Sci-Fi Avatar: The Way Of Water

zero chance she is just playing a younger character. Kiri looks like Sigourney's avatar. same pattern on her forehead like in the first movie, her face is modeled after young Sigourney, plus she is wearing her necklace from the first movie. and now in the new image Kiri is looking at Grace on the screen.

In the new image Kiri has 5 fingers like avatars. na'vi have only 4 fingers. Maybe Quaritch and Grace avatars are created in the lab.

So Weaver's character gets reincarnated as an adolescent and Jake and Neytiri adopt her?

Looks so good!

If dead Grace was able to inhabit a Navi avatar that could mean that the consciousness of other dead Navi stored in the neural network can inhabit avatar bodies. It might be a way to bring back their greatest dead warriors to help them fight against humans and earth. At the very least maybe Neytiri's father could live again some day.

Was not expecting that info with who Weaver is playing, pretty interesting.

So, Kate Winslet and Sigourney Weaver will be in a movie together for the first time, and also having avatars of themselves in this world. Yeah, I'm in.

Yes, in the long-awaited sequel, Stephen Lang is returning in the same role – this time in Na’vi form, his consciousness having been added to an avatar body. “He’s bigger, he’s bluer, he’s pissed off,” he laughs while speaking to Empire. “But there may possibly be an aspect of humility. When you take two Na’vi arrows in the chest, that’s gonna have some kind of effect on you.” It’s not just Quaritch who’s been given a big blue upgrade. In The Way Of Water, the RDA has a whole set of Recoms, aka Recombinants – avatars embedded with the memories of human soldiers. A whole new body means a whole new Quaritch. “[He] was always a character who moved in straight lines and at right angles,” Lang explains. “But now he is as lithe as they come. He can move with the same kind of cunning and feral quality that any of the Na’vi
can.”

The arrival of the Recoms is just the beginning – the returning RDA mean business. “They are combing back with an armada to take back the prized possession that they lost,” teases producer Jon Landau. This time, they’ve built an entire new city, Bridgehead, and are stripping away the resources of Pandora’s oceans – and they have a weapons-spewing 3D printing facility that means they’re even more tooled-up this time around. “This is RDA scale,” promises Landau. The war for Pandora is only just beginning.

Damn, this sounds cool, and is pretty much what I wanted from a sequel.

It will be cool if in a later film the Navi have to go to space.

That's potentially good news. I didn't mind him doing all the Avatar movies but I do want to see him direct other stuff too.

Kind of surprised me, as Jon Landau said that they shot about about a third of Avatar 4. I know that isn’t much but still.

I definitely want to see Cameron direct other stuff. I'm curious what other ideas he has.

That's completely out of the blue (no pun intended). I thought they were almost ready to start production on the sequels as well. They even filmed some stuff already. Maybe Disney is giving him a hard time for the next ones and he's realising it will take even more time than he thought. I want to see Cameron do other stuff too, but I don't think I care for Avatar if he's not involved.

Can't blame him if he wants to step away as a director considering he almost spent 30 years now building this world. He began writing the first movie as early as 1994

Wasn't Sam Worthington supposed to be the next big thing in Hollywood? Of course, it might be his choice in that he wants to continue to be a working actor without all of the burdens of being an A-List star. If that is the case, I can't blame him for that.

Well, it wasn’t for lack of trying.

Cameron cast him as an unknown for Avatar. Then studios got wind and jumped on the bandwagon, and he got cast in Terminator which was filmed after but released first and then Clash of the Titans. Cameron used him just right in Avatar, but he didn’t have the charm in the other two to really propel him.
