Infinity War Avengers: Infinity War SPOILER User Review Thread - Part 2

Also, he watched all the MCU films.

That is more why and how he knows where all the stones are. :p Imagine Thanos sitting in his floating chair and watching youtube videos titled "where are the infinity stones" and writing them down to ensure he does not forget. :p :D

"GREAT SCOTT! The locations spell my name!"

No joke? Dat true?

It was just some silly internet theory. Like....Tesseract, Her (meaning Gamora...what a stretch!), Aether, Necklace, Orb, Scepter. I mean...whatever gets people excited, I guess.

Coz he is the one who "resurrected" Loki after his fall off the bifrost in Thor 1.

Where is that established? I remember none of that.

All The Other said was he "He who gave you ancient knowledge and new purpose when you were cast out - defeated."

While a few jokes annoyed me I think this was one of the better balanced film when it came to humor in the MCU. All the Russo films have been this way in my view.

Meh.

Their prior films were way more balanced in that regard i.e. CA:TWS and Civil War. This one was a bit more jokey jokey than I expected. Some of it landed well, some of it I found distracting.

I will say this though - I actually found Drax hilarious in this and normally I can't stand him.

Full disclosure: I was 11 when The Infinity Gauntlet was released. I saved up my money, so I could have enough for all 6 issues. I had just started reading comics the year before and this was my first huge event.

After that I devoured The Infinity War and The Infinity Crusade. They were pivotal books for me in my childhood. Never in a million years would I believe they would make a movie of it.

Thoughts: Basically, this movie pummeled me into submission. It is so fast-paced that I felt exhausted watching.

Pros:

Josh Brolin as Thanos was perfect. I was very hesitant on the casting, but was proven wrong. Could be his signature performance. He really captured Thanos. The last scene reminded me of the last part of the books: Thanos sitting down and smiling.

Scenes with Thanos and Gamora. Gave the movie some much needed character development.

Guardians: all of them were very good in this.

Ebony Maw was a great character.

The fight scenes with Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Dr. Strange. They were the most interesting and had the most clever outcomes.

Anytime when Thanos was there. Everything elevated with his presence.

Cons:

Just too fast of a pace. Slow down just a bit and let us recover.

Wasn't impressed with Dinklage. Great actor, but just directed poorly here.

Humor was off in the beginning, got better as movie progressed. The beginning felt a little disjointed when we first started in New York. Just kind of awkward.

Wanted a little bit more from the books. Thanos destroying Cap's shield. And Thanos' love for Death. Glad to see some of Nebula's story in there and the Thanos finger snap. But needed some additional connections.

Overall, I loved it. Been awhile since a movie really stuck with me. This still has, so must have made a big impact.

I'd give it an A-.

Hahaha, that would be awesome. :funny:

He posts in the YouTube comments (complete with smiley) when there’s a stone missing from the video - “anyone know where the last one is? ;)”.

This post really relates to Spider-Man Homecoming 2, but I can't post it in a Spider-Man thread without being able to talk about things openly because of Infinity War spoilers.

Are Marvel going to film Homecoming 2 in secret? It's scheduled for next year after Avengers 4.

Because Spider-Man died at the end of IW when he disintegrated with half the universe.

If they wanted to make that release date of next year, wouldn't they need to start filming now, and even making cast announcements?

But if they have to shoot on location, it's near impossible to film in secret because there will be spy shots that someone will take.

If Marvel want to maintain the mystery of the cliffhanger which would only be resolved in Avengers 4, then they can't really be seen to be filming. They can't even really make any announcements either.

If they do, it will ruin the illusion of Spider-Man's death. Yes, we all know he is coming back, but wouldn't it reduce the impact when we see all these set photos and casting announcements? Also, maybe not everyone in the general audience knows there's a Homecoming sequel coming either.

What are Marvel going to do? What do people think?

Watching the Avengers right now, and I'm at the moment where Stark talks to Banner in the helicarrier lab:
Tony: "Or you'll be suiting up with the rest of us."
Bruce: "Now you see, I don't get a suit of armor, I'm exposed."

Nothing. Everybody knows they’re all coming back. Black Panther 2 was announced as well. There’s no way he’s not coming back either. By the first teaser they’ll show all the characters back. Kind of why the ending wasn’t that shocking.

I rewatched the very first Iron Man and a line by JARVIS:
"Perhaps, if you intend to visit other planets..."
It was meant to sound like a ridiculous thing. And here we are!

It would've been nice if Tony'd still retained Friday when he travelled to Titan. Really cool to see the interaction between those two

Meh.. Not much of a stretch to think that when he fell off the Bifrost he would have eventually died but for the fortune of being picked up by Thanos and/or his henchmen.

I think this should be the next short that Taika Waititi should direct for Marvel. Tweet this out to him, Feige, Brolin and Marvel Studios please. :)

watched it again last night and it dawned on me Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glave's weapons are left behind will someone used them in A4?

I would assume so

Yeah, I always got that he was spat out where Thanos was, and that it wasn't pleasant. (Kind of like Sakaar ended up being, for landing. Also- in Ragnarok he says he 'fell through time and space')

and more Taika would be very good.

I missed that line. :O Time to look it up.

Did you find Avengers even more enjoyable after seeing IW? I did.

For those interested in Screen time, here is IMDBs breakdown of the character screen time in A:IW. I don't think their screen time listings are exactly 100% accurate, as other breakdowns for TA & AoU conflict with theirs...but this is the only such breakdown I can find currently (and it does look at least in the right ball park). Also, it looks like it is rounded to nearest 15secs interval:

Thanos <29>
Gamora <19:30>
Tony Stark / Iron Man <18>
Thor <14:30>
Dr. Stephen Strange <11:30>
Peter Quill / Star-Lord <10:15>
Vision <9:45>
Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch <9>
Dr. Bruce Banner / The Hulk <8:45>
