For those of you who saw Iron Man (I'm seeing it tomorrow), this is a thread to talk about the audience reaction to the trailer. I would ask this question in the trailer discussion thread, but they're too busy arguing about the CGI. Was the audience surprised? Dissapointed? Amazed? Talk about their reactions here!

:pal: LOL!!! ROFLMAO!!! True but I think everyone is calming down a little...

Did anyone see Iron Man with the trailer at their showing? I saw the 8pm last night, and NOTHING!!!

Talk about a blown opportunity! Or is it attached to the normal release today and here on out.

If they don't attach the trailer to this, then I really think they are being idiots about marketing this movie.

it was on mine and it got a big pop from everybody and hit all the rite notes

A couple of people giggled at it and the Happening trailer in my theater but that doesn't mean a whole lot. I mean that doesn't make or break the film at the boxoffice.

I saw Iron Man twice last night.

First, a 5:30pm show, which was about 80% full (400 people). Then I caught a 10:00pm show in a bigger theater, which was about 65% full (about 450 people).

The last show, I remember when the Marvel Studios logo popped up and Norton's lines came up, a few people started clapping. I tell ya, this new Hulk is getting fans excited while also confusing some general moviegoers. When Banner starts Hulking out on the overpass, someone behind me said, "Hulk? Another one?"

If this movie has one thing NOT going for it, it's coming out with another Hulk origin movie just five years after the last one.

I just got back from watching Iron Man and the Hulk trailer played. There wasn't really any reaction. I heard one or two people say "what ever" after it played.

Virtually no reaction at my theatre, but everyone seems like they were interested (noone was talking or looking for their popcorn, that I could see)...

I saw Iron Man twice. The TIH trailer played both times and didn't get much of a reaction, but there really wasn't a reaction to Dark Knight or Indy 4 either.

It got a bit of a reaction when I saw it. Especially when he started transforming.
But later they showed indie jones and everyone applauded.

Actually I did notice a reaction from two girls behind me who said "No way" during the first transformation. Couldn't tell if it was good or bad though.

I love the fact that to the uninitiated the trailer looks like it's for a thriller-type movie starring Edward Norton.....up until the first transformation. It catches everyone off guard.

That just goes to show you the extent with which you can use these "public reactions" as a barometer for interest levels... it really doesn't mean a thing... at the end of the day the Hulk will do solid numbers with the recent IM success so long as the quality is there... I am just not sure its going to be that successful b/c the confusion factor with Ang' movie is really throwing people off... that much is evident.

Agreed. From now to opening day, Marvel needs to market the HELL out of this movie. And if they included as many "Easter Eggs" as the Iron Man movie did, and if RDJ is indeed making an appearance (and perhaps even Nick Fury) then they need to make sure fans are aware of all of this.

Build up some serious excitement.

My audience seemed really excited and were talking about it after the trailer went off. Incredible Hulk will be good. After Iron Man I have full confidence in Marvel.

When I seen Iron Man Thurday night here at Citywalk in Orlando, it got several big pop's from the crowd...

-Hulks first reveal jumping out of the overlook

-Hulk "Sparta kicking" Blonsky

-Hulk ripping the cop car in half

Everyone seemed into it, no snickers or murmurs from the crowd. Unlike the M Night "LOUD NOISES" trailer for The Happening, which had an loud groan when his name was on screen, and at the end. Get Smart didn't get a good response either.

The Happening didn't get a very good response at my theater either. Coupling with its rated R status, Incredible Hulk will be #1 that weekend. No dount in my head now.

It showed in my theater when I saw Iron Man.
As for reactions I got nothin, and I was on the lookout but right before Hulk jumped out of the overpass when it was quiet I yelled "Run their city!" (thats a saying me and my friends have). The trailer was great and let you see so much more detail, like the Hulk transformation when hes in the stretcher with Doc Samson standing over him.

This isn't another typical origin film though,Norton and Leterrier have stated this many times. It was something they wanted to avoid. The film hits the ground running with the origin only being told in flashabcks throughout the film.

Well the general audience won't know that.
