The Incredible Hulk Theatrical Trailer Reaction Thread

Well the general audience won't know that.

-TNC

Indeed, I feel the lack of clarification to the general public that this is not Lee's Hulk or a sequel to it, is going to butcher it's chances at the Box Office.

I dont think anyone cares, given the reaction I heard.

Hulk Smash= Butt's in seats June 13th.

People Don't really react that much in my theaters to trailers....

although when the old (TV) music was played at the very end...I heard a couple people say something about it being classic...or classy

weird I know

I agree. People are gonna watch the trailer and realize, unlike the first one, this Hulk is action-packed, and stars two famous critically-acclaimed actors as both the hero and villain, not to mention that Hulk actually looks intimidating now. They won't care whether it's a sequel or reboot as long as it's good. What really makes a movie is word of mouth. If the film winds up being as good as Iron Man it's gonna be a hit.

Regarding new Hulk being more intimdating than old Hulk: A friend took his kids to Iron Man and he said the trailer frightened them. He also saw the Hulk trailer in front of Sarah Marshall and said it scared his wife too.

I saw IM Thursday. TIH's trailer got a mixed reaction. Half the crowd seemed excited, particularly after the "Sparta-kick" on Blonsky.

Like I said in another thread, people in my theater reacted positively to the trailer, which surprised me. If the flick is good I think people will go to see it.

I don't see how they are marketing this movie with these day time CGI shots... focus on the characterization. Expand a little on the background and motives... for the action rely on the night time shots. Its the confusion factor and the effects that may derail this film... luckily Sandler's comedy probably won't have legs... and there really is no competition until Hancock opens up. Everyone already knows M. Night is done as much as it pains me to say... I was a big fan... seems like his next big project was influenced too heavily by the studio... Hulk should be able to dominate June.

FaT tONie, the trailer it's doing it's job. When I heard people shout out after the Sparta-kick, I felt relaxed that if this movie does throw in heavy promotion, it will be fine.

Arm-chair critics be damned...

The trailer showed with my friend's showing at another theatre. He tells me there wasn't much of a reaction for any of the trailers shown. Hulk had a couple whispers after it was shown. Apparently Hulk and Indie got the bigger reactions.

I bought my ticket to see the trailer along with a sold out crowd. We all clapped and whooped about the trailer. But we were in for a surprise treat. They actually attached a movie called Iron Man to the trailer. They showed it right after the end of TIH trailer. That is what I call getting your moneys worth.

People seemed stoked by the Hulk trailer.

No one seemed to know what it was at first. When Banner transforms into Hulk, people started talking, and one kid screamed "He's my favorite!!!". It was nice ^_^

Yeah, it shows that the movie has a tighter pace and it has to, while still taking the premise of the character seriously, not turning it into a campfest.

yeah same here,at first when the Universal sign can i couldnt help but smile:woot:,then when he transformed a couple of people were "oh s**t it the Hulk, there were a lot of "damns," and "oh damns!!".positive reaction.Like everyone else here is saying the biggest reaction was the spartan kick a lot of people were laughing a couple clapped, but at the end when hulk rips the car and roars, there were alot of ohh sweet comments, and when it was done a lot of the crowd were chatting amongs themselves.
cant wait:bh:

Well everyone clapped for all the trailers at my theater, but everyone erupted with laughter when the Hulk gave ol' Blonsky the "This is Sparta!" kick to the chest! (Also, i heard a lot of people ask, "What did he just say??" Referring to Blonsky saying, "Is that it? Is that the best you got?" before the kick. Overall, the reaction was very positive! A lot of chatter after the trailer ended, which was good.

Heard ppl whispering "That's the Hulk" when Banner was cornered in the bridge. Trailer looked even better on the big screen.

I GOT SOME COOL REACTIONS FROM MY FIRST VIEWING OF IM, PEOPLE CHEERED, CLAPPED, AND LAUGHED IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE TIH TRAILER, A REALLY POSITIVE RESPONSE, IT WAS GREAT!!!:D:up:

Caught this with Iron Man. First there were muffled giggles, then outright laughs, then loud boos, then shouted obscenities, then they were throwing stuff at tthe screen, and then half of them walked out before the movie started muttering stuff like, "The Incredible Hulk looks sooooo stuoid..." and "...screw Louis Letterier and Ed Norton they have stupid faces and I hate them!" Not good, Hulk fans, not good at all.

Actually, that didn't happen. But they showed the Dark Knight trailer too. And another one, but I forget which.

People kept saying "DIDN'T THEY MAKE THIS MOVIE 2 YEARS AGO!?"

And I yelled back "2 years, 5 years, SAME DIFFERENCE I GUESS!"

I went to see Iron Man with a fun crowd.

The Hulk got some 'excited whisperings' though Indy got the most reaction. Sadly, Dark Knight's new trailer didn't play, so I was dissapointed!!! wah!

I saw IM Wednesday night and no trailer :(. I was not very happy.

TIH looked very solid - it also didn't hurt that the crowd there was waiting to see Iron Man on a thursday night, and the TDK trailer was included too.

I think that this movie will do very well, especially since everybody will still be overtly happy about the Iron Man movie.
