The fact that he thinks Sam and Yorick are anything alike is a good indication he didn't have the understanding necessary for the role.

Anton? Yeah, that could be pretty awesome actually.

What the heck is LaBeouf talking about? You could boil any character down to those basic outlines.

Maybe he wants to get away from those types of roles like in TF and do different type of film.

Isn't it funny, I had a dream about the Y the last man casting just two days hence.

Anyway, I agree, Shia was never a perfect fit for the role. I'm not even sure if the director is right for the film but we'll see. I'm so glad to see Y:The last man mentioned again in these forums!

Whoever suggested Yelchin as Yorick deserves a gold star. What clever casting! There is a film I would see. Plus Yelchin has real star power so the film won't suffer too

:cwink:

i feel he is perfect for it since the story should have him start off as an immature young kid and by the end he should of become a man

levi is almost 30 and seeing how this film probably wont be gong anytime soon he would be a bit old wouldn't he

Yea and if the film does happen in say next 2-3 yrs yelchin is still in prime age he is only what 21 i believe.

Absolutely, thank you Zeus for not allowing this guy to end up as Yorick.

*blows on the trumpets of victory as loud as possible*

not as good as yelchin but Michael Angarano wouldn't be a bad yorrick

he is only 21

still like yelchin but just another option they can go with

how about we cast Zoey Saldana as agent 355 have her an Anton re team from star trek for Y:cwink:

I really love that Brian K Vaughan and Carl Ellsworth are the ones writing this film but I don't much agree with D.J Caruso. Does anyone have any other suggestions for who could direct a Y the last man film?

So...just read UNMANNED for the first time ever. This is fantastic stuff. Has there been any word on which storylines they'd adapt, or are they looking at this as a franchise?

The plan was for a standalone movie that could start a trilogy in which to tell the whole story.

I was just reading that on moviehole.net site. Though in the end he could likely still drop out of it.

As much as I like Shia I think he needs to take a break. He's got Sam and Mutt, he can rest for awhile. Not every role ever made needs to be "NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!"

yeah he wants to take a break for that type of character aswell he has been playing the normal kid who gets put in extraordinary circumstances for a bit now TF/TF2/EE/Disturbia/etc.

****ing genius, really. He has talent, best part of the miserable Terminator Salvation too. Plus he was fun in Charlie Bartlett. He would fit Yorick's character seamlessly.

I still wouldn't mind Shia at all, but the fact he thinks Sam and Yorick are the same character is terrifying.

Wow, Shia really doesn't get it. I hope he never plays Yorick.

^ what is wrong with you guys you dont get it at all shia loves the comic has read it what more can you ****ing want of an actor.

also show me where he says sam is exactly like yorrick in every form because he doesn't. Last time i checked shia said they are similar in he is a normal everyday kid who gets put in an extraordinary situation. That does happen to yorrick he is an everyday kid in college with a girlfriend a mother and a sister but gets put an a crazy situation of being the last man on earth.Just like Sam is an everyday kid in school with ambitions but gets put in a crazy situation in between a war with the auto bots having to live among transformers .As well as in eagle eye him being an average guy with a job and family and gets put in crazy situation with a machine telling him to do stuff or he will be killed.

so Shia is not lying you people just are not listening to what he is saying

Someone who doesn't believe Yorick is like Sam Witwicky.

I just finished this. What the hell happened at the end? Was he just unable to think of a suitable ending?
