Brevoort confirmed some of these match ups we're seeing aren't likely to take place, they're just for promotion. There's no way Spider-Man (as big as he is) beats Bobby, but of course if the writers remember Pete's a genius then...

Stark vs Mags is a head scratcher, Mags is a beast but then again Stark always has a plan so we'll see.

Also how fitting is Gambit vs Spider-Woman? Remy with his hypnotic charm and Jess with her pheromone powers lol.

If Storm was already beat once by Thor and they do indeed duke it out again I dont see them having him beat her again. If anything come out to a standstill.

Ugh, I can't believe Beast is siding with the X-Men. Or that Wolverine is reuniting with Cyclops after all of about 3 seconds of being off on his own. Or that anyone thinks Storm could take Thor. Or that the Hulk is considered an Avenger for this. Or that they put such terrible artists on some of these promo pics. Or that... I'm out. Give me a second, I'll come up with some more.

Marvel did some terrific teasers in the past couple of years and these have been outright horrendous. I'm not feeling this event so far.

I've pretty much already decided to pass. I'm waiting to see who Thor's matched up with and who's writing and drawing his issue, then I'll decide whether I want to buy it. But just that one issue. F*** the rest of this nonsense.

I'll try issue one. The first thing that gets under my skin, I'm out.

I'm excited for the event but these teasers mean nothing to me. They're just to promote and likely have nothing to do with the actual story.

Heck, in the initial promo fight image they had Storm blasting Iron Man and Beast attacking Storm, yet in these both Storm and Beast are fighting as X-Men.

I'll just take the issues as they come.

You have a much higher Bendis tolerance than most of us, though, remember? ;)

Yes but this also has other writers that fans typically like, such as Brubaker and Aaron... and to a slightly lesser degree Hickman. Then there's Fraction who turned a lot of people off with Fear Itself.

So yeah, Bendis is only a 5th of this event.

My saving grace is that I'm a long term X-Men fan and I like the current Avenger teams (mostly) so I'm curious how it plays out.

One promo has Colossus taking on Red Hulk, while the other has him matched up against the Thing. Colossus was more than a match for the Thing before getting his Juggernaut powers, now Ben would not stand a chance. I'd rather see Pete stomp Red Hulk!

Wait, since when has Daredevil been an Avenger or him being in 2 books justify him being in one of the Vs match-ups over someone more deserving?

The Spider-Woman/Gambit one looks like s***, my 4 year old nephew can doodle better looking drawings.

Daredevil joined the team during Fear Itself. He's brand new having only appeared in maybe 3 issues so far.

And I like that Cyclops/Hawkeye drawing. It'd be a quick easy win for Cyclops but still... cool art. Not sure who it is though. Can't tell.

It says Esad Ribic underneath.

*edit* Woo-hoo 5K posts! :)

ok, so winners so far, I'm saying:

Iron Man
Psylocke
Thor
and Spider-Man, solely due to popularity

that's some serious BS tho. Bobby would stomp his ass, and (these days) out-funny him to boot

Spidey beat Iceman way back in ASM #92. Bobby is more powerful, but by comparison might as well be moving in slow motion. :yay:
