Anubis' "How would you do it?" Thread.

Agreed. The institution's name is good, but usually the government and corporations focus on how good the acronym sounds rather than the actual title.

A revised version of my Zodiac idea:

The new Zodiac is an international secret society, formed by Jake Fury, who has gathered together 11 powerful and/or influential people who he feels, due to their Zodiac signs, are destined for greatness. Together, they slowly and secretly acheive world domination. The new Zodiac is mased on the Chinese Zodiac, and the members are:

Rat: Jake Fury, the founder, bringing his brilliant tactical mind and the resources of his contacts all over the world.

Ox: Sebastian Shaw, bringing the wealth and resources of the Hellfire culb and the many corperations owned by it's members.

Tiger: Crossbones, bringing the resources of HYDRA and several white supremacist/neo fascist groups like the Ku Klux Klan.

Rabit: Madam Hydra, also representing HYDRA.

Dragon: The Mandarin, bringing the resources of his militant forces and those loyal to him in China.

Snake: The Abomination, bringing the resources of the Russian mafia and his contacts with the KGB and former KGB agents.

Horse: Taskmaster, bringing the manpower of his many schools across the planet and his contacts with other assassins and mercenaries.

Sheep: Puppet Master, serving as one of the Zodiac's chief scientists, interrigators, and "reprogramers." Commands a small army of sleeper agents in various possitions of power.

Monkey: Arcade, the Zodiac's other scientist and interrigator, and with Taskmaster commands their enforcers and assassins.

Rooster: Count Nefaria, bringing the resources and support of the many Maggia crime families he is allied with.

Dog: Magneto, bringing the forces and resources of the Brotherhood of Mutants.

Pig: Absorbing Man, serving as an enforcer and bringing his many contacts within New York's "Super Villain Community."

Obviously, many of these people have clashing ideals and motivations, and would probably want to kill each other. Especially Crossbones and madam Hydra wanting tot ake out Magneto and The Mandarin. However, they all see The Zodiac as a means of acheiving their respective goals, and the agreement is that when they acheive total control, the world will be split up evenly between them, and they'll only ever have to see each other at very infrequent meetings. They'd become THE super villain team of the Marvel Universe. Say MI-13 fights The Hellifre Club, or The Avengers fight The Brotherhood. There would be hints of a connection to a greater, more dangerous threat. The Zodiac would be somewhat comperable to The Senior Partners from Angel: All powerful unseen villains who secretly run everything. Of course, we'd see The Zodiac eventually. But that's besides the point.

Agreed. The institution's name is good, but usually the government and corporations focus on how good the acronym sounds rather than the actual title.
Well, given that it's Quasi-governemental and pretty secretive, they don't want anyone who'd CARE about the acronym knowing it.

Try this one: ART- Active Response Team. Pretty much my heavy hitters.
Wyatt Williams: half-demon firestarter. he's the token "new guy" that we watch the new world unfold for. He can create and control fire any way he wants, and can be bad ass... if he learns to use his powers. he's a vetrinarian by trade.

Jeanette Collis: high level telepath. Eleven years old. She is the team's innocence and purity. She has Xavier-level strength. As the youngest team member she is often fearful, but completely trusts her team and IBAE.

Matilda Thatcher: Phantom, formerly ghost. Killed in a high school shooting she used to haunt a school until IBAE threatened to force her to cross leave this world. She chose to work for IBAE instead. as her emotions become more extreme her powers grow. While she can't be physically hurt, she can be hurt by magic.

Magi: Time-displaced secret agent. he's actually an IBAE agent from an undisclosed time in the future. He was accidently stranded in our era and since IBAE currently has laws prohibiting time-travel, They won't help him. he is extremely skilled and an excellent hand to hand combatant and strategist. Team leader.

Harry Tower: a sasquatch from the forests of japan. he and his family saved a forest-god from a great monster. The rest of his family was killed during the attack. for his bravery the forest-god granted Harry the strength of 100 of his people, which was already significantly more than peak human strength. he has the intelligence of a 3-4 year-old child. very loyal with a peaceful disposition, but can become very violent when angered.

John Jupiter: Alien fighter-pilot, on assignment. His real name is unpronouncable with a human tongue. he has a deep voice and military training. He would be a force to be reconned with on his own... IF he weren't roughly the size and shape of a green rat. he has a very bellacose personality, and usually pilot a small ship into battle and strategizes with Magi.

Jane Jupiter: Alien exobiologist, refugee on Earth. Her real name is unpronouncable by the human mouth. She speaks English fluently with a slight british accent. She is a brilliant biologist and physician. She spent a good fifty years going from planet to planet abducting specimens, disecting them, killing them, and dumping them... IN THAT ORDER. it isn't that she enjoys causing pain, or that she is cruel, she just doesn't care. She was the soul survivor of the prison transport (Piloted by John Jupiter) that crashed. She recieved amnesty on earth in exchange for her services. She was sentanced to death.

Power Man

The Premis: After the events of World War Hulk and the whole Skrull thing, Luke leaves The Avengers, and he and Jessica move to Los Angelis, to live with Luke's grandmother, Harriet Lucas, who moved there a few years ago (which is why he started swearing again). There, Luke sets up shop as a private investigator and bounty hunter, with Jess helping run the agency. While initially boged down by standard cases, like infidelity and tax fraud, his own nature eventually gets him caught up in more serious matters. He makes a point of trying to personally deal with local criminals, and investigate local mobsters, including the few remnants of The Pride.

Villains:

Mr. Syn: At first glance, he is merely an elderly Asian man who owns a chain of laundromats. However, he is in actuality a demon, former minion of the Minoru's and now a ruthless crime boss who's organization os made up of both humans (mostly former members of local Asian gangs) and demons.

Rupert Klaus: A cyborg and former minion of the Yorkes family.

Anthony Busco: A low level member of one of the East Coat Maggia families who's come to L.A. to fill the gap left by the Pride.

The Tinkerer: Moved to L.A. and started selling weapons to anyone who asked. Has become incredibly suicidal after the deaths of his son and grandson, but hasn't got the nerv to do the job himself. So, he's intentionally put himself in a possition where he'll probably get whacked.

Bullseye: Came to L.A. while on the run, and got plastic surgury to remove the scar left by Daredevil. Works for Busco, and has been killing mobsters left and right to aid in his rise to power. Has become somewhat obsessed with breaking Luke, mostly because he's bored and Daredevil isn't around.

Bloodscream and Roughhouse: Working as enforcers for Syn.

HARL'S REVIEW

Since I know we're all dying for attention anyway.

ZOKEN - IBAE
This takes pace in my "IBAE"-verse.
As been pointed out, IBAE=meh-ish.

A group of teenagers seemingly assembled at random find themselves blown on the winds of destiny.
Sounds a little hokey, but cool. It's not like it doesn't have the potential to be awesome.

Derrik Hunter- He has two special things about him: He is a magic hunter (which means he can light his eyes up green and see magic) and he has a peice of philosopher's stone in his arm (accidently put there instead of a titanium pin). Add to that the fact that his high school was attacked by people using extremely high tech, and he was the one to evacuate his fellow students including the likely targets. he is the former captain of the high school football team, replaced by Nacho when he broke his arm.
- Like the character. "Hunter" is a bit on the nose.
- What kind of magic does he actually hunt?
- When exactly did he break his arm?
- How do you accidentally put in a piece of philosopher's stone?
- Are you saying he has mad skillz with this: "Add to that the fact that his high school was attacked by people using extremely high tech, and he was the one to evacuate his fellow students including the likely targets."?

Ignacio "Nacho" Juarez: Apparently his genetics were messed with at a young age. He can dissolve his body into a liquid ceramic and reharden it in any shape. he is a high level shape shifter, but his mass remains the same, so his size can't shift much either way. The liquid he's made of is always referred to as ceramic. Someone once made the mistake of calling it "Mud" and Nacho almost took his head off.
- Looks to be a good character too. A bit of a jock?
- Why is he called "Nacho"?
- Ceramic isn't a liquid.
- Nice twist on the powers.

Beatrice Wilder: High school witch. She was simply got with an intrest in wicca when her great grandmother gave her a book bag that was enchanted to hold any amount of books she wanted to put in it without getting heavier, and without running out of space. She now has a small library of magic books in her bag and is teaching herself spell casting.
- Another good idea. Is "Wilder" inspired by Runaways?
- They all go to the same high school? Does she know Derrick and Nacho?
- Powers inspired by hammerspace? Like the idea.

Robyn Goodfellow: she believed she was a normal girl until recently when her school was attacked and Derrik told her that she was different under his magic vision. they went to her parents who explained that she was in fact the granddaughter of the fae, Puck, making her great-grandaughter of the Fae King Oberon. She is just getting used to the massive amount of magic coursing through her body as her parents just recently unlocked her powers.
- Like the fae thing.
- What kind of powers will she be having?
- How does she relate to the others in the high school setting? Another goth chick?

John Lobotu: disguised android, designed for infiltration and assassination missions. When his creators discovered he'd achieved sentience, the decided to destroy him. John refused. he killed them all and escaped to the states. He is perhaps the most "morally Gray" individual among them. he believes death to be natural and states that if he worshipped anything, it would be death. He can disguised himself as any human and has a number of onboard weapons as well as handheld weapons he can loan to his friends.
- Like the idea. Not terribly original, but cool.
- I take it from the "morally grey" thing, that the others are more or less boyscouts?
- Disguised as a teen or an adult?

The five above were the original group. after they started running from the tech weilding attackers they got on the road. Along the way they picked up two more and John Lobotu got a soul (courtesy of Hades).
Hades the realm, or Hades the god?

Elaine Mavis: werewolf. She was taken prisoner by a werewolf biker gang and passed around. she has sever mood swings and emotional problems. She can, at times, be a bezerker, or a useless weeping lump. Derrik seems to be extremely close to her.
- "Passed around" equals rape?
- Teenager, I take it?
- Why is Derrik close to her? Your entries don't need to be über-detailed, but stuff like this can be stated in a short sentence.

Brittney "Butch" Cassidy: Martial artist. She is capable of feats of strength well beyond her strength level, including punching through solid rock, leaping ridiculous heights, etc. She became a martial artist because the boys in her age group said she would never be any good. quote: "I did it because they said I couldn't". She's hot headed and one of the first to rush into a fight.
- Where did they pick her up?
- Magic fuelled powers?
- "Butch" because of the Cassidy name or because she's manly?

Delcron and the Out-Worlders: our motley crew came across a group of interdimensional invaders, intent on conquoring this universe using their advanced technology. Delcron (an alias, his real name is unknown) orders our heroes destruction when the heroes witness the Out-Worlder's arrival. However, not only do our heroes escap the skirmish, but they also managed to steal a couple peices of Delcron's technology. Delcron is extremely interested in the fact that magic exists.
Okay, nothing wrong with a few inter-dimensional invaders here and there.

The Stalkers: Those who attacked our original group's school. They were specifically targetting our main characters, and no one knows why. our one clue is that Derrick managed to get into a fist fight with their leader and in the process knocked off his helmet... his eyes were glowing green just like Derrik's. (It will eventually be revealed that the leader IS Derrik, from the future)
The "future main character" thing can be extremely contrived, but has potential here. Can't really say much about this group. Bit of a corny name, if not a little creepy. Is that the name they themselves use or is just what the main characters call them?

THE QUESTION - ZODIAC
The new Zodiac is an international secret society, formed by Jake Fury, who has gathered together 11 powerful and/or influential people who he feels, due to their Zodiac signs, are destined for greatness. Together, they slowly and secretly acheive world domination. The new Zodiac is mased on the Chinese Zodiac, and the members are:
Like the set-up. Basically what the Zodiac could've been all along, but what they haven't been. Why the sudden shift to the Chinese Zodiac though? Cooler animals or because Jake Fury had some kind of Eastern enlightenment?

Rat: Jake Fury, the founder, bringing his brilliant tactical mind and the resources of his contacts all over the world.
Interesting choice to make the main leader the rat. Says a little about the kind of character he is, and it seems he wouldn't hesitate to stab any of these guys in the back if he deemed it necessary.

Ox: Sebastian Shaw, bringing the wealth and resources of the Hellfire culb and the many corperations owned by it's members.
Nice choice. Ox fits him nicely.

Tiger: Crossbones, bringing the resources of HYDRA and several white supremacist/neo fascist groups like the Ku Klux Klan.
Another nice choice, although something can be said for Crossbones not being anywhere near smart enough to be let into a secret society that's actually basing itself on intellect and resources. A disguised Red Skull might better suit this.

Rabit: Madam Hydra, also representing HYDRA.
Viper, I assume? Or would you introduce a new Madame Hydra?

Dragon: The Mandarin, bringing the resources of his militant forces and those loyal to him in China.
Nice choice. The new route they've decided to take with the character over in Iron Man seems to fit nicely with what you've got planned for him.

Snake: The Abomination, bringing the resources of the Russian mafia and his contacts with the KGB and former KGB agents.
The KGB is dead and I don't recall him having any ties to the Russian mob, although I could easily be wrong on that front. I would be interested in seeing how a guy like the Abomination gets himself into this group. Selection, or what?

Horse: Taskmaster, bringing the manpower of his many schools across the planet and his contacts with other assassins and mercenaries.
Why the horse? That's basically my question. I've got a general feeling where you're going with it, but I want to see what kind of an explanation you've got.

Sheep: Puppet Master, serving as one of the Zodiac's chief scientists, interrigators, and "reprogramers." Commands a small army of sleeper agents in various possitions of power.
Nice choice again. Can't say much about him.

Monkey: Arcade, the Zodiac's other scientist and interrigator, and with Taskmaster commands their enforcers and assassins.
Finally someone who brings back Arcade. Always liked the character.

Rooster: Count Nefaria, bringing the resources and support of the many Maggia crime families he is allied with.
Good choice, again.

Dog: Magneto, bringing the forces and resources of the Brotherhood of Mutants.
Magneto hasn't actually been a Brotherhood leader in a while, excusing the sorry group he got in "Planet-X". The Acolytes are barely loyal to him, and are otherwise dead, so I'm wondering what exactly Magneto brings to this group. He doesn't seem to have much of a say in things these days.

Pig: Absorbing Man, serving as an enforcer and bringing his many contacts within New York's "Super Villain Community."
Although I'd definitely see the Absorbing Man involved in this kind of venture, for him to actually be a member? He's not anywhere near smart enough to actually grasp the potential of this group, and I don't think any of the other leaders would much like having a guy like him sitting at the table.

- Bound to fail, I assume?
- It doesn't seem they're much of a "team", but more of an organization.
- When the inevitable big battle comes, do they stand with each other or flee/betray/other option in which they don't fight together jointly?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

ZOKEN - ART
Well, given that it's Quasi-governemental and pretty secretive, they don't want anyone who'd CARE about the acronym knowing it.
I'm mostly talking from a aesthetic purpose. I'd cringe at seeing IBAE in a story or a comic. It just doesn't have the "FBI", "CIA", "KGB" kind of ring to it.

- So... these guys work for the government? Unlike your kids on the road?
- Half-demon, huh? Nice.
- What kind of guy is he? Seems a shy type.

Jeanette Collis: high level telepath. Eleven years old. She is the team's innocence and purity. She has Xavier-level strength. As the youngest team member she is often fearful, but completely trusts her team and IBAE.
- Molly?
- I assume you mean telepathic strength. ;)
- Not a lot of governments that would send an 11-year old into combat.

- Thatcher any indication for her personality?
- What kind of powers? Doesn't seem like a ghost can do much.

- Nice premise.
- Why just one name?
- I take from the Magi name that his time travel abilities are derived from magic?
- Teenager or adult?

Harry Tower: a sasquatch from the forests of japan. he and his family saved a forest-god from a great monster. The rest of his family was killed during the attack. for his bravery the forest-god granted Harry the strength of 100 of his people, which was already significantly more than peak human strength. he has the intelligence of a 3-4 year-old child. very loyal with a peaceful disposition, but can become very violent when angered.
- Why a Japanese sasquatch?
- Harry Tower is a nickname then?
- Can he speak?

John Jupiter: Alien fighter-pilot, on assignment. His real name is unpronouncable with a human tongue. he has a deep voice and military training. He would be a force to be reconned with on his own... IF he weren't roughly the size and shape of a green rat. he has a very bellacose personality, and usually pilot a small ship into battle and strategizes with Magi.
- Difference between a rat and a green rat? Or is that just his colour?
- Interesting concept.

- "Jupiter", because they're both alien?
- I take it John would want to take her down?
- Bit of a snob, huh?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

THE QUESTION - POWER MAN
The Premis: After the events of World War Hulk and the whole Skrull thing, Luke leaves The Avengers, and he and Jessica move to Los Angelis, to live with Luke's grandmother, Harriet Lucas, who moved there a few years ago (which is why he started swearing again). He makes a point of trying to personally deal with local criminals, and investigate local mobsters, including the few remnants of The Pride.
- Nice premise. Seems to be Cage's thing.
- What's the status of the kid? Skrull?
- Iron Fist cameo?

Mr. Syn: At first glance, he is merely an elderly Asian man who owns a chain of laundromats. However, he is in actuality a demon, former minion of the Minoru's and now a ruthless crime boss who's organization os made up of both humans (mostly former members of local Asian gangs) and demons.
Like the concept. Does he answer to anyone now?

Rupert Klaus: A cyborg and former minion of the Yorkes family.
Okay. Cool.

Anthony Busco: A low level member of one of the East Coat Maggia families who's come to L.A. to fill the gap left by the Pride.
Should I be thinking Anthony Soprano?

The Tinkerer: Moved to L.A. and started selling weapons to anyone who asked. Has become incredibly suicidal after the deaths of his son and grandson, but hasn't got the nerv to do the job himself. So, he's intentionally put himself in a possition where he'll probably get whacked.
- Always liked him.
- How'd his family die?

Bullseye: Came to L.A. while on the run, and got plastic surgury to remove the scar left by Daredevil. Works for Busco, and has been killing mobsters left and right to aid in his rise to power. Has become somewhat obsessed with breaking Luke, mostly because he's bored and Daredevil isn't around.
- Taking away the stupid bullseye tattoo as well, I assume?
- On the other hand, Bullseye seems like the kind of guy who'd want to keep a scar like that.
- What's Busco offering? Just money?

Bloodscream and Roughhouse: Working as enforcers for Syn.
Nice obscure find.

Yeah, that's it. Now review "The Circle" on the previous page, *****es.

Like the set-up. Basically what the Zodiac could've been all along, but what they haven't been. Why the sudden shift to the Chinese Zodiac though? Cooler animals or because Jake Fury had some kind of Eastern enlightenment?

The switch to the Chinese Zodiac started out simply because the Greek didn't seem to be working for him. But it sort of built itself up into a quasi-myystical thing.

Another nice choice, although something can be said for Crossbones not being anywhere near smart enough to be let into a secret society that's actually basing itself on intellect and resources. A disguised Red Skull might better suit this.

The animals are chosen based on their personalities and skills. Tiger fist Crossbones better than The Red Skull, and I'd think the Skull sending an agent instead of appearing himself would be more like him. Same for Taskmaster: Horse fist him personality wise.

Viper, I assume? Or would you introduce a new Madame Hydra?

Yeah, Viper.

The KGB is dead and I don't recall him having any ties to the Russian mob, although I could easily be wrong on that front. I would be interested in seeing how a guy like the Abomination gets himself into this group. Selection, or what?

The KGB thing was a bit of a typo. I meant to say the Russian Government. As for the Russian Mob, Abomination was the leader of the Vegas Russian Mob for a while.

He holds a lot of sway in the mutant community, which is important to the group. And Magneto sees the group as his last shot, so he's a little desperate.

Although I'd definitely see the Absorbing Man involved in this kind of venture, for him to actually be a member? He's not anywhere near smart enough to actually grasp the potential of this group, and I don't think any of the other leaders would much like having a guy like him sitting at the table.

My plan is that he starts out as a patsy, given full membership because he has a lot of contacts in the criminal underworld, but out of all the head members, he's the least important. However, my plan is that over time, he becomes more like the Absorbing Man in Earth X.

- Bound to fail, I assume?
- It doesn't seem they're much of a "team", but more of an organization.
- When the inevitable big battle comes, do they stand with each other or flee/betray/other option in which they don't fight together jointly?

If this happened, I'd like them to stick around for a while. Marvel should have a more permanent villain team/organization. And I could see these guys being the type of villains when, even when defeated, they can easily get back up again. As for the big fight: They'd fight together. They may not like each other, but they're not stupid.

THE QUESTION - POWER MAN

- Nice premise. Seems to be Cage's thing.
- What's the status of the kid? Skrull?
- Iron Fist cameo?

Hell yeah, there'd be an Iron Fist cameo. As for the kid, not sure. My prediction for the yellow eyes thing is that neither Jess nor Luke are a Skrull: They're kid was taken and replaced by a Skrull sleeper agent. They get the kid back, and then move to L.A.

Like the concept. Does he answer to anyone now?

Nope. After the fall of The Pride, he's his own man. But he might end up working for the Gibborum later on. Or at least with them.

Should I be thinking Anthony Soprano?

Wouldn't be a bad idea.

- How'd his family die?

Not sure how his son died, but his grandson was one of the kids who died in the Stamford incident.

- Taking away the stupid bullseye tattoo as well, I assume?
- On the other hand, Bullseye seems like the kind of guy who'd want to keep a scar like that.

It is taking away the scar and the tattoo, yeah. He didn't want to lose it, but he had to so the cops wouldn't recognise him. The whole idea is that his presence in L.A. is somewhat secret. He's just introduced as a really deadly hitman in a buisness suit with black gloves and short hair. Then when he faces Luke, Luke doesn't recognise him, so he puts on his old mask and asks if it jogs his memory.

- What's Busco offering? Just money?

Money, a place to stay, fine food, and lots of women. Also, a chance to kill a lot of people, which Bullseye always enjoys.

Nice obscure find.

They seem like good hitmen for the supernatural mafia.

HARL'S REVIEW

Since I know we're all dying for attention anyway.

ZOKEN - IBAE

As been pointed out, IBAE=meh-ish.

Sounds a little hokey, but cool. It's not like it doesn't have the potential to be awesome.
Keeping the acronym, sorry.

-He doesn't choose to hunt magic, that's just what he is, a magic hunter. He can see and sense magic, and when he developes this skill, he can identify the magic.
-Football injury, he was the team captain until it happened.
-Philosopher's Stone apparently looks like titanium. It's also known as "Destiny Stone" in this universe because it has odd effects on probability causing enormously improbably events to occur.
-I'm saying that he's still a well trained athlete and a very noble person who's willing to do pretty much anything for to protect people.

- Looks to be a good character too. A bit of a jock?
- Why is he called "Nacho"?
- Ceramic isn't a liquid.
- Nice twist on the powers.
-"Nacho" is a common shortening of the name "Ignacio", like Bill for William or Bobby for Robert
- True, but it's the closest analogue I could think of, and no one dares to describe it as mud, because as stated he has some racial sensitivity
- Thank you, I did my best.

- Another good idea. Is "Wilder" inspired by Runaways?
- They all go to the same high school? Does she know Derrick and Nacho?
- Powers inspired by hammerspace? Like the idea.
-That is where I got the name, I like the name. I originally just wanted to call her "B. Wilder".
-Yeah, all the same High school, She knows of Derrik and Nacho, but is not friends with them until Derrick saves her life.
- Didn't think of hammerspace at the time, but it works. And the bag isn't her power, she's a practicing witch, but she's still fairly dependant on her books.

- Like the fae thing.
- What kind of powers will she be having?
- How does she relate to the others in the high school setting? Another goth chick?
-Glad, I don't see many fae in comics
-In my universe the Fae are actually weak gods. Her powers are pretty potent, but depend on her imagination and confidence. she has little of both.
-She's actually a rather bubbly pleasant girl who wants to become a nurse, her lack of self confidence is the only reason she doesn't shoot to be a doctor.

- Like the idea. Not terribly original, but cool.
- I take it from the "morally grey" thing, that the others are more or less boyscouts?
- Disguised as a teen or an adult?
-Agreed, not terribly orriginal, but workable.
-Think of them as naive, they believe that an enemy must be knocked out and in a fight both can walk away alive.
-Teen, to blend in better (How else could a robot hide an identity crisis?)

Hades the realm, or Hades the god?
God, but whether he meant it as a curse or a gift is left ambigious.

- "Passed around" equals rape?
- Teenager, I take it?
- Why is Derrik close to her? Your entries don't need to be über-detailed, but stuff like this can be stated in a short sentence.
-Yeah, didn't feel the need to be too explicit.
-Oldest of the group at 19
-He's protective, and he sees her as needing the most protection.

- Where did they pick her up?
- Magic fuelled powers?
- "Butch" because of the Cassidy name or because she's manly?
-Texas, I wanted Louisiana, but something about her screamed texas
-The explanaition I eventually give is that she's pushed her self so hard with martial arts that she's "Hardened her soul" so that she is capable of doing these feats. What her strength won't acomplish, she can use her soul in a rudimentary form of magic to do.
-Both, she's not physically manly, but in her behaviors, such as the way she walks, talks, acts.

Okay, nothing wrong with a few inter-dimensional invaders here and there.

The "future main character" thing can be extremely contrived, but has potential here. Can't really say much about this group. Bit of a corny name, if not a little creepy. Is that the name they themselves use or is just what the main characters call them?[/qote]
I liked the interdimensional travelers too.

Agreed, it's not over used and it's not something that would be revealed to early. The kids call them that as the Stalkers seemed to just pop up every so often, but they always manage to escape, especially after taking on new members.

ZOKEN - ART

I'm mostly talking from a aesthetic purpose. I'd cringe at seeing IBAE in a story or a comic. It just doesn't have the "FBI", "CIA", "KGB" kind of ring to it.
If you can come up with something better...

- So... these guys work for the government? Unlike your kids on the road?
- Half-demon, huh? Nice.
- What kind of guy is he? Seems a shy type.
-Not any one government persay, it's an international thing, but basically yeah, governement.
-yup, mother was raped, becomes more of a factor later on when he starts summoning hellfire
-Not really shy, more like he was a skeptic, despite the fact that his small town community thought him a "witch" or a pyromaniac. He's fearful of his powers, and to an extent his team.

- Molly?
- I assume you mean telepathic strength. ;)
- Not a lot of governments that would send an 11-year old into combat.
-Not inspired by Molly, no.
-I mean the strength of her telepathy yes.
-Not a lot of governements would let giant-hercules-beetles take on human form and live a normal life inside the U.S. borders. (Part of this universe, but it illustrates the kind of world they're working with)

- Thatcher any indication for her personality?
- What kind of powers? Doesn't seem like a ghost can do much.
-I don't know, what does thatcher indicate? She's a bit of a *****, sarcastic, witty, and short tempered. especially when it comes to Wyatt
-low level thermal control, telekinesis, intangibility, strength, flight, mental domination/possession, empathic control, etc. Think of the worst hauntings you've ever heard of. The more emotional she gets the more her powers grow.

- Nice premise.
- Why just one name?
- I take from the Magi name that his time travel abilities are derived from magic?
- Teenager or adult?
-Thank you
-Because if he uses his real name he may give away hints to the future.
-No, no magic. he has a basic understanding of the workings though. "Magi" refers to the wisemen in the Nativity... smart guy, traveled from afar?
-Adult

- Why a Japanese sasquatch?
- Harry Tower is a nickname then?
- Can he speak?
-That's where he was born (and The Forest God thing doesn't work to well in many other places)
-Harry is what everyone calls him.
-yes, but again, very simple and basic.

- Difference between a rat and a green rat? Or is that just his colour?
- Interesting concept.
-That's just his color
-thank you, I wanted to think of an alien I hadn't seen done before

- "Jupiter", because they're both alien?
- I take it John would want to take her down?
- Bit of a snob, huh?
-yeah, because they're alien, neither of them are, in fact, from jupiter.
-John is there in case she ever tries to get off-world. Like I said he was the pilot of her prison transport. he's there to keep an eye on her.
- yeah, but she warms up to her student...

Margeret Thatcher, one of Britain's previous prime ministers. Known for her strict ruling. Real iron fist type. Had a good relationship with the SAS.

She was also incredibly conservative, and had a very strong dislike of homosexuals. A lot of the early storylines in Hellblazer were meant as criticisms of Thatcher.

Yep. There's a reason they called her "The Iron Lady" and "Attila the Hen".

Also, Margaret, not Margeret. My mistake.

And now I know.

Where the rest of my answers sufficient Harl?

OH! Q, I liked your Luke Cage idea, though (And maybe it's just that I'm really into teams) maybe he should have a few others out there. Not necessarily anyone he's worked with before, but he's a dad now. He has to make sure he comes back at the end of the day. Just a personal opinion, love the inclusion of Pride stuff. Maybe a recurring guest appearance of Chase Stein?

AND...

I like the Zodiac, but that seems like a lot of heavy hitting baddies in one place, who's going to stand against them?

Yeah, I got what I wanted from then. Still not completely clear on the purpose of a "magic hunter", but all in all, some good stuff.

Well, he and Jess are kind of a team. I mean, she stays home to take care of the kid, but if he really needed back up, Jess could show up, and she's pretty nigh indestructible herself. And there would be a team up with Danny every now and then. Besides, the reason he quit The Avengers is because being a P.I. is comparatively safer than being one of Earth's Mightiest Heroes. As for Chase, yeah, he'd probably cross paths with the Runaways a bit. He'd also run across Terror from Terror, Inc. a bit, since they're both nigh indesctructible soldiers of fortune.

They'd sort of be the enemies of the entire MU. Kind of like The Society in DC, but better.

In a way a Magic Hunter is a sort of magical being in and of themself. It is a genetic trait that is passed down generation to generation. No idea yet how an ordinary high schooler wound up with it yet. What ever it is it will be something insanely improbable. It isn't a purpose or a chosen profession or magical skill, it is an inborn ability that cannot be taught to those who aren't born with the power.

It is rare, I have only one other Magic Hunter in that universe so far. He comes from a line of samurai who hunt Youkai... But that is part of a complicated and fairly girly story.

I still think he should have more than just himself and his part-timer wife. I think she'd be more comfortable if he had help. I'm not even talking about a meta-human (or at least not a popular one). Like maybe... damn, I don't know, he hires Gallo or another of the Loners to do some of the work with him.

Okay, I think I get that now.

Well, the idea is that he doesn't seek out life threatening trouble. He's just a P.I. who also tends to beat up punk kids in his neighborhood. However, he gets drawn into the bigger ****, mostly unintentionally.

He has to know it will eventually go that way. I mean He's Luke Cage, he has to know that, for starters, there are super-people out there who want him dead. and two, if he's fighting crime in this world (even just as a P.I.) he is going to run into super-villains.

Yeah, it is kind of in his nature to seek out trouble. I guess he could have some kind of partner.

Maybe give him a sidekick. Create one, or... well I just like Ricochet, so I think it would be cool to play those two off each other. Have Julie babysit every so often (Maybe even mention that she once dressed as Jewel for halloween).

I don't know.

I can see the comparison, although I can't stand Shadowpact.

I like the Circle, but I was confused by Blade's involvement. If they need a fighter, they have Wong. Maybe I'm just not getting it.

Also, wouldn't Ian McNee be up for membership? again this could be my ignorance of character histories.

And, because I was so hard for "The Oath" will Doc. Strange still have a thing going with Night Nurse? I only ask because it might be good to have an "outside" opinion, someone who isn't trained to assume every threat and enemy is mystical.

I just meant in basic concept. A bunch of seemingly random characters, united only by the fact that they all have backgrounds involving magic/religion/mythology, teaming up to beat up monsters.

Why not include Blade? Just because you have one fighter doesn't mean you can't have a second. Besides that, Blade has been fighting vampires and the supernatural for over 70 years now. He has a place on teams like this.

Isn't he a foe of Strange? That would pretty much automatically exclude him.

Yes, I wanted to mention her at first, but forgot about it as I went along. The Oath is part of my inspiration for this piece. Because, y'know, The Oath rocked.

Ah, ok. Guess that's true.
