PS: I know this is off topic, but speaking as someone who would never visit the Christianity thread, and would likely disagree with about 90% of what is discussed there, I think there is value to having such a forum where like-minded Hype members can discuss their shared faith in a respectful manner. I imagine things got out of control there today among maybe one or three individuals, but if that has passed I would think the mods could reconsider their decision to close that thread permanently.

When I read posts like "They get away with it" I keep wondering if the mod section is visible, because if you can't see it then you can't see the infraction forum where there are plenty of Christian bashing infractions.

Looking at the thread that is closed I can see the difficulty, there was even a heated argument over who was the better Christian, it's not just a case of faith but how you approach your faith as relates to certain aspects.

Harvests posts don't get deleted and he gets banned,but The End's get deleted and he doesn't get banned.

How do you know he didn't harass mods via PM? If I recall correctly, that's what got Peace Warrior banned.

This place is ostensibly about superheroes and related franchises but I do see a lot of people act like they should have some (literal) God-given right to say what they want, how they want to and without anyone denying or contradicting their "right" to be offensive. Those who take their religious beliefs too far act as if their rights were somehow being revoked on a message board about superheroes who sometimes literally are powered by hell.

@HT It's not an attempt to put a spin on anything (curious why you think I would want to?), but a reflection that mods do delete posts when they are inappropriate. I have a few infraction-scars myself, and have seen this happen.

I've noticed that, too. It was the one thing about Peace Warrior that really grinded my gears. He never posted anywhere other than the community section, so it made me wonder why he was even here.

But then he started posting about his religion, and it all became very clear what he was really on this forum to do.

A banning can be instant depending on the severity of what someone posts, in the view of the Hype the comments he made were well beyond offensive so he was banned.

it's very easy to not get banned on the hype. i've managed to stay here 10 years and counting lol

just know:

1) there's over 30,000 members here. chances are, not all of them are going to agree with you, and you're not always going to agree with them. BUT they have just as much right to their opinion as you do yours

2) never post porn (ok this is the easiest)

3) when you have a difference of opinion, discuss it civilly. neither of you may budge on your viewpoints, but if you have to resort to name calling and putting the person down, then that doesn't give your argument a stronger leg to lean on at all

4) to be continued as needed...
