Are the following D.C. books worth reading ?

Catwoman should be added to this list.

Booster Gold is pretty good.

You like Catwoman? I've been reading it, but I always come away from each issue feeling like it was a waste of time. I think the only reasons I'm still reading it are that I'm too lazy to take it off my pull list and it's part of the ever-shrinking pool of comics that actually come out on time consistently.

The only worth while DC books are AllStar Supes, JSA, Blue Beetle, and GL/GL Corps thats about it.
And All-New Atom, and the Search for Ray Palmer one-shots, Infinity Inc., Jonah Hex, Metamorpho Year One, and the Bat-books, Batman and the Outsiders, Black Adam, GA/BC, Salvation Run, Simon Dark, Superman/Batman, Teen Titans, Suicide Squad, BoP, Brave and the Bold, Checkmate, Flash, The Spirit, 4 Horsemen, Booster Gold, Lord Havok & the Extremists, Death of the New Gods (say what you want about the concept but it's being done well), and Legion of Superheroes. Other than that, though, yeah, DC's **** these days.

I've always found it, if nothing else, to be a really solid read with a compelling lead character, who's much more interesting than Batman. He's just this one note architype like 95 percent of the time. It might just come down to her resonating with me, and I loved the baby stuff and call a pox upon DC for writting her out. It's not the best book ever or anything, but it gets my dollar ever month over a lot of other books. It's nice to have a book about a girl dealling with some girl stuff, y'know.

I would've liked to see more baby stuff, myself. I thought it was a really cheap copout to just have Zatanna spirit the baby away.

Booster Gold is great, and Shadowpact is alright, I think it's worth checking out because Detective Chimp is awesome.

I just read Simon Dark and thought it was great, but I'm curious as to why it's set in Gotham and not in some new town. I hope there's a reason for this. Need to to pick up #2.

Sometimes the people of the DC universe call Gotham New York. Remember that time Nightwing "moved" to New York? Yeah, he moved across town to the other side of Gotham. It's just a quirk DC people have.

Apparently everyone hates hyperbole. A disproportionate amount of stuff in DC's comics is set in Gotham City. Happy?

Why disproportionate if it's the main city? Surely you would expect more......:cwink:
Metropolis could arguably be considered the "main city" of the DC universe. It houses its first and biggest hero.

But from a storytelling standpoint, I guess it does make sense for villains to be attracted to Gotham, since it's supposedly corrupt as all hell, and Batman's only so much of a deterrent.
