a better experience for a cheaper cost.

I went to see X-Men Days of Future Past at the 10pm showing on May 22, first time I'd seen a movie opening night(ish) in years.

My bff and I always try to see films when the theater might be empty, because I admit it, we love to talk during movies. We're very good theater-goers when there's a crowd, but when we're alone in the theater, all bets are off.

There have been two times I wasn't well-behaved: the second Star Wars prequel, and the second Twilight film. In Star Wars, I couldn't contain my mocking of the film. I left the theater early to avoid angry fans. The Twilight film, I fell asleep, and when I woke up, I said, rather loudly, "This seriously isn't over yet?"

Whoops. :p

I had a mewling infant in the front row of Deathly Hallows. I complained to the manager. When he didn't get there fast enough I yelled "TAKE THE BABY OUT!" Then he arrived.

If it can't walk, leave it at home.

Ironically, I find opening days for blockbusters usually have a good crowd because the people there really want to see the movie and they ****.

I accidentally kicked a guy's seat while watching X-Men last weekend. I felt bad.

Didn't get the chance to apologize.

Can't say I've ever had a problem with phones going off or texting. It's mainly annoying kids who are never told to be quiet and the occasional person who is digging in their bag of chips or crunching loudly on their popcorn.

During Godzilla, an old man was constantly explaining every new plot point to his grand-daughter. Poorly. When the MUTO first hatched, he leaned over and said "and that's Godzilla, the big monster". Didn't know how to whisper either. If your grand-daughter can't follow along with the giant lizard movie, then the intricacies of the story are just going to have to be lost on her. You shush.

there was a bunch of teenage girls behind me and my friend who were giggling and clapping during the makeout scene on top of the bridge in asm2. then they all started crying when she croaked.

Awww, but that's kinda sweet. :hrt:

Annoying, but you can't get too mad at a grand-dad and daughter.

I do remember a kid roughly 5-7 years old running around the front section of the theater 3 or 4 times during the R-rated movie Ted.

Off topic, but ohmygherd, your icon is so cool!!!! :hrt::hrt::hrt:

X-Men: DOFP was pretty much ruined for me this weekend. :csad: I absolutely LOVED the film and think it's the best of the series, but I had a hard time enjoying it because...

- Baby crying

If you can't afford a babysitter perhaps you shouldn't be spending money to go see a movie at the theatre, in any case a baby cannot be expected to tolerate darkness, many people and extremely loud sounds. Nor should people paying exorbitant ticket prices be subjected to mewling children.

- Dude kicking my seat behind me

Grow a pair, if you can't back up aggression at least politely confront the assailant and request that the behaviour stop.

- Girls giggling at Richard Nixon's nose/make-up

Harder to manage. Can't really start policing peoples reactions. I feel the same way anytime I bother going to see a genuinely scary movie, there are always clutters of people insecure about their fear and feel the need to snort and giggle whenever they feel the uncomfortable emotion. As much as I'd like to tell them to **** off and leave, they paid, and it is their way of enjoying the film.

- Cell phone ringing, following by someone answering it and LITERALLY TALKING ON THE PHONE TO A PERSON IN NORMAL VOLUME.

Unacceptable. Fill your empty soda container with urine and douse them with it.

But yeah, the movie was phenomenal. Love every minute of it that I was able to.

Agreed, I surprisingly had a great crowd although no one seemed to have a clue as to what the post credit scene was about :woot:

Went to see DOFP and this ahole was constantly talking om his cellphone...the usher made him leave

I know it's been said, but babies. I ****in hate when babies are in the movie theater.

Goddamn babies always ruin everything.

Yeah. I don't get parents who bring babies to a PG-13 or R-rated movie. Hire a sitter, or accept the fact that once you're a parent your obligations shift.

On the other hand, I get annoyed when people complain about young kids talking and acting like young kids do in theaters showing movies such as 'Frozen' or 'Up.' It's great these films appeal to adults as well as kids, but don't forget who the primary target audience is.
