ARC LIGHT: The Official Character Discussion Thread

Oh come on! Grow up already! Everyone has moved on from making fun of her looks. Geez.

Hey, hey! Don't be hatin... didn't know.

I think she'll be great in this movie.

I just don't understand why she's a model. But anyways...

Models nowadays, have grown from being typical gorgeous, to being oddly unique looking girls. I learned this the moment Omahyra was cast.

I always thought a model would be someone who makes you believe that if you buy the product they're selling, you'll look like them.

Yeah, I'm all for not seeing 90-lb goddess-esque supermodels (I mean really, WHO needs to see THAT? ;)) but... *sigh*

If I were a woman, I wouldn't want to buy what she's wearing because I wouldn't want to look like her. I'd rather look like Heidi.

But I'm not, so I'll settle for looking AT Heidi. :)

Makes a good contrast for the character...

They have alot of good looking mutants, both on the good and bad sides...Most of the bad and/or good mutants seen so far that aren't traditionally "beautiful" seem to have abnormalities (Beast, Mystique,..etc). I think it not only diversifies the abilities and powers, but showing a few more mutants with exotic facial features, body types, and ethnicities only broadens the visual range and actually creates more of the feel that the original comics used to have when indvidualized costumes and body shapes were taken with more seriousness...

Since obviously, the comic costumes themselves can't always be translated into the real-world to diversfy and indvidualize characters, this among other things is what is used to create that similar effect...

This gives X3 a different feel to the all American X1 & 2

Yep...A black Trask, a Quills of Asian descent...All within very good reason and it just works within the context (and out I guess)...

She has a very distinct facial fierceness that makes her look like a badass chica. (Not a bad thing mind you.)

Definitely ... and as much crap people talk about her pertaining to her looks ,you best believe those unqiue looks get her a lot of movie. I know a lot people who know who she is, just by saying unique and saying that 'unusual' name, they know EXACTLY who I'm talking about. The girl is getting paid.

Maybe if she takes the cure she then becomes hot, since her power is being ugly.

Just spreadin' the word...

If you have any questions about models just ask me.. I'm the model expert.lol. Like Tyra says referring to a different model, but same deal:She doesn't have the beauty the general public would understand, but she has model look. If you look at models today, they are unique but b-e-a-utiful.

She looks totally different in real-life, saw her at the lucas lucas show at London fashion week last month. She does have a unique look about her, but the cameras really don't do her justice. She has a very mean walk on the catwalk and you can tell the difference immediatly from Kate Moss and all the Brazilian Barbie Bimbos.

But apparantly rumour has it that she was a total diva at one of the after show parties at China Whites, demanding one of the waiters to give her a foot massage.

Could she be the Dominican answer to Naomi Campbell? I shudder to think.

Somebody actually thought Mota was Avalanche on IMDB.
Ouch!

I always imagine movie Avalanche would be one of the best looking of the mutants. Wishful thinking perhaps.

I wonder what she's doing in that scene, I know she creates a shockwave, but why? Notice Magneto and Pyro are looking down at something.

My guess is they're up on the bridge and she's breaking something apart down below. Something that Magneto can't, therefore non-metallic.

Yeah...She can create shockwaves through anything...Unlike Avalanche, who could only create organic seismic tremors, pretty much just earthquakes on the most part...

I haven't seen her powers on display on the comic page, but Arclight seems like she could create the kind of directional shockwave that could hit anything she wanted, whether it was a building, just a person, a helicopter, or anything else...

I still say she should have been Callisto. Give her the eye patch, and you're there.

Wasn't hit hinted in the comics that before callisto lost her eye and joined the morlocks that she was an international supermodel?
