I thought the X-men and The avengers already fought in the 80's when Magneto first came over to the X-men team. The goverment wanted to take him in for all his crimes. Then the Avengers came to aresst him but the X-men wouldn't let them take him. 100% sure that happen.

Yeah, that happened. I remember it specifically because the Black Knight fought Wolverine and, in spite of their wildly mismatched levels of popularity, the Black Knight actually didn't do too badly. It pretty much wound up being a draw, as I recall.

Well I'm still excited for it either way. I just wasnt sure if that happend or not. I just wanna see what the match ups are going to be like. Also who will side with who.

Beast seems to be siding with the Avengers, which makes me happy, although I suspect it'll be more of a technicality than anything else. He'll probably be one to take the diplomatic route and be like, "I understand where the Avengers are coming from, even though the X-Men are my family, and I agree that the Phoenix is a bigger problem than any of us can handle on our own. So let's go take it out before it ever gets to Earth and causes us any problems. Then everyone can go back to their corners and be happy!"

Definitely sounds like Iron Fist's power is gonna wind up being connected to the Phoenix Force. Shou-Lou's gonna just be some kind of conduit in K'un L'un to the Phoenix Force. And I'm about 90% certain we're going to see Danny's costume turn red at some point.

doesn't his costume go red when he goes bad anyway...i seem to recall in the original series he has a red costume

If X-comics pre-Jean Grey School are anything to go by, Beast will just spend his time b*tching on the sidelines....

Admittedly I haven't been reading his current Avengers/WATXM stuff so hopefully he's back to his old self now

I remember he wore a red version of his costume in Black Panther one time, but I think he was possessed or something.

actually I looked it up and he wore the red costume in the original series out of shame for something he did...this was before Luke accidentally killed him...it was part of the original series

So y'all ready for some good laughs?

Marve's AvX marketing:

We've brought together eight of the best creators in comics -- Brian Bendis, Jason Aaron, Ed Brubaker, Jonathan Hickman, Matt Fraction, John Romita JR, Olivier Coipel and Adam Kubert -- for a story that truly involves the ENTIRE Marvel Universe.
Past events have allowed for certain groups of characters -- like the X-Men -- to sit on the sidelines but now with "AvX", an event of this magnitude demands every Marvel character be involved. And they all will have a role in this story.

Entire Marvel Universe you say? Well where are the villains? Where are the supernatural characters? Wheres the Fantastic Four and Future Foundation or the Punisher?

We're launching only one new tie-in series with "Avengers VS X-Men": VS, which focuses on (and expands) the fights only hinted at in what's an already action-packed main series. The rest of our tie-ins occur in our already ongoing series, each focusing on a story element that's important to the larger "Avengers VS X-Men" picture but doesn't require fans to diverge from the main series if they want to understand events.

Tie-Ins have never been marketing as necessary originally, but when you get to the event such as Fear Itself, you get promotions like "read the Mighty Thor #7! NECESSARY PREQUEL TO THE HIT EVENT OF 2011!!!!" Not to mention we all know Marvel simply can't afford tie-ins anymore.

This is a truly new reader friendly event -- everything you need to know is covered in "Avengers VS X-Men" #1.

So why hasn't this been done before and why have they lied about the previous events if they we're suppose tobe new reader friendly too? :p I mean c'mon this is pure comedy gold. Did they really think adding this line to their article would give good encouraging feedback? Lol.

  • We're mounting the largest Marvel Comics marketing campaign in history, investing more capital and resources into reaching new readers than ever before. You've seen the start of it last week, with "Avengers VS X-Men" online advertising on all the major comic sites to rally the core fans who're already talking about this series.
  • This advertising includes:

    • Radio, online, Facebook and targeted search engine media buys targeting comic book readers, lapsed fans, gamers and those who have seen Marvel Films
    • National radio spots in targeted major markets
    • Media buys on key pop culture and entertainment sites pushing consumers to comic stores via comic shop locator
    • Sustained marketing buys across pre-on sale, on-sale and sustainment time periods

Here's a hint: 2.99$ comics.

So, anyone else found anything good in that article to share and giggle?

Bleeding Cool is reporting that Bendis will take over the X-Men books, the same way he's managed the Avengers books, after Avengers vs X-men.

We know that Avengers Vs X-Men is meant to have some major changes for the Marvel Universe. Honest, this time. Well, this looks like the first of them.

After Avengers Vs X-Men, we know Brian Bendis is bringing to a close his writing and showrunning of the Avengers comics for Marvel. But what next for their golden child?

I’ve been told by a number of industry sources only one thing. That he’ll be taking over the X-Men books.

Brian Bendis came to the Avengers books with the Avengers Dissassembled storyline that saw the Scarlet Witch take the team apart – and then the world itself in House Of M. Relaunching as The New Avengers, the book would then split in two, in three, before spearheading the Secret Invasion storyline. And with The Ultron War now coming, with Bryan Hitch and Avengers Vs X-Men, it’s time for Brian Bendis himself to switch sides.

Marvel are expected to perform some form of Marvel relaunch, possibly as a wave rather than a DC All-In-One – and one could also argue that Marvel have been doing that for the past couple of years anyway. But Brian Bendis will be the writer of the X-Men titles, in the same way that he writes Avengers and New Avengers now.

I wonder if he’ll be bringing Scarlet Witch with him?

I don't read any of the X-Men books right now so this won't effect me much. I used to be a Bendis fan but dropped all his books (with the exception of USM) awhile back when I just couldn't take his style anymore, so I'm glad he's leaving Avengers. As a former fan I hoped that he would focus on fewer books in order to improve his writing. Maybe go back to the street level stuff he's good at. But it sounds like that won't happen if this is true.

What do you guys think about the possibility of him taking over the X-Men books?

Hahahaha, that is hilarious. Welcome to Avengers' fans hell for the past 8 years, X-Men fans. :lmao:

But srsly though, what's this about a relaunch?

Bendis:" So I am think how come only mutants can be X-men...so here is my new line up of X-men: Luke Cage, Spider-woman,Winter-soldier, Miles Morales Spider-man, Wolverine and the Red Hood."

Yeah, the idea of a relaunch is the only thing that scares me about that article. Hopefully they just mean a relaunch the same way they always "relaunch" stuff after events, like new Avengers and X-Men team lineups, renumbering books to #1 or their original numbers, more .1 issues and stuff like that. I'd be pissed if they went the new 52 route.

Bendis:" So I am think how come only mutants can be X-men...so here is my new line up of X-men: Luke Cage, Spider-woman,Winter-soldier, Miles Morales Spider-man, Wolverine and the Red Hood."

That's exactly what I thought when I read the article. "Ah crap, now Spider-Man and Luke Cage are gonna be X-Men!" :funny:
