Still absolutely ages away for us.![]()
I don't think anyone can assume one way or another about a sequel. We don't know Feige's plans, and he might not even know about Ant-Man 3 himself yet. There are now 8 solo MCU franchises, with only 3 making it to trilogies so far. This is the MCU's smallest franchise, and if they get the Fox properties as expected, they may well have bigger fish to fry for years to come.
AM&TW box office may have suffered a bit from timing, or just the fact that light comedy sequels usually don't grow the audience much, as the more epic MCU films generally do. But this film is a relatively small cog in a big machine. This seems to set up an important piece of Avengers 4 (time travel, quantum realm), so this film, at this point in the timeline, was more important to them than trying to maximize every dollar from this movie itself.
Hopefully you'll have plenty of time to recover from your World Cup party hangover![]()
Shes also notable for starting a petition to get Deadpool toned down to PG-13.So she is basically a YT persona with some comic writing credits. Got it![]()

They have built the trilogy model for basically everything else, why would Ant-Man be any different?
Only 3 out of 8 solo MCU properties have made it to a completed trilogy so far, so while it's easy to assume that they hope all MCU franchises warrant a trilogy, I don't think it can be called automatic. Hulk didn't get a trilogy, which was largely because of the Universal situation, but I'm sure if TIH made a billion dollars, they would have found a way.
That said, if they do make a sequel, I wouldn't be surprised if they change things up in a big way, similarly to how they course corrected the Thor franchise to boost the box office. AM&TW was fine, fun, and forgettable. I don't see a similar Ant-Man light comedy style film to end the trilogy, possibly only making a relatively small profit, being a priority - especially if they get the Fox properties to work with.
Personally I'd love to see them try a more serious sci-fi film, with extensive time in the quantum realm or something like that. Hey, if they can turn Thor into a jokester, then maybe they can make Ant-Man more serious? Focus on the Quantum-Realm, or something like a "Journey to the Center of the Android" story from Avengers #93 would be awesome IMO. Or hey, perhaps he'll get to help bring back Vision as soon as A4??
Unfair stat because they didn't add a non-big 3 franchise (discounting Hulk) until 2014. You're not getting a full trilogy in 4 years, but with Guardians getting a 3rd film, I think the trend and intention is pretty clear.
There was backlash with Thor becoming a jokester too. There will always be backlash from some faction. I'm not predicting that they will go serious with Ant-Man, but I think they need a bigger change to warrant a sequel, otherwise I would fear that it could really underperform - especially if this movie finishes up way below Thor DW levels (which is about $227M adjusted for 2018 dollars). Perhaps they'll even make it not more serious, but a straight out comedy, who knows? Kevin Feige is way smarter than me and I trust he'll make a good decision.I would hate for Ant-Man to get too serious. Ant-Man has been branded to be the lightest in tone franchise. Changing that suddenly will have backlash. Heck, even in CW, while the film is super serious, Ant-Man himself was fun and light hearted! That's his strength.
I agree, the trend and intention is clear. That doesn't mean their intentions will always come to fruition, and with only 3 out of 8 so far, that's a lot of assuming to predict they will. Ant-Man is a small cog, and if they find an important role for him in the big scheme of things, they will use him. But I'm sure they won't be obsessive-compulsive about making every single franchise a trilogy, if they can make more money going in another direction.

The difference is Thor: TDW cost more to make. This movie was about on par with like Thor or TIH (aka, in the ballpark of the phase 1 films) as far as cost, and all those made WAY less than this is going to make. I honestly don't think Ant-Man needs "fixed." Just need to find the right story and cash in on the Avengers 4 bump it should get.
I had seen her name pop up in a few places, I just never cared to research her, LOL!
A couple of years ago she started a **** storm on here when she accused another big name youtube guy of being a Marvel stooge being paid off by them because he had said something bad about some part of BvS.....it apparently had missed her perception that he had loved BvS, was constantly talking about how much he loved BvS....but had just complained about one part of it. I had had to watch several videos by each so that I could figure out what everyone was spazzing out about. Basically....I figured she was a complete idiot that didn't deserve to be watched.
Oh....my daughter and I just got back from watching ANT-MAN AND THE WASP again.....still a hilariously fun afternoon.
It actually fell below 76 million with the actuals. Damn and Disney is very conservative when it comes to estimates so the movie seriously underperformed. I expect terrible legs for it and a very similar take with the first film. What a debacle....
