For a while there I thought you could only fight the fleet missions with the fire barrels. Since that got solved by just letting it play itself I'm finally getting the hang of the fleet.

I've done all the underwater missions I have found so far and I have got the upgrades for my broadside cannons, ram and hull. My ship is a beast now. Only the Legendary ships pose a problem and that's just a matter of adjusting my tactics to fight them. The upgrade I'd like to get is for my harpoon. I just need to find those other upgrades and get together some materials and money and I'll have it totally upgraded.

I think the fully upgraded harpoon is a waste. Iv never had issues using the advanced.

It's one of the hacking mini games outside the animus. Red lines you have to cross with your blue orb.

Here's a tip for anyone having trouble. If you notice sometimes the orb can actually ride out the spot you move it to. It will just go to the bottom and reappear at the top. So once I learned this it made it so much easier. I didn't have to rush my move to the next line. I could take my time.


Another thing is about treasure maps. You can find some by talking to a bartender at a tavern you unlock. you have to discover some so they might not appear on your world map. After you find one talk to the bartender. He gives you the location of a map. Which is usually in the area of another bar.

The most tense part of the game has to be the swimming missions. Just you, little air pockets and several sharks.

So how in the hell do you get the animus fragment at the Prins Manor in Kingston? It's just out of reach atop a chimney. I can't get it even while at the very top.

I'm on key 4/5 now.

I love my new cannons. I obliterate the smaller craft and everything medium and up to legendary is easy.

Where is the tavern in Kingston? Does it unlock in a story mission, because the icon isn't on my map.

im in 90%, i only need the rest of the unchatred stuff and the some of the main mission constants, am i the only one who thinks that thinks the story gets more underwhealming with each game?
and what do you unlock when you hack every computer?

I liked the story in this. I found it was better than III. Of course I found III the worst of them all.

I really liked the story in this game. Love all the real pirates. My Jackdaw is fully upgraded and the legendary ships are still a bit of a pain. Usually it's my fault

I'm still missing a bunch of the unlockable upgrades. No idea where to find them. I checked all the underwater maps I have. I assume I'm missing a few then?

It's an indoor tavern (a rarity), but you still have to brawl pirates to unlock it, like any other tavern. The brawl takes place outside the tavern's front door.

Is the whaling something thats necessary a lot in the game?

For crafting, yes. A lot of craft items require shark and whale skins.

Well the pertinent question would then be is crafting necessary?

I grew up watching a lot of star trek 4 you see.

Yeah the crafting is great but the hunting isnt neccessary

Later in the game the hunting/whaling might not be necessary but early it is. I mean those whale skins aren't cheap and when you are trying to save up every penny to upgrade your ship, its deff best to get the skins yourself.

White whale skin is worth 4000. So you can don your whaling suit and go searching for the white whale.

I wish you could rename your ships. I would give them terrible names. The schooners would be named Titanic or Lusitania and my big ones would be named Iceberg or U-Boat.

i wish you could call backup like in the previous games. instead of assassin's to help you, ships would sail in and attack.

How much have you upgraded your ship? I'm most of the way done and I don't need backup unless I'm facing 6+ medium ships or bigger. Even then If I can take one and board it, I can heal the ship, take the next, and keep it going until it's done.
