Are there certain kinds of Fanboys that annoy you? - Part 1

I dislike fanboys repeating this nonsense about Batman

I don't have memorabilia, and hardly own comics (in physical form :o)

You mean when some people say that batman could beat anyone with enough prep time? Yeah that is a bit much. He is probably one of the best hand to hand fully human fighters in the DC universe, and he has been known to hold his own against some seriously powerful adversaries, but even then he admitted his limitations.

This was not easy to admit, being a self proclaimed bat fanboy.

I think part of that is the fault of some writers. They can have him be beaten up, tortured, and on the brink of death, but at the end he's always had some type of contingency or "I WANTED you to do that" type of thing going.

The thing with Batman always makes me laugh. The funniest is seeing fanboys come up with excuses as to how and why he could beat Superman. No, Superman would turn Batman into a red smear on the wall before he could even process a single thought. But comics would be boring if all fights were like that :D

I love that Kevin Smith went back and humanized some of Batman's key events of awesomeness. He pissed himself when he confronted the Falconies. He threw up in his mouth when he knocked Guy Gardner out. He pooped himself when he took down those White Martians.

Makes sense......also it's hilarious. :awesome:

those fanboys who say Watchmen is the bible and as such shouldn't have prequels, and that it's the best comic ever etc,, and yet, they only read 7 or 8 comics in their life.

Also, those who know better than the writer how the story should have ended.

Those who always say "in nolan we trust", without bringin any arguments. I love all his movies, but he's not bigger than Batman, and he's not the only great director on this planet.

the fanboys who won't even admit both arkham games were great, but their stories were not.

Watchmen is no doubt amazing. But it's not even the best satire/deconstruction of superheroes. Ellis' Authority is :o

I remember a few years ago some kid was trying to tell me that batman could beat Galactus if he had enough prep time.

Okay, maybe if Galactus was starving to death, Batman had the infinity gauntlet, a motherbox, Dr. Doom's time machine, A GL ring, and didn't mind using a few stray A Bombs, then yes he might not get his ass royally kicked. But thats a lot of "ifs"

Watchmen is great. I love it. But I think it's vastly overrated. same goes for the dark knight returns and batman year one.

Well, I knew it was one of those. He only did two.

I once met this Batman fan who saw TDK in the cinema 27 times. So, if he was telling the truth, which i imagine he was because who would lie about going to see a Batman film 27 times, he spent like, £270 just on the tickets. Then you figure in an extra £5 at least for food or drink.

That's like, £400 just on trips to the cinema. WTF? You could actually get a bonafide porn star for an hour for that money. Madness.

Overrated like the Mona Lisa? It's universally loved and it's a masterpiece but it's no Starry Night?

Or...

Overrated like Batman Begins? Ok flick but fanboys elevate it to monumental status because of fervor and lack of hindsight?

:batman: :batman: :batman:

I hate the fanboys of Winding Refn as well, because they won't admit he sucks! (just kidding)

so you're one of those guys... those guys who think there is such thing as objectivity in art? It's so sad....

Fanboys who refuses to watch Batman & Robin because they lack the ability to laugh at and with things.

Fanboys who loathes Batman forever and can't admit it has some great moments and it's way darker than batman and robin (and the deleted scenes are great).

Its like watching any really bad movie, you just have to see it for what it is.
It does have an Ed Wood/MST3K quality to it doesn't it.

Batman Forever does have some truly great moments. Anyone who denies this is an immature silly billy who smells of poo!

I'll say that Batman Forever is my least favorite Batman film only because it wasn't sure what it wanted to be, a dark haunting Batman story about young Bruce Wanye or a campy fun film like Batman & Robin. I dug both parts separately but it didn't mix well together.

Pretty much, I see it more as it being in the same vein as Adam West's Batman.

Not a fanboy of the Bat, but I think Batman Begins is a great movie

The only movie in that franchise I can not watch without face cringes is Batman Returns
