Avengers the Initiative

Id check it out but there doesnt seem to be a lot to them without Skrulls.

There wasn't a lot to them with Skrulls. Ooh, they're crazy, vicious bastards and they eat Skrulls after they kill 'em. Um... okay? I'm surprised there was such a huge cult following for them all these years.

Thats still something though. I only read their Intiative stuff so I dont really know them. But I mean without Skrulls they're just hungry superhumans it seems.

FYI, CBR had some comic book solicts for DARK REIGN and the talk of AVENGERS: THE INITIATIVE's demise were exaggerated. It is still being solicted until Feb. 2009 with Gage writing solo. Sales are still at about 50k a clip which is perfectly fine for a comic these days (basically a Top 40 lock).

Oh, and the return of Clor.

Oh, and the return of Clor.

The rumors that A:TI was being canceled came from those solicits, and the fact that they're subtitled "The Initiative Disassembled."

I don't think the book is being canceled either, but your source is exactly the reason think it is being canned.

I could imagine it getting a new title, but, seriously? Cancelling a book that sells twice as well as GHOST RIDER and not GHOST RIDER? It seems daffy.

I expect Gage to be allowed at least 4-6 issues (one trade) by himself.

Well, like I said, I think don't the book is ending. "The Initiative Disassembled" sounds a lot like "Killed in Action"--an end of the year story designed to clean house.

Really looking forward to all the Avengers shaking up and War Machine

Fair enough.

I reread some past issues, and I will say it is a shame that Hardball/Komodo broke up and that Cloud 9 fell to the dark side. Those three were among the best new characters the title had.

But, yeah, I am curious what Gage will do with it.

Really looking forward to all the Avengers shaking up and War Machine

Looking forward to Slott on Mighty Avengers. :woot:

I still dunno how I feel about Wanda being back. There better be numerous death threats from mutants DAILY

What would be the new title however? The New Initiative?

I hope the book isn't cancelled, until Slott's MA comes out it's the best book with the word Avengers in the title.

Oh give the girl a break. Maybe Clint boinked her so hard he rattled some sense back into her head.

She gets no break here. She and her crazy ass family need to be hurt :o

It's pretty obvious that she's Mutant Zero too now. I wanted a surprise :(

i think there is a much better chance of her being Scarlet Witch. Theres so much evidence for Scarlet Witch and Jean Grey being the possible identity it pisses me off that these characters would go from practically having their hooks in the entire universe at one point (for the most part) to Gyrich's personal bodyguard at Camp hammond.

o_O I still don't think she's Mutant Zero.

Ha, really?

I'm pretty sure they're saving Jean to be the little girl Cable is currently raising in the future.

I want to know since Stark is basically out, is the Iniaitive out as well or is Osborn in charge?

"From now on, you are required to kill your opponents in the most vicious, brutal ways you can imagine. If you have some time, eating their brains is also recommended."

Can't be. Slott said Mutant Zero would be first revealed in AtI and Mighty comes out before AtI 20. I guess they might do some misdirection on it, but I'd say she's out unless slott forgot what he was doing.

Slott said Scarlet Witch's return would be fully dealt with in MA. From that I'm guessing that Mutant Zero isn't the Witch.

That's not necessarily true. Jean Grey returned from the dead in the pages of the Fantastic Four.

:ff: :ff: :ff:
