In terms of other pop stars, I'll name them for you, Taylor Swift right? She's so manufactured if it turns out she's entirely CGI, I wouldn't be the least surprised.

A lot of it has to do with a terrible break up I went through... four years back, five? It destroyed me, but I had to pick myself off the ground, get up on my own two feet, thrust my hand into my defiant chest, tear out my own heart and throw it at my aggressor, saying "Free from bondage!" So it's just weird to me to see a mother of one who has been in a relationship since 2011 still making money off break up music.

I agree with the Marvel/DC analogy though. The weird thing is I don't get those who think it should be one or the other and not be greatful that the variety exists. I'm a DC guy through and through, and there's a couple of Marvel films I can't stand because they're flat out (Unfunny) comedies, but I'd be crazy if I complained about stuff like TFA & Winter Soldier, IM & IM3, GotG, Ant-Man etc.

Well I wasn't gonna name names, but I'll say I wasn't just referring to ONE other pop star. And for the record, from what I've read that song "Hello" is actually about Adele's estranged Dad, not her old break-up that 21 was about. But either way, no one wants to hear Adele sing about how awesome her life is now.

And yes, I'm glad DC and Marvel have totally different styles and tones. My favorite character is DC and my favorite CBM's of all-time are TDK and Avengers, which couldn't be on further ends of the tonal spectrum. Superhero fans are living in an embarrassment of riches right now, the golden age of the genre, so it always saddens me a little to see them "celebrate" it by being constantly at each others' throats fighting over which is better and putting others down. Just bask, y'all.

i don't know a lot of her songs, but she has this tone that does kinda sound like she's completely bored while she sings. i can't explain it. the only song of hers i really like is Never Let Me Go. if i recall, a former hype member recommended it to me.

i don't get it either, but i guess i can respect it.
there's quite a few artists out there who i don't think sing good at all, but do have some good songs. one example being Rihanna. i don't particularly like her voice, but i do like a pretty good amount of her songs.

and then there are some who i think are amazing, who get no recognition or anything. like Lady Gaga i think is super talented, but i hate her theatrics and the craziness. she's talented enough to where she doesn't do that, but when she strips it all down and releases less showy stuff, she doesn't get the audience she deserves.

Speechless is an amazing song and no matter how much she tried, it just wouldn't take off. if i recall, that song was about her dad? i don't remember

Well they feel they have a monopoly, and right now... They sort of do. Even the FOX films are still Marvel characters, and as we see with DoFP/Apocalypse/Deadpool, they are starting to take cues from Marvel films to keep up.

Still... I think the pretentious Marvel fans will be in for a surprise when the DCEU hits in full force. Right now, the Marvel Head nerds feel that the culture at wide is validating them. What happens if BvS does A1 numbers and WW and SS do GotG numbers?
