Question why would a Proban feel the need to make a dummy account just so they could post here and not just wait it out until they are not banned anymore?

Typical....we ban someone...everybody shouts Nazi fascist Draconian regime....we give someone probation...everyone shouts we are too lenient and should have banned him.....Hey, I'm not the one who's letting SentinelMind back on this forum under a new name.

The rule has been in place and enforced for about 7 years if memory serves me.The list of people it has been applied to is too long to recite off the top of my head. Go back through this thread, I'm sure it has been talked about plenty of times because it happens to someone every few months. What other posters has this happened with before? I was under the impression you try to post under another name while on a pro-ban and that was it; IP perma-ban. I'm sure other people have gotten permanent banishment for that. I'm not trying to argue, but I would like to know if this rule has been applied other times. Do only some posters get to come back with new names in this sort of event, or is this an across-the-board rule that applies to everyone?
Well stop doing stuff and we'll complain about that.![]()
I used to find it strange, but geeks like to talk so there you go.

You're on probation and post under another name...original gets banned and new one gets a longer probation than original name was on......and 50% of these guys create a 3rd name and get all names permabanned. It's a story as old as time.
The rule makes sense to me, actually, and I'm sure Persistence will soon be banned, anyway.![]()
SentinelMind was here for 10 years before his account was perma-banned. He might go another 10 years as Persistence without getting banned again.
I have been here for 9 years myself, and don't have any recollection of him prior to a year or so ago. Could it be that he has become more ban-worthy?
It's a bit unfair to talk crap banned forum members, they can't defend themselves.

Dem the breaks. It's a bit unfair to talk crap banned forum members, they can't defend themselves.
They shouldn't have done foolish things to get themselves banned in the first place.
When you do something ban-worthy you lose the right to defend yourself. It's a bit unfair to talk crap banned forum members, they can't defend themselves.
I didn't take any notice of him until the Jesus Thread opened. Before that he just kind of blended into the crowd and I don't remember him being so religious either, but I guess he just didn't talk about that part of his life until the Jesus thread or maybe he did and I just didn't notice.
