Arnold Is Back for Terminator 5 - Part 1

He can do it. I'd like to see someone try. Especially if he does a Tyrion-esque take on it.

Go back and watch SCC, it was a mixed bag. Some episodes were really good and some were rather poor. I think they went off the rails too much.

What I saw of SCC was mostly boring, the detective angle and budget restrictions really hurt it. I also was never a huge fan of Hedley performance as Sarah Connor.

At least SCC didn't bastardize the franchise and negate the entire point of Cameron's films. Also, Summer Glau is awesome, enough said.

Eh, a 12 episode show on HBO or Showtime would have been something worthwhile but the constraints of network television harmed the show too much in my opinion. Granted I didn't watch nearly all of the episodes but that was the impression I got. It wasn't terrible but it could have been much better. That's how I'd sum up the last two films as well.

I love the Terminator world but I honestly don't see this new film turning out special. I'm probably going to see it for nostalgia reasons but I'm not expecting anything.

I'll settle for a good movie at this point.

^Same here, the franchise needs to get back on track as one more slip-up will signal the end of it for a while IMO.

Just give us a good movie and then go from there. I'm not thrilled its a re-boot, I dont think the franchise needs one, but we will see how it turns out.

To clarify, I am not expecting anything special or good. Someone had the chance to make the war movie everyone wanted to see and decided to not take it because they had franchise on the brain. I don't trust anybody not named James Cameron to guide this franchise to a touchdown. Terminator Salvation was the last straw for me and made me realize that nobody but Cameron truly gets Terminator.

Remaking Terminator is ******ed but I'd perfer they do that and ruin their own series because Cameron's has been screwed with enough.

^The real shame is that other franchises have had different directors on board and been able to continue making good movies, yet only Cameron seems to get Terminator. I just dont get it.

Thats not a go at Cameron BTW, he is my favourite director, but surely someone else out there can make a good Terminator movie?

Well I would disagree that others don't' get Terminator due to the fact we had two lackluster directors. That's hardly enough of a pool to say "no creative talent can do as well or out do Cameron" Honestly I would not want Cameron anywhere near this anymore because I don't think he would handle like he used to. He's not the same James Cameron I used to love.

I think there are tons of creatives out there that could touchdown it, but the hopes are they will get the right team together.

Terminator Salvation was directed by McG, it was always going to suck (although I liked Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin's performances). Give Terminator to someone like Duncan Jones, or David Fincher, or Christopher Nolan and we could have a great movie on our hands.

Well I just cant understand why getting the right team together is so hard either. From the start I didnt like McG directing the 4th movie, but Mostow had potential back then, and while I like T3 to a degree, its not a patch on the 1st 2.

Plus I dont think Cameron has changed that much personally, Avatar still had a lot of the old Cameron traits, especially in regards to characterisation and action.

I'd recommend watching it all. I thought the same thing until season 2 startd picking things up a good bit. Only when it got fantastic, they ended the series. It was a real shame because it showed potential and showed it was improving a great deal between seasons. It's fantastic for what it is and much better than the completly pointless T3 IMO.

Well c'mon, it's premature and unfair to say that no other director can handle Terminator because two mediocre directors couldn't.

BREAKING: NEBRASKA moves from 11/22 to 11/15 ltd. TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION opens June 27, 2014. TERMINATOR moves from 6/26/15 to 7/1.

I'm enough of a Terminator fan to be automatically interested and see this in the cinema no matter what really. But yeah; after T3 and TS, it's getting harder to muster up any excitement.

The idea that ONLY James Cameron can make a good Terminator film strikes me as rather silly. For example, if someone like Rupert Wyatt, or Duncan Jones, or even Christopher Nolan were to direct this, the chances are it would be at least good imo. It all depends on who directs, who writes the script, and who's cast in what parts, this isn't an automatic fail.

the question is very simple. how can you f.. up a terminator war movie set in the future?
i get T3 since it was only some yeas after T2. but a a terminator movie in the future with an old Connor? with Bale? and you f.. up? how? hooooooooooow?
