Anubis' "How would you do it?" Thread.

Freakin' Sweet.

Of course it is. Also, if this ever actually happened, after my Batman and Superman runs wrap up, I'd finally start the Ultimate JLA, and explain that the League was formed by a joint venture of Ollie Queen and a now more worldly and mature Bruce Wayne. I've also thought of the perfect way of portraying Bruce with the League: By helping form the League, he'd begin to behave sort of like the bastard child of Jenny Sparks and Elijah Snow.

Also, another big arc of the series is, naturally, the rise and fall of The Joker. One thing I forgot to mention about Pilate's profecy is that The Joker is, in a way, the living avatar for madness itself (I was inspired by the issue of Moon Knight where Konshu alludes to the idea that The Punisher is the living embodyment of death on Earth). So The Joker goes through his whole origin story. His wife dies, he's thrown into a vat of chemicals and is disfigured, and he goes crazy. The main change to The Joker's look is that he uses a variaty of comedy and tradgedy masks and fancy costumes, instead of his more classic, constant look. This is to show the influence that classical theater, especially commedia dell'arte, has on his madness. It also plays up on Grant Morrison's idea that in his mind, he is simply an actor on a stage, and he reinvents himself constantly on a whim just as an actor changes roles. With each new costimes comes a new role for him to play.

Anyway, at first, he's simply a scarred, pale skinned crazy guy wandering the streets of gotham in a state of greif and shock, bordering on madness. Eventually, in a state of blind rage over his situation, he lashes out and beats a homeless man to death. He then finds that he feels a little better. Soon, he begins to take on a somewhat comically nihilistic philosophy, taking the motto of "do as you please." He Ends up stealing soem food and clothes, and kills a few other people, one out of nececity, one out of anger, and one out of curiosity to see if he'd enjoy it. He becomes a creature completely driven by the Id. Eventually, he makes his way to an old abandoned theater, where he finds a large number of props, make up, and costumes. He dons a fancy purple costume with a white comedy mask, dyes his hair green, and begins to lose himself in this new identity of The Joker. At first, he becomes not a villain, but a rather harmless, annoying prankster, much like the character was in the 1950s Batman comics. He pulls some very public pranks, commits several thefts simply because there are things that he wants and doesn't want to pay for, and garners a rather large cult following. He becomes a sort of Joshua Norton like figure in Gotham.

However, soon, things take a sharp turn. He decides to take on a new character. That of the master villain. He comits several highly public murders, and makes it known that he is responsible through his trademark of a giant, sickly grin. By this time, his nature of being completely Id driven has gone to it's greatest extreme, with him completely lost in his illusions of a grand actor and shifting his personality purely on a whim. Many of his followers are horrified, but a few others are excited and offer to help him in a y way possible. In his new role as the villain, he becomes obsessed with The Batman, and calls him out as to have an epic struggle. The two fight, and The Joker manages to escape when it looks like he's done for.

Unlike in the regular comics, The Joker wouldn't be sent to Arkham and escape every other month. He appears through the series semi regularly, taking on the roles of serial killer, mob boss, urban terrorist, brutal vigilante, and even hero at one point throughout. Eventually, Batman is able to stop him and turn him over to the authorities, and he is sent to Arkham.

He stays there for a little while. Eventually, he gets a new therapist: Dr. Harleen Quinzel. It's there that he takes on his finest role: The jailed psychopath manipulating and psychoanalyzing the person trying to psychoanalyze him. He picks up fairly quickly that Quinzel is something foa repressed psychopath, and manipulates her into having a mental breakdown of her own. She falls in love with him and helps him plan his escape, not only freeing himself but every inmate in Arkham, creating mass chaos. During this story arc, the crazies of Arkham ravage the city, and The Joker starts his gang back up again. However, even though it's uninentional, Harley still serves as a form of Therapy for The Joker. You see, up until this point he'd been living in his fantasy world, with no genuine emotional atatchments. But he starts to truely fall in love with Harley, and as he does so slowly regains a portion of his sanity. This leads to a confrontation in his own mind with the various "roles" he has played, each one meant to represent the living madness that he's meant to represent. However, he ends up rejecting them and taking on a genuine persona, albiet one that is still impulsive, driven solely by desire, and prone to violence.

As the storyline continues, though, he finds that the more sane he becomes, the harder it is to cope with the world. Eventually, in his big climactic battle with Batman, he realizes that he can't really live in the world and certainly isn't going back to the Asylum, so he grabs a detonator and threatens to blow up the building and take everyone with him. There's a breif moment in which he and Batman play "chicken," where Batman realizes that he isn't bluffing and reluctantly starts running. The Joker tells Harley to go, but she opts to stay. The two share a passionate kiss, and The Joker presses the button, finally getting what every ham actor wants: A sp[ectacular death scene.

Damn, I've really got to organize all of this into one coherent entity.

I dig it.

You know, the more I plan Ultimate Batman, the more it sounds like something that mainstream superhero comics don't usually get: An epic, multi volumed series with a preplanned plotline that is planned to conclude itself, much like Sandman or Preacher. I'll try and do a full write up of the outline later.

"Four walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage"

"Are you guys sure you want to do this?" Justice asked.

"Positive," Cap replied, nodding as he rolled out the blue prints Peter had managed to draw up. "With Luke, Prodigy, and Rage, along with me,Peter, and his daughter, that's enough of a team to take out the baseline guards they've got there."

"They don't even have meta-humans stationed there," Peter said. "I think it's because Tony didn't trust us to flip and free our friends... which isn't that far-fetched thinking on it now."

"Three invulnerables, three scrappers and our teleporter," Cap summed up. "It's more than enough. We use the three invulnerables as a wall, Peter and I infiltrate slowly through the facility. Mayday hangs back to protect Dusk from harm as she is our only hope of getting out of there."

Twenty minutes later, as they prepared to leave, Rage looked at Mayday. "You alright Mayday?" he asked.

"Yeah, yeah," she replied absently. "Just... something's bugging me about all of this."

"Ready to go, hon?" Peter asked Mayday as they all gathered around the strange girl in black.

"Yup," Mayday nodded. She wasn't in her normal outfit though. Rage, Luke, Peter, Mayday, and Cap were all wearing their secondary costumes. Cap was dressed as "The Spirit of '76". Peter was wearing Ben Reilly's "Scarlet Spider" costume, and wearing it with pride. Luke and Rage were dressed as "The Black Captain America" and "Josiah X" respectively. Mayday was wearing a costume similar to X-23's as well as a set of claws that she used her wall-clinging powers to hold in place.

Once they were in Luke, Rage, and Prodigy went one way together, Peter slipped off through air ducts, while Cap dashed off down another hall. Mayday held back Dusk as they clung to the shadows. The women never knew anything was wrong until they heard the alarms.

The invulnerables thought they had everything covered as they were drawing attention from the rest of guards. Captain America rejoined them. "A few hundred feet more until... no,"

"I'm sorry Steven," Mar Vell said. "But this is for the good of more than you can imagine.

"But... but..." Luke stammered.

"Ain't he supposed to be dead?" blurted Prodigy.

Mar Vell belted Luke across the face, then let loose a blast into Prodigy.

He gave a charge into Cap's gut, and then flung Rage to the end of the hall.

"Four Walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage" part II

Mayday's first indication that something had gone wrong was when she looked out the window they were waitingbeside and saw the Scarlett Spider go soaring past, followed quickly by Captain Marvel. "Oh God," Mayday gasped.

"Get us out there!" she told Dusk. Dusk followed through instantly taking them out to the fight which was now in the weightless void of the Negative Zone. Of course, this gave Captain Marvel a distinct advantage as only he was able to fly.

"RUN!" Mayday heard. she turned her head to see her father yelling at her as he shot a webline onto Captain Marvel's uniform. "Get of here NOW!" He yelled.

"But..." but Mayday never got to finish her sentance as Dusk grabbed her and teleported them both away.

"Where are we?" asked Dusk. "I meant to transport us back to the safehouse..." they both looked around.

When they looked up they could just make out the Prison block out in orbit around the planet. "Seriously, where are we?" Mayday agreed.

"You are on the planet Balurr," came a grizled voice. the girls whipped around to find a man with a belt of amunition and a dangerous looking firearm.

"I would ask who you side with, but it is obvious," the man continued, then did the last thing either girl expected. "It is good to see a Dusk again," he said as knelt before Cassie St. Commons. "With someone bearing the Mantle the Humans will be easy to chase off."

"Whoa... how did you know who I am?" asked Cassie.

"You wear the costume of Dusk, Champion of all peaceful Balurrians," he said, gesturing to her costume. "Liberator of Blastaar's imprisoned, and soon to be destroyer of the acursed 42!"

"This could be interesting," Mayday gulped.

House later it was explained that the Balurrians, ordinarily a peaceful people, were being periodically invaded by the staff of 42 for "Shore Leave" and while they were visited periodically by a Kree who tried to discourage the violation of Balurrian laws, it was futile. regularly the guards would come, land, take the women they wanted, the food they wanted, and the posessions they wanted. The Balurrians had had enough.

Their only problem were, as a people, they would not fight lest they had someone to follow, and the ways of the fighters and rebels among them called for someone to take the mantle of Dusk. Dusk objected until...

"Holy Normal!" called a shriveled old female Balurrian. "I foresaw your arrival... you seek to discover what you are... why you died, and rose, you seek to know what you are... You are Balurr's SOUL! You are the evening sun, the ends of the day of evil. You are the beginning of Night's peaceful reign! You are Dusk!"

"But... I'm just a kid," Cassie argued, backing away from the old woman.

"You are a HERO!" argued back the woman.

"She's right," Mayday agreed. "Ritchie told me about how you came to the rescue for Eddie in those tunnels, and how you faced off against Mephisto... You are a hero..."

"Will you lead us, Dusk?" asked the Balurrian who found them on the streets, as he offered a firearm to Dusk. "Lead us against them."

Dusk looked at the weapon in her hand, then at the others gathered around her. "I will... but not until I find us re-enforcements." a mischievious twinkle in her eye.

The next evening at, when else, dusk, Marvell was patrolling the bridge. "Any more disturbances?" he asked, worried by how easily they had broken in, and the fact that two of them had escaped.

"No sir, Captain Vell," Reported one.

"Wait... I'm getting something..." Said another... IT'S AN ATTACK!"

The bridge exploded as two voices, those of Prodigy and Dusk called out loudly, "FOR EDDIE!" The Secret Avengers poured into the facility, and thanks to Zero-G and Justice, so did the Balurrian Resistance.

Hercules launched himself straight at Captain Marvel

Dusk became nothing but a blur and blink of dark light as she leapt from enemy to enemy using courage few thought she possessed.

Spider-Girl spent her time freeing the locked up Super-heroes, though she very carefully and deliberately neglected to free some of the villains. Luke Cage joined Hercules and they quickly subdued Captain Marvel, who was already reticent to attack his friends.

With the new Regime in place they opened the inter-dimensional door and shoved the guards through. Without hesitation the Heroes followed. The battle was long, the battle was hard. The Battle of 42 was won. Once everyone but herself had gone through the gate, Dusk destroyed it and all the others. Those on the other side of the gate, however, were not prepared for what awaited them. Though they had the assistance of The Atlanteans, The Avengers called in the Champions of California, and their Thor Clone... The Secret Avengers lost, and at a great price as three city blocks were destroyed in the battle.

Among those to register at the end were the Parkers, who, despite their disgust with the system, simply couldn't bear to continue fighting. To their shock, Tony Stark made Peter the leader of the "Mighty Avengers," citing that it was about time someone with Peter's experience lead a team. Peter chose to lean heavily on the leadership experiences of Janet and Carol.

Mayday was sent to Camp Hammond... but that is a story for another day.

... I started runnin' out of ideas, plus it's hard to write a big battle like that. its supposed to be a partially visual medium. I will tell you that Tony appointed Peter to the Leader position on the MA without asking first.

How Would Zoken Do "Who Wants to Be An Avenger?"

"Greetings folks, and welcome to 'Who Wants To Be An Avenger', I'm Alicia Masters," The Blind Artist greeted television audiences around the world. She grinned, despite thinking this whole thing was ridiculous.

"And I'm MJ Watson-Parker," Greeted the red-headed model beside her. "We will be your hosts through the world's first ever Super-Hero contest. There are 156 registered super-heroes competing for the right to call themselves 'Avengers'."

"Joining us today with the rules is the Director of SHIELD, and organizer of the competition, Tony Stark. Director Stark?"

"Thanks for the intro ladies," Tony said, wearing a SHIELD jumpsuit. "And please, call me Tony. The rules for this first round are as follows, the 512 Heroes have been divided into 32 teams of 8. They will compete in simulations, actual missions, and spars against each other for two months. in that two months the performances will be reviewed by their peers. at least five teams will be participating in any one event, and they shall all vote on the team to be eliminated. when their are only 8 teams remain, they will stop voting against other teams, and the teams will have to turn inward and vote on each other. At this point they will be asked 4 times to eliminate a team member by popular vote. when the last team member is eliminated, the fun really begins as the 32 remaining heroes will compete in the worlds first ever super-heroe sparring tournament. More on the rules of the tournament when we approach that time."

"Thank you for that, Director Stark," Alicia grinned. "MJ, I understand that the teams were assigned randomly."

"That's correct, Alicia," MJ responded, now ignoring Tony stark. "In fact, our man on the ground is there to interview a team now."

"Well then," Alicia said. "I guess we'll turn things over to our eyes and ears on the ground... Willie Lumpkin."

"Well, thank y' ladies, It's an honor to be here today," The Old mailman greeted the world. "I'm standing here with team number... ah, team number 12. Consisting of, a personal friend, The Thing, as well as, Nightcrawler, Ms. Marvel, Ricochet, Mr. Immortal, Falcon, Humbug, and Bruiser." The youngest member of the team, a twelve-year old girl, waved enthusiastically into the camera.

"Little ladie," Willy greeted the girl. "What do you think about bein' a part a' this team?"

"This'll be fun! I get to kick some butt!" Molly enthused.

"And what do you think, Ben?" Willy asked the Thing.

"Ah, you know me Willy, I'm doin' this fer charity," Ben explained. "Alotta us big name heroes, like me, Pym, Van Dyne, we're bein' donatin' fer every round we advance through."

"I always knew that heart 'a yours was your real power Ben," Willy said, patting the Thing on the chest.

"Well," Alicia said. "Willy, you've check on my boyfriend, I think it's time we turn it over to someone else who will check on MJ's man... or should I say Spider-Man."

"And on the ground interviewing my husband is his old highschool friend, and a war veteran, Eugene "Flash" Thompson." MJ introduced enthusiastically.

"Thanks Ladies," Flash said as he stood in front a group of heroes. "Have to correct you though MJ. Pete wasn't my friend until College, until then he was my punching bag."

"Now who's punching who?" Pete asked, as he gave Flash a good natured punch on the shoulder.

"YOu got that right Pete," Flash said with a smile. "So, why not introduce us to your team?"

"Okay, well, we are team 27," Peter began. "It's my honor to be teamed with Cyclops of the X-Men, a teleporter named Dusk, She-Hulk, Big-Bertha from Wisconson, Victor Mancha out of L.A., and Stature of the Young Avengers, and Cloud 9 who is new to the game."

The group waved with smiles, except for Cyclops, who thought this whole excersize was a bit ridiculous.

Flash walked over to Stature, "Are you aiming for the Big team?" he asked. "A lot of heroes are just here for recognition. Are you aiming to go all the way?"

"You know it Mr. Thompson," Stature nodded. "My father was an Avenger, and I intend to follow in his footsteps."

"How about you, Mr. Summers?" asked Flash. "Are you trying to get some mutant representation on the Avengers?"

"Not really, I'm doing this for charity, Frost Industries, and Worthington Industries are backing a number of X-Men in the tournament," Cyclopse said dismissively.

"And you Dusk?" Flash asked the woman dressed in all black. "How badly do you want to be an Avenger?"

"Well, I'd be honored to take the title," Cassie St.Commons nodded, "but I don't really think I'm Avengers material. It'll be some good exposure, and hopefully it will get me put on a State-Team where I can do some really good."

"Back to you Ladies," Flash said with a grin into the camera.

"Well, we've certainly got a diverse bunch on the ground there," MJ commented. "You know, If I'm not mistaken, I think I can pick out three from here that my husband fought... Oo, Four."

"Well, It will be an interesting year here," Alicia said as her cohost surveyed the crowd for former villains. "And we want to thank you for joining us here on, 'Who Wants To Be An Avenger'."

"Oh, Five!" MJ blurted.

It was fun, and seemed like a fun idea... hey, anything where you can work in "Eye of the Tiger" rules.

"OKAY!" Bellowed Odin, the gym instructor. "Today's game... FOOTBALL!"

"Like they play in england?" asked Apollo hopefully.

"WHAT?" Bellowed Odin again. "Niffleheim NO! We're playing real football, tackle football."

"Ah tartarus," cursed Athena under her breath.

"It won't be so bad," said Tyr brightly.

"Speak for yourself you musclebound buffon," snarled Loki.

"The TEAMS," Odin, you guessed it, bellowed, "Are as follows. Team 1: Apollo, Athena, Artemis, Loki, Jay, Ameterasu. Team 2: Thor, Tyr, SusanoO, Ares, Hercules, Huitzilopochtli. Alright, lets play some FOOTBALL!"

Apollo leaned over to Loki, "Dude, your dad sucks."

"Adoptive father! Adoptive father!" Loki corrected hastily as his team went into a huddle.

"So," Athena summed up, "We have three war gods, two gods of strength, and a storm god, against a god of arts, a goddess of wisdom, a goddess of hunting, a sun goddess, a god of mischief... and Jay."

"I could..." began Artemis, only to be cut off by her brother.

"NO, Artemis, you cannot shoot them with your arrows," he reprimanded her.

"You guys take the fun out of everything," she grumbled sourly.

"What we need to do..." Loki and Athena said at the same time. They glared at each other.

"Hello, god of mischief, I think the strategy planning goes to me," he told her.

"Yeah, well I'm goddess of wisdom AND war, so I'll handle the battle plans," Athena retorted.

"Yeah, like being a goddess of war is special, half my pantheon is a war diety," Loki sneered.

"Well ALL of my pantheon is taller than you, pipsqueak," she retorted.

"Guys!" Apollo interupted. "We have two more minutes before Loki's adoptive pop over there starts yelling at us. Do we have any helpful suggestions?" Apollo looked around. "Come on Ameterasu, you're a godhead, surely you have SOME ideas."

The young Japanese goddess shook her head to the negative.

Jay opened his mouth, only to be spoken over by Loki, "Give Artemis the ball, she's the fastest person on the team."

"Huh," Athena commented. "That was what I was gonna say."

"How do we block for her?" Apollo asked. "Those guys are all twice our size!"

Jay opened his mouth, but was again pre-empted, "Just block who you can, I'll do the main interference," Athena commanded.

"Why couldn't he have put some goddesses on the other team," Artemis grumbled as they came out of the huddle.

"Look, we would both like to be tackled by a valkyrie," Apollo chided her. "But focus on the game."

The game did not go favorably.

Artemis was tackled by a laughing Hercules. after the fourth time she was tackled. Artemis had enough.

Odin blew his whistle and bellowed, "Artemis! No bows and arrows on the field!"

She reluctantly put them away, grumbling about over grown muscle bound oafs feeling her up.

In the second quarter Loki and Athena got in a fist fight over stratigem before finally realizing they were talking about they actually were in agreeance.

In the third quarter they scored their only touch down. The ball was snapped to Ameterasu who began to run for the endzone. when SusanoO began to bear down on her yelped "EEK! SusanoO, protect me!"

Due to the fact that Ameterasu is the Godhead of SusanoO's pantheon, he had no choice but to do as she said. "Damnit, Amy, that's cheating!" he groaned as he turned around and whipped up a maelstrom to blow away the rest of the players on his team, which gave Ameterasu a chance to score a touch down.

"I'm allowing it," Odin bellowed, "But don't try it again Ame... Ami... Amu... Asian Sun-Goddess"

"He eventually has to learn our names," Ameterasu groaned to Loki as she rejoined the huddle.

"Are you kidding?" Loki laughed. "Dad barely knows how to pronounce Heimdal's name."

Another quarter and half later the game was over and They had one touch down to their name (Which thanks to the opposing team was Sissy-Boy and the Dweebettes... Loki and Apollo are unsure which of them was dubbed "Sissy-Boy" and which is a "Dweebette").

"What do you mean I wasn't the best player out there?" Artemis argued with her brother.

"Well, Jay and Athena played pretty well," Apollo shrugged as he walked with his twin back toward the locker rooms. "I mean did you SEE her lift Thor over her head and slam him into the ground?"

"How did she do that?" asked Artemis.

"War Goddess," He shrugged with a smile.

"But Jay didn't do anything!" Artemis countered. "Every time the ball was snapped he either ducked or jumped out of the way."

"Yeah... that's true, but the guy he was blocking, or was blocking him always wound up on the ground because they tripped over him, or dove at him and missed," Apollo pointed out.

Artemis thought on that for a minute. "Okay, Jay's pretty good." She rubbed her hands together. "One thing I do like about this diverse student population though..." she said as she looked toward the locker rooms.

"...Valkyries," They said in unison, though Apollo with much less relish.

Artemis shrugged giving her "I-am-what-I-am" Grin as she headed into the locker rooms calling out "Ladies, a fallen warrior has arrived."

"I have to remember," thought Apollo outloud, "To ask Loki if any of the valkyries actually do bat for the other team... Of course he'll probably say they all do, just like I do with the Muses... you'd think that as my subjects they'd agree to go out with me..."

Athena, Artemis, and Apollo were sitting in a small group of chairs in the commons. it was friday afternoon, and they were all looking forward to a quiet weekend.

"Why do you three hang out together?" Loki asked as he climbed over a couch and sat on the back.

"We're family," Artemis and Apollo responded at the same time.

"We're all family among our pantheons," Loki pointed out.

"To be more specific," Athena replied, lowering her book on modern weaponry. "We're the only parts of our family that we can stand."

"How so," Loki asked.

"Well, I've always liked Athens, so I've stayed on Athena's good side," Apollow began, lowering his sketch book. "Athena is the only goddess who's attitude doesn't immediately piss off Artemis, and vice versa. And as I'm a god of art and history, Athena sees my importance."

"Translation, you're freaks among your pantheon," Loki summed up.

"Funny," Artemis growled, setting aside the arrow she'd been carving. "I'd heared a rumor about your birth parents."

"Damn Thor and his big mouth," Loki growled.

"I haven't heard this one," Apollo said, turning to face his twin sister.

"His birth parents are both frost-giants of niffelheim," Artemis snickered.

"But you're... short," Apollo said, with a small amount of chuckling.

"Oh, shut up Sissy-boy," Loki growled, slipping down on the couch properly.

Athena, to her credit, raised her book again to hide her barely supressed grin.

"Hey," Ameterasu sighed as she sat down between Apollo, who moved his feet from where they'd been propped up, and Artemis. "I hate being the youngest Godhead," she sighed.

"Yeah," Loki said from the other couch. "We've all just been talking about how much families suck."

It went unnoticed that Jay sat on the end of the couch opposite Loki.

"That reminds me," Athena said, putting her book down again. "Amy, what's going on between you and your brother, SusanoO? Every time you two are in the same area, you look like you want him to leave... in a painful way."

"He killed my best friend," She sighed. "And just after she'd vomitted up food for him."

The whole group paused for a moment to assimilate what the young Godhead had just said.

"It still wasn't justified," Ameterasu growled.

"No, not at all," Loki replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

"You're an ass Loki," Ameterasu growled as she picked up her things and stormed off.

"Why do we hang out together anyway?" Loki asked after the sun-goddess had left.

"Because we're all freaks, you midget frost-giant," Athena replied, annoyed that he'd chased off one of the few female dieties she liked.

"You... I... SPARTA WON!" Loki barked as he grabbed his stuff and performed a storm off similar to what Loki had done.

"That insenstitive ass, he knows I hate people brining that up," Athena growled as she went back to her book.

"You two should just stop pretending and go at it already," Apollo mused outloud.

"Well... just shows what you know... Him... me... ASS-HAT!" she roared as she stormed off.

Apollo blinked.

He and Artemis regarded each other for a moment.

"The time you turned into a spring and couldn't turn back for a week," he said challengingly.

"Muses," she replied in an angry tone.

Apollo looked scanalized. "You... *****!" he snapped, shutting his sketch book and storming off.

She grumbled then looked up, noticing Jay was still there. "What?!" she snapped at him. "I already forgave him for bringing that up seventy-seven times, how many more times to I have to do it?!"

"Seventy times seventy-seven," Jay suggested.

Artemis glared at Jay, who simply returned an expectant look.

"FINE!" she blurted. "I'm going, I'm going. I hate you!"

"I know, most people do," Jay replied serenely.

Runaways: Days of Future... Whatever

a portal opens up in the new Hostel and a gaint hand comes through to grab Victor, yanking him into the vortex, and shutting just after. Nico casts a spell "Follow the Leader" to pull them all through to the future. But as it's been hours since Victor was yanked, it's also hours later in the future. as they land they are confronted by three women who tell them "You're right on time". One is easily recognizable as Karolina, a little older, and little more confident and holding the hand of a beautiful blonde who turns out to be Carol Danvers. the third is a very grim looking Molly, all grown up and glaring like hell at Nico.

The three bring them, in the Leapfrog, to the old Tar Pits Hostel, which they say isn't being monitored because Tony Stark has more on his plate these days: The X-Men. They inform them that Tony's SPIN tech darts were then blended with "The Cure" and made standard issue for Cape Killer units. When they arrive in the Hostel they ask questions like mad: Where's our Victor, why is Carol there? Then when they get in, they ask: Where is Old Lace. A new voice answers that. Chase clunks out of the shadows, now with a robotic leg and arm and eye. "Old Lace died fighting the people who did this to me," he growled. Future Molly saunters up to him and plants a NON-platonic kiss on his cheek.

They were met because their future selves all have memories of this. and a lot has happened. Karolina has gone through a form of Majesdane puberty that bosted her powers, making her the most powerful Majesdane ever. Xavin, resenting that his powers were eclipsed by her wifes, began to strain the relationship, and eventually ended it after she convinced Karolina to register. At Camp Hammond, Karolina is placed under the tutilage of Carol Danvers. They two grow very close, until Karolina kisses her. Carol initially had problems (Age, gender) but they fell in love and rejoined the Runaways together after Tony crossed the line.

Chase and Molly just grew closer as the years went on. after Old Lace's death, She came to sleep in his bed for comfort and... well, one thing lead to another, he tried to end it several times based on age, but she wouldn't let him. They convinced each other to show their true intelligence for a change.

Victor (Future Vic) had latent programming he hadn't managed to remove that slowly drove him to a dictatorship. Nico, so in love with him, agreed to do whatever it took to stay by his side. of course he didn't turn until after her training. She was frustrated with her lack of power, so she made a bargain with Dr. Doom. She swapped the Staff of One for lessons. he agreed and trained her. When she left is when Victor started changing. She rejoined Victor. Victor, as his first move, conqered Latveria. he enslaved the population by enforcing a madatory cybernetics law, forcing them to have cybernetic implants, at least in their brains. He now rules there. King Victorious and his Queen, Lamentation.

It turns out the X-Men leader, Hisako pulled forward Victor, with the use of a mutant on her team. they intend to use him to shut down Stark's army, which uses mostly Iron Man armors and Scarlet Spiders. Victor's powers would ensure victory, since Magneto is already dead, and Polaris is in a coma.

The Runaways, both future and past, go to free Victor, but that is when they get the surprise They didn't expect: Starks forces are being lead by Gerturde "Heroine" Yorkes

Really digging the Runaways thing. Not so much on the whole Greek/Asgardian Gods thing. Oh and, Lol on the Fluffy Destroyer of Worlds thing.

The Sad, Sad Saga of a Series of Substandard Spiders.

Peter Parker is accidently thrown into the multiverse and the Exiles must locate him before the 616 starts to degenerate.

to slow the process, Alternate reality equivilants are brought in from other realities to take his place for short periods of time.

the list includes:

The Monarch: From a reality where Peter Parker is the supreme monarch, ruling most of the world reluctantly. people actually vote him in year after year. he is married to Namora (basically the Exiles Namora). He has the same powers, though doesn't use web shooters any more. he is a master strategist, and an excellent motivator and organizor. He is a reluctant ruler, but yeilds to the will of the people.

Super-Spider: from a reality where Peter was raised by his parents and not his "Doddering Aunt and Uncle". he has stolen the technology from each of the villains he defeats, patents it, and markets it. he is extremely rich, and extremely rude.

Captain America: Peter saved a scientist who had duplicated the Super-Soldier formula and was being chased down by Hydra. in a last ditch attempt to keep it safe he jabbed the only syringe of the formula into Peter's thigh. it resulted in Peter having class 85 strength, and super speed along with his other powers.

Sgt. Parker: in a world where the cold war never ended, Peter was drafted into the Super Soldier program. he is a loyal soldier in the U.S. Army and dating USO showgirl Allison Blaire.

Titan: The son of Peter Parker and Felicia Hardy, he inherited all of his parents powers, but there was a mutation and his strength is class 100. he hates his father (Who died before he was born) and though Avengers have asked him many times, he refuses to work for them. his name is Ben Hardy

Arachnia: The serious and forthright Jessica Jones-Parker was bitten by the spider, giving her the same powers as her husband WOULD have gotten.

Black Widow: a female version of Peter Parker was bitten, but her powers include a seduction power, and she seems less than sane, and more than a little sadistic.

Puny Petey Parker: in a world where no one was bit by the Spider, Peter Parker has barely eeked out an existance. MJ dated him a couple of times, but found him boring. Jewel became the Hero Spider-Man should have been, and JEssica Jones moved on from her crush on PEter. PEter is a timid man, but passionate in his hatred of MJ.

Spider-Six: The Clone Saga went on longer than it originally did resulting in two more Spider-clones. One wears the Spider-Armor and calls himself "The Silver-Spider." the other extra clone seems to be host of the phoenix force. To make matters worse: THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHICH IS THE ORIGINAL! Now they are able to rule out Kaine and Spider-Cide, but the other four are left to basically draw straws to determine who shall be the original, one and only (And get MJ). The Peter that wins is much more light hearted than normal. the two who act normal are Scarlet Spider and Silver Spider. Spider Phoenix seems to have an agenda going on that no one knows about.

DC:AU... does Teen Titans count?

The Death of a Hero

The Titans were relaxing. The city was actually managing to stay 'saved' for more than a few hours, so the Titans were indulging in their favorite pasttimes. For Beast Boy and Cyborg it was playing video games against each other. For Raven it was reading dark and/or disturbing poetry, which she did, ironically, in the sunny common room. Starfire was cooking in the small kitchen, with her frightened, but willing, taste tester and boyfriend, Robin. Robin's method of relaxing, seeing his friends were safe. Robin stopped relaxing when he heard his communicator give a call-tone that was not a Titan's frequency.

The other's paused their activities to watch as Robin held the communicator to his ear like a phone. "Go BG," he said seriously into it as he stood. suddenly he froze midstride. "No... I..." they'd never seen such terror or pain write itself across Robin's face. "No, I'll be there," he finally said, turning his back on them. "Give me... a few hours, I'll be on the road in twenty."

When he turned around his cheeks were glistening with tears. "I..." he looked at them all. "I have to go out of town for a few days. Cy, you're in charge of the team on missions. Rae, your in charge of the team at home." He walked out.

The four remaining Titans exchanged confused looks. Starfire immediately left her food to chase after Robin.

"Friend Robin," she caled. "What has happened?"

"I..." He opened the door to his extremely well kept quarters. "I have to go home for a few days. Someone... someone died."

"Oh... Friend Robin," She gasped, standing in his door way as he quickly packed. "I-I will go with you?" she ased.

"No... Star..." he sighed. "I'm going into a world you wouldn't understand," he objected.

"Another universe?" she asked, confusedly.

"No..." He put a hand to his head. "Here," he explained. "I'm Robin, all the time. All day, ever day, I'm Robin here."

"yes," Starfire nodded.

"But there... I'm only Robin sometimes," he stressed. "All other times I'm... well, I'm someone else."

"As I am Starfire here, but Queen Koriand'r on Tamaran," She asked.

Robin looked up, surprised she would understand. "Yeah, I guess it's a bit like that," he smiled. "I'm going back to see the people who trained me," he finally admitted.

"I will go with you," she said, more gently this time, but without question in her voice."

He paused a moment. "Thank you," he finally replied. "there's something you should know," he said, as he pulled street clothes on over his costume, removing his cape in the process. "When we get there, unless I tell you to, don't call me Robin."

"What should I call you then?" she asked curiously.

He turned back to her as he removed his mask for the first time, revealing his blue eyes. "Tim. I want you to call me Tim Drake."

"I will do so Friend R... Friend Tim," she said with a smile.

"Good, I'll explain the rest on the way," he smiled back at her. After quickly packing her they both piled on his NON-tricked out motorcyle and began the two hour drive to Gotham.

They screeched to a halt in front of Wayne Manor. Robin pulled off his helmet and was met seeing a lone figure standing at the top of the stairs.

"I was wondering when you'd get here," Dick greeted his replacement with a forced smile. Dick's eyes flitted to Starfire. "Why'd you bring your girlfriend?" he asked.

"She wanted to come and be here," Tim replied. He put his helmet on the bike and walked away from it, then stopped. he looked at the bike, and the bags strapped to the back. "Dick, can you show Kory Anders to a room," Tim asked. "While I put up the bike?"

"Sure," Dick nodded. he gave a gesture to Starfire, who quickly realized that she must use a form of her real name while staying here. "By the way, Bab's has you staying in your old room."

"Thanks," Tim said as he started the bike again.

minutes later they were in the main living room of Wayne Manor. "Hope you liked the dime tour," Dick said distantly.

"I did not know I was supposed to pay," Starfire said as she opened the purse Robin had had her bring.

Dick put his had on the purse. "It's just a phrase," he assured her. "You don't need to pay."

"oh..." Starfire felt uncomfortable as she followed the strange man from room to room. in this new room there were two women, but both were barely a few years older than the Titans.

"Babs, Kara," Dick greeted them.

The red-head looked up, surprised there was a third female in the room. "This is Kory, Tim's girlfriend," dick introduced her.

"H-hello," she greeted.

"Hi," Barbra Gordon greeted as she wiped her eyes. she'd obviously been crying a great deal. she stood and walked over, shaking Starfire's hand. "Tim's said wonderful things about you, and all the Titans."

"I... He has not mentioned you," Starfire said sadly.

"Batman would have killed me if I did," Tim said as he showed up, a hint of darkness in his voice.

Barbra took Robin in a hug, giving him a kiss on the forehead, before releasing Robin to stand by Starfire. "Are you okay?" she asked Robin.

"I guess," he replied. "I knew him the least out of all of us," Tim said, obviously not counting Starfire or Supergirl in the "us". "But I'll still miss him... he really cared about us all."

"I know," Barbra smiled distantly. "you know he used to help me with my pre--calc homework on long nights in the cave?"

"No," Tim said with a chuckle. He looked about, obviously expecting someone. "Where is He?" Robin said with annoyance in his voice.

"Where else," Dick said darkly. "Patrolling."

Babs rolled her eyes. "You know him, Tim, He'll just say 'they won't stop for a funeral, I can't'."

"This isn't just some funeral," Tim gritted out. "This is Alfred."

they all paused. Dick opened the liquor cabinet and poured himself, Barbra, and Tim drinks. Kara gave Starfire a nodde of the head, and the two alien girls left as the three 'Wards' sipped grape juice, and talked about what was going on with who.

I enjoyed some of the Spider-Man stuff. Monarch sounded interesting, as did Arachnia and Puny Pety Parker. The rest you kinda lost me on.

That death of Alfred though is good. A note though, if you're going by the Robin in the Titans show, then you should know that that was Dick Grayson. Though that show wasn't really apart of the Timmverse DCAU. Sure you could possibly shoe horn it in taking place before Grayson went to collage, which is when we first saw him in Batman: The Animated Series, but it's quite a stretch. However, there may have been a DCAU Titans that we never saw, which is evident from Speedy's appearance in JLU. So, you can pretty much go nuts with a group of Titans that are similar, but never officially existed. Like a Timmverse Titans or whatever.
