I always felt that its the job of the Sorcerer Supreme to prevent magic from altering reality....like if someone turned the world into medieval times he'd be the one to turn it back.
I found it funny that Dr Strange felt no need to reverse the effects.

The Infinity Gauntlet's not allowed to work in the main Marvel universe because the Living Tribunal said so. Isn't that still in effect?

Anyway, Dr. Strange need not concern himself because Wanda's powers aren't magic, they're straight-up reality alteration. Bendis essentially made her into an older, female version of Franklin Richards.

I'm thinking that at around the same time Bendis made the Beyonder a Mutant Inhuman, the Infinity Gems got their power back.

Wait, Bendis also retconned the Living Tribunal making the Gems not work together?

What is wrong with the ****ing guy? Seriously? Can't he write a story without changing something to fit it?

In fairness to him, he may just not have known the LT decreed the gems shouldn't work together anymore. Didn't that happen later on in an Adam Warlock issue or something?

Well that's where his editor should come in. But then, guys like Bendis and Geoff Johns don't have to answer to editors. Which is why on the whole, mainstream superhero comics are crap compared to how they used to be. There is no one there saying "Hey guys, actually, that story won't work". The guys who are supposed to be in charge are too busy brown nosing their "architects" instead of keeping them in line.

Probably. Although, the more I think about it, the more I wonder if maybe the editors just don't know either. We know all this super-obscure stuff because we're big enough fans that we pore over the comics regularly. Maybe the editors don't do that as much and forget details because it's just a job to them. I mean, there are some who definitely know the comics inside and out, but I'm sure even they miss stuff all the time.

Fair point. And i mean, i'm not that much of a continuity stickler, it's more about consistancy. And a lot of the time i think ego plays a big part too. I can literally imagine Bendis sitting there like "Ha, i'm writing the flag ship book, **** all these other guys, i'll just ignore or retcon whatever they wrote in the unimportant books".

For this event you'll want to go with X-Sanction #1-4 and Young Avengers: The Children's Crusade #1-9. They both are build ups to AvX more than the monthlies have been.
