The Avengers Avengers Assembled: News and Speculation - - - Part 69

Many shots of Iron Man were bad. The aliens looked not good throughout. Few shots of Captain America stuck out as awful. It was obvious they put most of their time into doing the Hulk right which was incredibly successful because he looked phenomenal

ILM reconstructed portions of New York to the point I had no idea they did up until after the movie was released. They definitely do deserve a nod.

A few months back Whedon said he'd be headlining it. I'm pretty sure he'll be a regular.

IF the pilot is excepted. We still don't know for sure there IS going to be a SHIELD show, just that they want to make it.

Nice to hear that Whedon's Avengers 2 script will be completed in a few months.

He is so professional and committed to the franchise.

Whedon really does love these characters and the universe they inhabit.

Not worth 200.00 PLUS tho.
Personally, I think even half the retail price is too much, it's just a friggin' FLIGHT DECK.
Hasbro really should have made a Helicarrier CARRYING Case for the Figures. THAT would have sold alot better.

So should they make Thanos CGI? Or do an actor with prostetics? If im not mistaken, they used an actor in prostetics for Thanos in the mid credits scene. The reason i ask is because i thought, correct me if im wrong, that Thanos in the comics has a physique simillar to the Hulk. This would be hard to achieve with an actor since Hulk in Avengers was like eightfeet tall and like 1,200 pounds from the look of him. So which route should they go for Thanos? CGI or prostetics and makeup? I always tend to favor practical effects to CGI where ever possible. Curious what others think.

His physique was closer to Thors in my opinion.

I would prefer practical effects as much as possible over cgi. They're getting good but the tech still isn't quite there. Hulk still looked like a cartoon amongst the Avengers.

I didnt know Thanos had a physique similar to Thors in comics. Thanks for clearing that up. If thats the case, practical effects would be appropriate. I agree CGI has come a long way, but i too prefer practical effects.

I think they should do prosthetics with CGI effects on his body, to make him look bigger. He should be a little bit taller than Chris Hemsworth, and physically bigger, hence the cgi, or effects. I sort of imagined a prosthetic and mo cap, or aleast effects to Make Thanos appear taller, and bigger. He isn't as big as Hulk, but he is physically built pretty big.

I would prefer effects as well, just some cgi may be needed for his mass, and I am not sure where you are getting a similar physique to Thor from lol

That's because he doesn't have a similar physique to Thor lol. Thanos is bigger and more muscular than thor, it's really not that close, just look at the pictures, Thanos at his worst drawings still seems more muscular, and bigger.

Thanos is like a ridiculous creepy buffed up dude/bodybuilder, except instead of creepy he is awesome. :awesome:

He is massive not like the Hulk but...kinda like the Hulk?

That 2nd one isn't THOR that's Eric Masterson AS Thor

It actually depends on who's drawing him. Yes he's usualy just a little thicker than Thor but close and he's more like Thor's hieght. That makes him closer to Thor thsan he is to the Hulk. I never said they were identicle. I would rather a guy around Hemsworth's size play him than a cgi character. Hell I'd rather a guy in a Thing style suit than a cartoon like Hulk. Practical effects are still the best way to go for major characters.

Those are some badass scans of Thanos. Thanks for that. I think they can achieve his look through practical effects and makeup. I cant wait to see what he looks like full on in the next movie. I also wonder how theyll be able to defeat him. They will certainly need a bigger roster. The Mad Titan aint going down easy. And he cant die so i the Avengers have their work cut out for them.

Iron Man's CGI was very uneven - sometimes good, sometimes bad. The night fight with Thor is one bad example.

I can't remember a single shot in the film where I felt the CGI was less than stellar. To say it had weak visual effects and/or didn't deserve a nomination is outright ridiculous.
