Anubis' "How would you do it?" Thread.

Sorry, had to look her up. Agreed.

Did you read my "Geek-Out" idea? name has been changed to "Geek-Out Freak-Out"

Lillian Mann... Seven-Year-Old Sorceress.

The "Protagonist" is actually her older brother. However Lillian seems to be able to make things happen. I'm not talking about hurling balls of hellfire. Ropes fray and snap. Doors blow shut. Things just seem to happen after she says her "Spells" which pretty much are simple little rhymes a seven year old would come up with. How she got her powers, I'm not really sure yet.

Mystical possession by some elder goddess from the 3rd realm maybe?

I still want her to act like a seven-year-old. and nothing Cthulhuian... I already have a hero who looks like that.

Hmm, reincarnated Altlantian sorceress then. Can't go wrong with that.

Heck, why not. and just for fun, Lillian (the reincarnated atlantean sorceress) not only can't swim yet, but is a little hydrophobic.

I was also thinking about the idea of a god being reborn into a world (kind of a classic for comics) so I decided to do instead, the rebirthing of...

Jesus Christ: Super-Hero.

Basically its Jesus who can't remember anything since he died on the cross. And him getting adjusted to the 21st century. It's not preachy or anything, but it would betray some of my religious beliefs. His super-villains would be Christian fanatics in general. as more people start believe he actually is Jesus Christ he gets on talk shows where he actually debates people. Mostly it's a bit of a laugh. inspired by parts of a couple of web-comics.

Now he wasn't always Jesus. Before that he was Harold Palmer, an RN who had family issues (Overbearing mother, wild-child younger sister, and an older brother who's about to marry a black woman (pisses off the mother)). So they have to learn to deal with the fact that the Son of God now. not to mention he helps the family... This may be crap, but again I was going for a joking look at the super-hero genre.

Geek-Out Freak-Out was my tongue in cheek look at most of the "Dark" heroes. Grace was a joke at non-powered heroes, specifically Nick Fury. and of course Lillian is a joke at Dr. Strange. This would be my "Thor"

Geek-Out
Four ordinary geeks, who wanted to do nothing more than play video games (and maybe even design a few) have had their lives turned upside down when catastrophy after catastrophy changes them.

Tony Figliola: The defacto leader of the group owing to his ability to make decisions based on reality and not desire. He has very conservative Catholic parents who don't approve of his friends (especially Emma). He finds out that he is decended from the same bloodline as the Virgin Mary. In fact he is the first male born to his bloodline since His Great(However many times) Great Aunt Mary had her son, Jesus. He finds all of this out when Lilith tried to turn him, but her mouth was burned by his holy blood. it is unknown if Lilith's bite transferred vampiric powers at this time.

Emma Walsh: Emma is the token female of the group and knows it. She Once tried dating Jake, but it went so abysmally that she swore she wouldn't date a member of the group again. Her family has money, to say the least. She's studying to be a vetrinarian and used to help her mother train dogs. When she takes Jimmy to her eccentric, but brilliant, Uncle Waldo for help, she meets one of her Uncle's experiments, A blue great dane named "Tesla". Her uncle spliced the dog to allow it to emmit massive amounts of electricity. Tesla really likes Emma, but doesn't appear to like any of the other boys to well.

Jimmy Studebaker: Jimmy rocks software. He hacks any PC games he gets to put profane "Easter Eggs" on them. Though the whole crew enjoys gaming, he is the hardcore one of the group. His and Jake's parents died less than a year ago. To cope, Jimmy threw himself in to the binary world and hasn't surfaced to grieve much. When a bomb of unknown origins goes off in Tony's apartment, Jimmy is the only one seriously injured. In panic, Emma took him to her Uncle Waldo's (not far from Tony's apartment) for help. Uncle Waldo saved Jimmy's life by replacing any organs or appendages too heavily damaged with cutting edge cybernetics. Jimmy was bummed out until Uncle Waldo informed him that there were interchangable "Attatchments", including a chain-saw and a plasma-rifle.

Jake Studebaker: Jake is the Japan-o-phile of the crew. If it is from the land of the rising sun, Jake has seen it, used it, and knows all the secrets about it. Some times his enthusiasm gets on the nerves of his friends (his brother has threated on several occasions threated to slap him for posing). After his parents deaths he got more into his art. By now though, he's back to be a big goofy kid. While hoping his brother would survive the operation, he opened Uncle Waldo's fridge and drank a brown carbonated liquid he thought was pepsi... It was a gene-resequencer specifically designed to splice any mammal with a cephlopod. Jake always thought it would be cool to be part animal, but he never thought of being part Octopus. He's re-learned to breath air, and digs the Cthulu look. When he found out he had enough telepathy to communicate and command lesser minds (like fish) he about passed out.

Drake "Uncle Waldo" Emmerson: Emma's Mother's brother. Waldo is a genius, but also a bit crazy. He recieved his share of the family money, which he parlayed into enough money to run his experiments for the rest of his life (no one knows how). Why he decided to call himself Waldo is still a mystery. He is very protective of his neice, who is the only member of his family to take him seriously. That's why, when Tesla showed a liking for her, he gave the dog to her. Waldo has no special abilities aside from his intelligence. It is apparently enough to keep Jake out of his head. He doesn't believe in religion or magic.

Lilith D'Arc: A Vampire of undetermined age, she is the one who called Tony away from his apartment on the night of the bombing. While being rather well traveled and wise, she is mostly computer illiterate. She had a thrall order her computer, but killed the thrall before the computer arrived (he tried to run away). She called Tony hoping this would all be easy to understand, when seeing how smart he was, she decided he would be a perfect start to a coven, and perhaps even a good mate. She attempted to turn him, but burnt her mouth on his holy blood. She has decided that Tony is definately her mate, whether he agrees or not, and whether he's holy or not. She has agreed not to harm any of Tony's friends, in exchange he won't kill her (which would be easy for him considering he can bless whatever he touches).

Powerful Vol II

It's summer break. Amelia has broken up with Blast Chamber, isn't speaking to her mother, and getting ready for college.

She attempts to do something productive and right and organizes a protest outside a local "Personal Harmony Clinic" where parents are checking their gay kids in to force them to be straight. While she's there the clinic comes under assault from a villain known as "The Flamer", a Militant gay-rights activist with pyro-kinesis. As the only person at the protest with experience in dealing with these she pulls out her side arm (she's carried a weapon since she was 12) and starts trying to get Flamer to focus on her rather than the people fleeing. realzing that the powers are organic and not artificial, she sets the weapon for a cryo-blast and takes aim. She'll only have enough energy in the weapon for one shot on cryo. She takes out Flamer, quipping "You're not helping the cause, Bro'." Upon realizing she quipped she rolls her eyes thinking that she sounded like her father.

This sparks a need to talk to her father about everything that's been happening. Her father tells her that He and her mother are getting a divorce, but not because he is angry or even over the affair. Artemis has realized she no longer feels attracted to men, and Icon wants to support her as she makes the transition. he also tells her about the time he cheated on Artemis. Amelia is confused by her father's refusal to hate her mother, but he simply says that he loves Artemis, even if he can't be in love with her.

One would think this would lead to a reconciliation with the mother, but that is actually inspired when Artemis and Blast Chamber are abducted by aliens. The T'Lak are a race of aliens that Artemis, Icon, and the Coalition of Heroes saved from a cosmic level disaster several years ago. Artemis, and the other heroes, were awarded titles. What they didn't realize that these titles came with responsiblities. The Aliens have heard what Artemis did (Affair with Blast Chamber). Infidelity is punishable by a life time of torture on T'Lak. (They make no disdinction between dating and marriage, so they are both charged with infidelity, and conspiracy to commit infidelity (being "the other woman")). Now Amelia must first argue for Earth's inclusion in the interstellar Alliance so that she may be recognized on T'Lak, but she must then argue on T'Lak for the release of her mother and Blast Chamber. During this, Blast Chamber and Artemis talk for the first time since their affair. BC admits to still being in love with Amelia. Artemis says that she can't forgive BC for what she did to Amelia, but neither can she forgive herself.

Aquaman continued...

Okay, so, I left off with Arthur being 16, his father dead at the hands of his "step Father", and he's been living with his mom, the Queen of Atlantis with a population that doesn't trust him because of his half breed status and the prophecy of the fall of Atlantis at the hands of said half breed.

What I want to introduce here is the concept of "The Blue". The same way that Swamp thing has "The Green" I figure Aquaman could have the Blue. It's basically the secret sea, the thing he had access too when he was made the water bearer? Yeah, that. This is the source of Atlantis' Magicks. As a descendant of the monarchy, he has direct access to the Blue. This enables teleportation through the waters of life (I.E. all water. Like how Mirror Master can pop up in mirrors? Same thing.) He can hear the seas, bend it, control it to his will. Summon forth mystical creatures of the deep. Healing, and restoration. And a bunch of other s**t I ain't thought of yet.

Due to the oddity of his birth, he possesses incredible strength both in and out of water. He also can survive on land and in the sea with out any problems. His strength enables him to run at roughly 145 mph, leap long distances, and possesses great durability. Enough to withstand small arms fire.

Now, he's spent the last six years of his life, learning his powers, exploring the seven seas, learning how to manipulate the Blue, and basically being the superhero of the deep. An urban legend to the surface world, with the occasional team up with a Superhero here and there, only to fade back into the waters of the unknown.

to be continued...

Black Sheep

Issac and Jasmin Sojurn were the world's greatest scientists, and part of the world's greatest team of adventurers. Together they had four children. Two daughters, a son, and then another daughter. The oldest is Rachel, 25, then Tanya, 22, Jacob, 18, and Angela, 15. Rachel and Tanya were tested at age 4 and proved themselves geniuses on the spot. Jacob and Angela were of average to above average intelligence. An accident when she was 9 gave Angela intelligence comperable to her sisters, as well as super-strength. At age 14 Jacob ran away from home. He was drug back several times. He was even able to manufacture enough fake ID to enlist in the army at age 15 when he ran away a second time. He was exposed when his "Uncle" Capt. Ronald Durden was walking through the barracks as a special treat to the new class. He was discharged and brought home.

At 16 he ran away again, and this time his family decided to respect his wish not to be found. He has remained lost for the last two years. Now his sisters have finally managed to hunt him down for a very specific reason. Their parents are dead and he has to inheirit his share of their multi-billion dollar industry and attend their funeral.

It's the story of four super-geniuses raised in a Fantastic Four/Johnny Quest style family now doing it for themselves. Jacob has always felt like a dissapointment to his family because of his average intelligence, but before his little sister was made a genius, he at least had Angela to commiserate with. When she gained her powers he took it as an insult and betrayl. He was very close with Angela.

Angela idolized her big brother until he started running away. She has had more difficulty than her sisters in dealing with their life style and intelligence. She's tried to continue acting normal, despite her intelligence, but fails completely.

Rachel has a serious attitude. She's smarter than not just her brother, but also most people on the planet and she knows it. Rachel has washed her hands of her younger brother, and doesn't think he deserves any of the inheritance.

Tanya is undecided on her younger brother. Due to her parents hectic lifestyles, she was always the one who was most maternal toward her brother. She knows exactly what her brother has done, the mistakes and the goals. She believes in her brother, but is rather dominated by Rachel.

The inheritance states that if they kids whant to inheirit anything, they must ALL live together for two years and make sure the company and all family interests (including a few diplomatic positions with other planets) remain strong.

HAHAHAHAAA. Harry Palmer.

The Uroumai

After traveling the stars for nearly a century, a small ship has finally found the world they have been looking for. Not only is it inhabitable, but it is inhabited by beings that are genetically and physically compatible with their own. The Uroumai Tribe has fled their world when a disease destroyed their male population. It was originally a 76 member crew that set out from their home world. As they approach Earth they have a 46 member crew. none of the original piloting crew remain.

Kahsha Rinla is the Captain of the ship. She is leader of the last of her people. They have encountered other space faring races before this one, however they were not willing to co-exist. They wished to take the Uroumai as pleasure slaves. Kahsha Rinla was one of the many they managed to kidnap before the rest of the tribe rescued them. Kahsha gave birth to a daughter a gestation period later.

Rinla Minnir is the Daughter of Kahsha Rinla. she is younger than the rest of her crew by about 50 years (leaving her at just after adolesence for her species). She is also distinguishable by her purple skin tone (the rest of them have bright red tones of skin). However she does have telekinesis just like all the other members of her tribe.

The Islanders

A terrorist attack has knocked out the power for more than half the country. Some power systems were so badly damaged they must be physically repaired. some of the worst afflicted by this are the inhabitants of Manhattan. Follow a group as they live on Manhattan for 3 years, adapting to life with technology, but without power.

Max Smitt: a courier who was in a high rise building when the power died. He's lived in New York for all of 3 months prior to "The Shut Down". Before this he lived in Los Angeles. He is an exceptionally well prepared person because of his father, who was a constant believer that the world was actively ending around them.

Ellie Whittamere: Pregnant receptionist in the same High rise Max was in at the time. She was too afraid to trek home by herself and after watching Max save a group of people from a stuck elevator, she begged him to walk her home, given she lived only a couple blocks from her. She's a life long New Yorker and if you value your life, don't ask who the father is. (Only 6 months along at the Shut Down)

Naseem Indira: grocery store owner. She's been in the country for ten years. She immigrated with her arranged fiance, Ahmed. Ahmed's dream was to own his own buisness and protect his community. Ahmed was a volunteer firefighter who died on Sept. 11th 2001. Naseem had been pregnant at the time, but miscarred on delivery. She's a legal citizen. She met the other two because they needed a place to stay on their trek across Manhatten. Naseem allowed them to stay in her store, which she'd taken to defending with a shotgun (Licensed).

Wassup guys don't have time to go over your ideas at this moment, but I will within a few days.

Okay I just read Kingdom Come (no I'm not gonna try and redo it). But it just kinda laid a lot on me. To the point where I have to get this one idea off of my head.

Once he was a great hero. Once the world was a close to Utopia as possible. However, this hero was mortal. His age ate away at his body, and no matter how well he'd mastered his powers, they taxed his heart too much. He left. in his absence thousands thought they would fill his space. His old associates went into seclusion... Now as he lay, his final few minutes passing in a nursing home, he looks upon the one person he has left to trust. a lowly nurse's aide. A young man no one expects much from is the only one who brings comfort to the dying old man.

The old man reaches out with a withered hand that once held the strength to crush diamonds to powder. he grips the boy's wrist as the young man tries to tuck him in. "In my last moments I give to you all that I have left in the world. My strength, my spirit, my legacy..." With those words the old man expires. There is no clap of thunder, no flicker of the lights. Titanus, once the greatest champion the world knew, a hero without borders, passed from the world with an aide and silence as his only companions.

The aide was saddened by the man's passing, but not shocked or startled. He'd been present for others who passed. The old man had a DNR, so he simply pressed the call button for the nurse and covered the old man's face. He left the building feeling like he had a weight on his shoulders. He'd liked the old man. He would tell stories of the glory days of super-heroes. Days when the day would stay saved for at least a month or two. But those days were long gone now. The number of people who wanted to abuse their super-human gifts was now equal to those who wanted to use them for humanity's sake.

In the coming days the young man would discover the man had passed to him power enough to move mountains. Speed enough to out run any concord. Senses to put to shame any other possesed by beast or machine. Control over heat and cold.

I don't yet know what kind of hero the guys going to be, or even what his name will be. I know the story is that the power he recieved has been passed down through the ages, growing with each generation. It is passed at death, and can only be passed moments before death. Really, that's all I have.

Secret Wars V: Time Wars

A battle has begun to rage across all time and omniverse. It has gone unknown to the Exiles for over a year now. A war for dominance of the omniverse. Consider this the ultimate Crossover Event.

The Yorkes: From a reality/Time-Line where they escaped the wrath of the Gibborim by absconding to another time/space with their daughter and the daughter's bodyguard, Cretaceous, a genetically modify deinonychus. They have a small army of soldiers from every era armed with advanced technology that view them as Gods.

Iron-Lad: From a reality where he refused to become Kang the Conqueror. He fights now against versions of his older-self. He has had breif, but gruding, alliances with the Yorkes. Recently he has taken notice of the new addition to the family: Gertrude.

Kang the Conqueror: Need we really say more. This version has been fighting on and off with Iron-Lad and the Yorkes.

Campaign for Real Time (CamTim): An organization for those who have been harmed by time-travelers and their petty wars. The roster is as follows.

Rogue and Magneto: These are the parents of the Exiles first casualty, Magnus. They have vowed to find those who are responsible for their child's death and make them pay. When they managed to tag along on one of Iron Lad's jumps they begin CamTim. Magneto is actually the calm level head. Rogue is the passionate, and often violent one, enraged by the death of her son.

Magik: Illyana Rasputin from a reality where she was never got to leave Limbo. She joined the Lenshers in their fight to stop the petty wars of the Time Travelers.

Spider-Girl: yes, MC2 Spider-Girl. This is where the whole drama first comes to our attention. Iron-Lad, temporarily allied with CamTim, is fighting Kang. She is the first Hero on the scene and accidently gets dragged along when they leave. She's the one who actually names the group "Campaign for Real Time"

From there, the battle breaks into the Panoptichron and picks up the Exiles for the first time. This is how Kang manages to shake the CamTim, as the Lensherrs attack the Exiles.

Meanwhile the Yorkes sense highly advanced armor in a time-line/reality. They move to retrieve it, but do so while sneaking "the back-door". The Yorkes, who've met themselves several times over, have an agreement that they keep an "easy access" vortex in Wisconsin. That's right ladies and gentlemen. they are surprised by the resistance of the GLI. Not to mention they head to LA thinking the technology is there, only to find the Runaways waiting for them.

Finally tracking them to where they went CamTim, the Exiles, and Iron-Lad burst in as well.

Addition to SWV:TW, CamTim was not started by the Lensherr's. It was started by Nathaniel Richards.

Expantion for "Lillian Mann: Seven-Year-Old Sorceress

Rich and Lillian are brother and sister, separated by almost twenty years. Their parents have been deceased over a year now and Rich and Lillian are not having the best time getting along. Rich is a police officer trying to advance to detective. in his frustration he dismisses Lillian when she brings him an ornate box. She takes it back to her room and the carving of a snake on top begins to speak to her.

Lillian has found, buried in the local dump, the object that inspired the legends of Pandora's box and the Garden of Eden. This object contains demons of many different varieties, most of them immaterial, but millions of demons in there means that there are enough tangible demons to give the city a scare. Just as in the story of Pandora's box the last object to emerge from the box is not a demon or an ill... it's hope. In this case, magical abilities. Lillian, the one who opened the box, is charged with filling it back up and resealing it, and so she has been granted the power to do so.
