Audiences reactions to FF2 teaser trailer!

AHHHHH and it begins: The typical SHH bashing of anyone who doesn't like a trailer, movie, or something else....

It's so nauseating. Why can't someone just not like what they saw? I could understand if it was a MOVIE and there was some objective parameters to discuss. But its a MOVIE TRAILER and thus, its impact is largely....dependent upon the viewer. Also, F4 left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. Fox has its job cut out for it.

I was responsible for posting this community link because I thought it would be interesting to get "non-fanboy" reactions to this trailer. :\

I agree that FOX certainly has it's job cut out for themsevles. The trailer looks pretty good but as someone mentioned above it's more like a glorified clip. I watched the Ghost Rider trailer with Rocky yesterday and wow! That really surprised me.

I am a Superman fan and can say without a doubt that Silver Surfer is more powerful. A hell of a lot more powerful.

Cool ok thanks. Bu the's not really a bad guy either right? He's just getting used by Galactus to find Planets, from what i'm gathering? Even so, looks like the chase scene is gonna be sick, and even in the trailer the Torch was having difficulty trying to catch him. This is the kinda scene i wanted to see in Superman, I think it's time we see some epic battles with superhero's. Not those 2-3 minute knock around fights I'm talking leveling city block type fights where see them actually go for it?

The people posting on that forum are idiots. One guy even claims that his theater booed the trailer. Yeah, RIGHT. Audience indifference or an isolated jeer I'd believe, but booing? It's obvious the guy who wrote that was lying just to give weight to his bashing.

And yes, it's apparent to many just from viewing this trailer that a real effort is being made to greatly improve on FF1. The same way it was apparent to many just from viewing the Catwoman trailer that unprecedented suckage awaited them.

Of course people are free to not like what they see.
But they're also free to be biased and snarky for the sheer hell of it, and that, in my opinion, typifies most of the relatively few negative comments I've read on the matter.

I've now seen this trailer with 6 different audiences; hundreds of people.
And though one audience was practically silent (just as they were for the Spidey 3 trailer) the other audiences' reactions ranged from hushed surprise and excited murmers to shouts of "cool!" "Yeah!" and "All right!!"

This trailer is a big hit.
That seems to be what's troubling some people; not the trailer itself.

Basically trailer starts with a Light speed flash from space to earth,

then we have a shot of the wedding and everyone is in tuxes (on top of building) and so is the thing..lol...but then everyone looks up as a sonic boom type noise hits and you can see something entering the atmosphere,

next shot is Reeds looking at Torch and telling to him to go...so he jumps off the building "flame on"

have about 5 seconds of torch winding through the city heading in the direction of the streak that the surfer came down in...as he catches up you cant actually make out the surfer yet but you know its him but he's heading straight for a building...Torch flies around it and waits around the other side...

shot of the building as Silver Surfer comes right through it in his slow motion entrance shot, its done so slickly and he looks awesome...you can see the material of the building that has been transmuted behind him ripple gently like water...

Torch is looking in awe...and is like "thats is completely..." but can't finish because he zooms right past him..

then the chase continues at light speed for about 30 secs, down a building, then down a high street, through a tunnel, in the tunnel the Surfer again goes swiftly through a bus and you can see the glass at the back of the bus gently ripple back into its original form....Torch still chasing has difficulty...Silver Surfer then effortlessly leans forward and then i think through his board so hes Standin upside down on it looking back at Torch to see if he's still following then reverses the move so he back in original position (crazy) and then eventually they get outta the tunnel and are cruising over a river or the sea or something as Torch struggles to catch up Silver Surfer just turns around and has a looks again like he doesnt have time for this so he stops instantly grabbing Torch by the neck and they soar up into the clouds...blackout...another shot getting higher...another blackout...then in Space and Torch seems to have been extinguished...Surfer releases his body throwing it back down to earth...as he slides around the shot and out end of trailer....

Its a lot darker and the music is very High Octane...beautifully done and i really much prefer it to the 1st movie already.

Saw NATM last night, and the FF trailer was there as well, I liked it. The Surfer CGI looks pretty good, but wow, they still haven't put up a link for the trailer online? Fox really are a bunch of *****ebags.

Agreed. Trailers can be decieving, but they also give a glimpse as to what to expect as well. And that's what the real issue is here...people were expecting a lame trailer based on their opinion of the first film. Now that a teaser that harkens to the aesthetic quality of the Spider-Man films has been delivered--and by "his Hackness" Tim Story at that----some appear to be grasping for gripes.

It's predictable behavior.

i hope the movie is excellent. i really do. i think the movie would be amazing if it was done in the style of a japanese horror flic! I mean... like PULSE or something!

The mass suicides that Gal-lak-tus brought on in the ULTIMATE STORY LINE.. was simply brillant! And they have the ability... plus the surfer has never been cooler than he was in that book. But for now... i have high hopes. From day one i thought that the X3 trailer looked like a pile of crap! Especially when the SENTINEL HEAD CLIP was released!!!! This has a much better starting off (IMO) from the get go!

The surfer was cool, but Ultiamate Galactus sucked, but I still suspect that those were drones he sent forth and the real galactus is going to show up. They defeated him far to easy.

This is, ultimately, a family-friendly action franchise. Galactus is scary, and the population should be scared, but mass suicides? Not gonna happen. Too dark.

I think (or at least hope) that they learned from their mistake with Doom that completely raping the comic version of a classic character is not usually a good idea.

Um, dude? I wasn't bashing them because of that - I was bashing them because the members of that community ARE idiots.
