The problem is that while the members of New Avengers all have close ties, Bendis never plays off that. They all just have a past with each other and that's it, off to fight HAMMER and Osborn again. Most writers would delve into their relationships and what makes them tick when around the other. That's why New Avengers is an inferior book.
He uses it some but not near enough. That's partially why I'm hoping this team stays in tact once he leaves because for as much as I like Bendis' take on the book, there's other writers who could make it amazing.
I just have a feeling that the entire Avengers line is being revamped once he leaves and I hate that. I don't mind Avengers getting revamped but New Avengers is such a good roster that, in the right hands, could be the top Marvel book again.
