This is insane - we did it, guys!

Now I can finally rest... and watch the sunrise on a greatful box office rankings.

Avatar will probably be re-released when Avatar 2 comes out so it wouldn't suprise me if Avatar ends up on top again.

I doubt they will re-release Avatar, but even if they do it won't be able to make up 10m+ that it will need to beat Endgame.

I didn’t realise it was going to happen this weekend. I guess that’s down to the overseas updating a lot in one go. What a result for this film, for Avengers, the MCU and CBMs!!

Yeah me too. I was sure it was going to be next weekend.

You kids and your toys. :oldrazz:

Someone should invite @Kane52630 here, he should join the party.
SUPERHERO FATIGUE!!!!!

But seriously, congratulations to Marvel Studios. They deserve it after years of successful films leading up to it. This whole thing was an undertaking unprecedented in cinematic history.
Marvel fatigue.

Disney owns both now. I don’t think they will because Marvel has already given them so much money it really is the crown jewel of their movie division, moreso than Star Wars.

Some freezing cold takes regarding the MCU's boxoffice over the years at the Hype:

2012 - Before the release of the Avengers: "Best case scenario is Iron-Man numbers, if they didn't show up for Iron-Man why would they show up for this? That has to be the ceiling." (guilty of this)

2015 - After Ultron's OW misses 200m: "TA1 was lightning in a bottle, Marvel peaked with TA1 and now that the novelty of the first ever team up movie is used up, it's all downhill from here."

2015: "Star Wars, the King of all franchises has returned. The MCU needs to accept the fact that it will be second fiddle inside Disney from this point on." (I was guilty of this).

2016: "Batman V Superman will easily top Civil War, Superman and Batman are two of the most popular superheroes ever, Marvel can't compete with that. The DC era is about to begin"

2018 - Before Black Panther: "No MCU movie without RDJ can make a billion, after RDJ retries MCU is F'ed"

2018 - Before Infinity War: "Infinity War cannot crack 2 billion, it took Star Wars taking a 10 year long hiatus and the OT cast returning for it to do that, there is no way IW can do that"

2019 - Before Endgame: "2 billion is the best EG can hope for, maybe it beats Titanic, but beating Avatar is laughable, how can it gross almost 750m over Infinity War?" (Was guilty of this also).

3/7 for me. Now fess up, which of these were you guilty of.

Avatar will easily take this record back people. Endgame wont get far enough ahead of Avatar when Avatar gets re released at least twice for Avatar 2 & Avatar 3

Guitly of A1 was lightning in a bottle, Infinity War won’t make 2B and Endgame won’t beat Avatar. I was never big on the theory that much of Marvel’s success was resting on RDJ’s shoulders but I admit that I failed to grasp the heights reached by 3 out of the 4 Avengers films.

6/7 for me, Ultron is the one thing I'm not guilty of.

The King is dead. Long live the King. Now lets see if it can get to 3 billion. We need a pic of Tony Stark snapping his fingers and saying " I am Iron man", while the Avatar title fades to dust. That would be cool.

Great list. Pretty sure I’ve read all these at some point on the hype.
